Winnie and Sammie are the best!
Winnie recently gave me her baby clothes for my new baby-​to-​be.
They are like family to me.
AND they give INCREDIBLE haircuts.

Best salon, no, best business in the entire city of San Francisco. Wish every small biz was like this.

Went to Snip2Curl for the first time this past Saturday. Had a good experience. Winnie does a fine job and was very attentive to me. My cut isn’t very complicated but she was careful with the trimming parts. She was also very friendly and pleasant.

I have a wonderful hairdresser I like going to but sometimes you just need a quick touch up from a place nearby. Snip2Curl is right near by my place, they don’t require appointments and they’re open on Sundays! I swung by while out doing errands and was seated within 5 to 10 minutes. I explained what I wanted and the girl doing my hair was a bit scared to go as extreme as short/​extreme as I wanted so I let her go with what she was comfortable with, which actually wound up working out well for me. She gave me a quick shave all around, trimmed the edges, and cleaned everything up nice and neat.
Between the convenience, good price, and good job, I will happily come by again for touch up and maintenance.

butchered. nice enough people, but the woman would not listen or stop cutting when I asked her to. which was multiple times! I made it very clear I just wanted a clean up around the ears and neck… And ended up with practically a buzz cut. It is not too short to even part. Very annoyed and disappointed.
I will never be going back.

A haircut is never just a haircut. It is an experience, deeply personal, and your hairdresser might as well be the shepherd in the valley of death. That said, I am a woolen lamb in Winnie’s hands. She is eminently competent, and has a heart many times her size.

Winnie is amazing! I’ve been going here for a couple years and she always does a great job. She’s flexible with scheduling and more than reasonably priced. Snip 2 Curl is definitely hidden gem on Polk street. My husband sees Winnie too and he’s started referring friends also! This last visit I decided to change things up with a little ombré/​sombre versus my usual highlights– see the photos!

I had hesitated to get my hair straightened for years-​mostly because of cost. I happened to be passing one day and stopped in, Sammie talked to me and gave me a price that was way less than other places quoted.
She did my hair that day which was the beginning of July and it held until my hair grew out (end of March). I’m making an appointment to go back and see Sammie today.
I should mention I had many compliments and recommended her to several people and also, she was great: friendly, efficient, and fair-​priced.

Sammie is the best!
I was recommended to her by a coworker who, one day, came in with amazing hair~! In the beginning, I had some reservations on getting my hair cut because it’s extremely thick and wavy — just all around hard to manage. Not many people are able to cut it correctly so I was a little worried on cutting it short.
I made the call for an appointment on a random Friday morning and was able to book an appointment for two hours later. I showed her some pictures from Pinterest of what I wanted and she corrected me on what the style actually was. She took some time to look at my hair and offered a lot of suggestions on how to cut based on how my hair behaved. Not only that, she’s the only person who looked at my hair and wasn’t excessively commenting on what a wavy mess it was. She complimented it the entire time and was extremely excited to cut my hair the way I wanted.
Overall, I would recommend EVERYONE to her. She knows her stuff when it comes to cutting hair. She’s also super personable and talks to you a lot. I’m going to try to get my hair dyed by her next!

Best haircut I’ve had in 4 years here in SF. Sammie is very nice and very competent and fast. It’s sad no one else is as good as she is. The difference in quality and how good the haircut looks is scary, there are some incompetent people out there, the difference is stark.

Jason does an amazing job of cutting my son’s hair. Sadly he is currently in China for 2 more months. But the two haircuts my son got from the one of the women were so-​so and today’s haircut? The absolute worst. See for yourself. I was VERY clear in my instructions: no more layers just clean up/​straighten out the edges. She began cutting layers. I asked her to stop. Twice. It was crazy. She just ignored what I asked for.
FYI he had a haircut there about 3 weeks ago where they cut too many layers and his fine hair had gotten really stringy. It had grown out very uneven and jagged. I just wanted the edges neatened up. Now it’s just a disaster.

