I got the deal from bloomspot for this place for $ 40 worth for $ 80 Spa treatment at Spa Monaca Hotel San Francisco. This is the worse experience in my life. I am a huge spa fan and SF local. The photo on the website looks really nice but the facility there was the most terrible spa facility that I had never been experienced before. First all, the spa has to pass a really small gym. The entrance is not even easy to find. They do not even have a formal reception desk. It’s like a dining table in the gym and only one laptop on the table. Photo shows jacuzzi, sauna and steam room so I brought my skin care products and was ready to enjoy and relax at the facility BUT they do not have separate men and women area nor the locker room to put my stuff in it. I was standing there and three man were sitting in the jacuzzi and looking at me. This is in a basement setting with terrible air circulation and strong bleach smell in a tiny space. The treatment room was hardly to walk for two people (my mom & I) plus two therapist. The treatment room was just next to the jacuzzi and we can hear all the phoe rings without anyone answering.
I had hot stone massage 50 min it cost me $ 140 with the bloomspot deal and I still need to pay $ 60 out of my pocket. The treatment room is very small and the therapist did a terrible job too! Only touchs my body not even giving the strength nor knowing the massage treatment flow. She left the blanket up and I was cold then she went to look for the hot stones for a while… all these bad experiecnes turn out the worst at the end. I put the robe on and they only have one men and women share changing room and shower room. I was gonna go take shower but they told me I need to pay first since they wanna take off from job and also pointed out that tips is missing on the receipt. Well… i usually tip for 18−20% to my thearapist but this time I only gave $ 10. I locked the door during shower and one of the therapist knock on the door after 10 mins in shower and asked me if she can come iin to pick up her stuff so she can take off. I hope they can understand all the service and facility they provide here is totally not acceptable. I can’t beleive they even charge for the over price as 5 stars hotels. I have been to many different spas in town and around the world. Here is the worse place that I had been to. I am really disappinted that bloomspot did not review this place before listing the deal to the customer. I am also hoping people will see this review before going to this place. Please go somewhere else! You will find the same price for the bettter facilty and service such as Kabuki Spa (cheaper than here), Nob Hill Spa, Spa in Four Seasons hotel, St. Regis Spa. The last even Suchada Thai Massage. All these places have competitive price and a lot better facility and more professional thearipist!!!
