Sherwin-Williams Paint Store

This review is for Sherwin Williams semi-​gloss paint. The flat and ceiling paint were fine but the semi-​gloss required three coats to cover. I can not imagine any cheap paint doing any worse. FYI, the staff were very helpful just don’t get their semi-​gloss.

I’m doing a paint job in the West Portal District, I’m using Sherwin-​Williams paint as the owner request. As in most jobs you’ll always need more paint. The paint was bought in the Campbell store. We looked up a store in San Fransisco this store on Geary Blvd. the closes to us. In calling this store to check if they had what I wanted, I was told to go and they had what I needed.
Getting there I told them I needed a certain type of Primer and showed a receipt of the item #. I was told they did not have any of the said type and would sell me a cheaper brand.
I said ”I was told this type was in stock and ready” I think I was told this with them knowing they didn’t have what I needed and would sell me something else. So with out argument I said no thanks I’m to use a certain type and that’s what I was going to do. I just went to the Campbell Store to get what I needed.
The guy was polite and made all kinds of apologies for not having what I came for, but it wasn’t helping me out. If they didn’t have it, they should had told me over the phone and not waste my time driving there for nothing. I’m not a big Sherwin-​Williams fan just because of the high prices, Home Depot’s Behr paint is just as good and cheaper.

Oh thank the painting lord for this Sherwin Williams. Open on Sunday!!! It doesn’t take an hour to match my Benjamin Moore sample like the other guys said (they have it in the computer, it took minutes). The guy was friendly, helpful, and I was in and out way faster than I thought.
Kind of a bummer since I figured I’d walk back over to Salon Bella Linda for a mani/​pedi if I had an hour to kill. Kind of awesome since I got home and finished my first coat of paint before it was too dark to see. Woo!
They also have their own line of environmentally friendly/​low VOC paint (called Harmony) which makes me a happy camper.

Good fast service, everything you need in a paint store. Their paints are of good quality but a little more expensive than the stuff at the local Ace hardware. But probably worth it since there is easy parking.
