Love buying beautiful things that I can use daily and that are green :) I had purchased one of Jill’s purses years ago(which has held up wonderfully.) I recently added a «Cassava» tote and coin purse to my growing collection. I’ Jacquie F

Long overdue review! I met Jill Bourneman in a yoga teacher training course several years ago and was impressed by her sweet and funny spirit. I learned that she made yoga mat bags and immediately asked her to make me a tailored one, as my previous generic bags all imploded within few months of my destructo use. Jill’s challenge: to make an über-sturdy, double-lined, extra large bag that can hold my long Manduka Mat, that has a zipper pocket for my valuables, and a reinforced strap for bike riding/walking/running to class. The result: an amazing one-of-a kind black and red bag of a soft but sturdy material, including a piece of incredible fabric with a red, black, and white swirling pattern that she got in Bali! I was instantly transformed into a Bhakti Urban Yoga Warrior! I of course now buy her bags for friends every chance I get, and have noticed since she had a child, that Jill’s collection has expanded to diaper bags – talk about Hip Momma! Shop local, look cool, and get that peaceful, easy feeling. ;)

A shockingly large amount of my time is spent lugging my 10 pound yoga mat around to and from the yoga studio, my office, the yoga studio, my house, the other yoga studio, my boyfriend’s house, that yoga studio in Marin, etc. The good news is, I always look fabulous doing it, because my yoga mat has a great carrier made by Jill Bourneman, the owner and designer for Slainte. I have owned this mat bag since I did my yoga teacher training over two years ago(hmmm, I wonder if it’s required that if you live in SF and you’re a girl, you must be trained as a yoga teacher?). Miraculously, the bag is still intact and looks great(if you knew me, you would know that this is indeed a miracle. I destroy everything within minutes of paying for it. Retailers love me, because they know I’ll be back within a day for the replacement…“ooohh” they say, «here comes Amy, make sure we have more than one…» but I digress). The really good news is that if you are one of the handful of women in San Francisco that has yet to be certified as a yoga teacher, Slainte offers much more than just mat bags. In fact, you’ve probably seen the messenger and hip bags at your local street festival or on the shoulders of some of the hippest ladies in town. So whatever your style(or yoga status) check these bags out. A rare combination of beauty and durability make them a must own.