I was in a rush to get my hair done for a photoshoot and there were no other salons in the area who could take me right away, especially at an affordable price.
I showed Sammie some pictures of what my photographer wanted and she got working right away. In about 45minutes I had the perfect updo for this shoot!
This place is clean, friendly and affordable. I’m preparing to go back for a hair cut soon!

Winnie is great! She fixed a horrible cut/​color I had from a «swanky» Union street salon. She is upfront and honest on what you can reasonably do with color and a cut I also had a Keratin treatment, which turned out great.
Prices are very reasonable and skill level is very high. I have recommended Snip2Curl to many ppl! Keep it up ladies!

Sammie is the best!
I just moved here not too long ago and was trying to find a good hair salon that would be quick and take care of what I wanted to accomplish with my hair. I chose Snip2Curl because of their great reviews on Unilocal and I was not disappointed! They were able to get me in immediately (I called at the last min) and Sammie was my stylist. My hair is long and my biggest fear with trying new salons is that they will cut it too short but Sammie kept the length for me and just trimmed the dead ends off, and added more body and volume! My hair still looked long which is exactly what I wanted, and she made it feel so healthy and so beautiful! She is very friendly and fun to talk to as well which is always a plus when you go to a salon!
The salon was also very clean and had bright, vibrant colors. Will definitely come back.

This is a great place to go in San Francisco for a haircut. You get all the attention you get in one of the regular and expensive barbers in the city, but at half the price! A dry cut is only $ 20! In San Francisco this is a bargain price I have found.
Sammie is the main person here it seems, and she is so attentive. You tell her exactly what you want and she will check with you throughout to make sure you are happy. She will also remember you as soon as she sees your haircut from the last time (assuming of course you got it cut there previously).
Very impressed and would highly recommend.

Sammie did a fantastic job with my hair! I went as a walk in on a Sunday afternoon and just barely beat a rush. She spent so much time on me while courteously greeting the other clients that walked in, most of which were clearly regulars.
Not only did she do an amazing job with the bleaching, toning, and dying (I walked in with black hair with bronze ends from too many semipermanent dyes), she made was was usually an extremely harrowing afternoon into a very pleasant one. The shop is clean, well kept, and very welcoming; it barely feels like a hair salon at all.
In terms of technique, Sammie is definitely an expert — she deftly and efficiently got through all the processes, reevaluating at each point to customize my treatment to how my hair was reacting. She also suggested that I go for a pearly look rather than the platinum blonde one I asked for initially, a suggestion I think was _​on point_​:D
I would definitely go back for anything I needed, and recommend anyone who asked me as well!

Few blocks from my house and I love how social the stylists are. I would highly suggest asking for Winnie she does a great job and very positive person.
For San Francisco I thought the price point was very reasonable and great quality in care and design. Def check it out if you’re in the polk street area.

$ 35 for a trim (no wash). Quoted me $ 120 for highlights. Really quick, but I’m not sure my cut was completely even. My hair ends kept splitting afterwards so I’m not sure if she got cut it right

So this is an update to my review a couple weeks ago.
Sammie saw how upset I was with my hair and she called me to come in and get it fixed. I will be honest, I was a littler nervous at first but I thought, what the heck, let’s see how it goes.
I came in and she apologized numerous times and felt terrible. She said she would fix the hair so that it would be a better transition from my dark hair to the light color. Halfway through the process she told me that she would also give me a deep conditioning treatment for free.
After a few hours we finished and I was pleased with the result. As you can tell from the picture I added, the before and after, before there was a terrible line, after it blended much better and looks great! I have also added a comparison of what I had originally wanted to what I now have, and you can tell that it’s almost spot on.
I was so thrilled that I tried to give Sammie a tip, and she refused! How great, she really did feel bad for what had originally happened and wouldn’t even accept a tip after fixing my hair.
Overall, at first, I was totally upset with what I got. However, after Sammie worked on it again, she completely redeemed herself as well as made my hair super soft! I appreciate that greatly. The fact that she reached out to me talks big also. I will be coming back. These ladies take pride in their work and truly want the customer to be happy. Thank you Sammie!
