this place is open late so ended up going here to get something my friend wanted to check out.
ended up coming back an hour later and they’re still open.
place is pretty small, I didn’t really look around but they got the basics.

basic sex store. not the best selection around, the area (or the guy/​gal that orders the stuff [forgive my memory state, my «sex» hasn’t gotten on in months…]… seems to be obsessed with pastel colors… gross to my spiritual/​ethereal sages… also was caused {by subconscious [and sometimes conscious] neg tendencys to get 1 just a taaaad big… beautiful violet light shines thru, though…

A good place to get those little one-​use lube things and single condoms. They have a lot of toys and movies but seemed a bit pricey. I bought a full bottle of no-​frills lube here once and it was like $ 15.

I do think this place is a bit overpriced, but they have so many different things and it is all organized extremely well!
In my tip, I named the man that helped us, not creepy, very helpful, patient, and told us what his wife even liked… which can be helpful. If you are in the area like I was, then stop by. But it is not a place that you would go out of your way for.

Have a little patience… it was obvious that 99% of the group was sober save the bachelor!
Tried to go in a buy some stuff that was one the scavenger hunt/​bachelor dares…
No purchase until shift change. grrrrrr
Guy yelled at us not to touch anything… okay… we were actually going to make some purchases…
Ended up getting our stuff else where. I would skip.

I had actually lost hope of ever finding an issue of ‘Penthouse Forum’ (no, the Forum has moved to its *own* publication) up in North Beach. There it was, stashed in a nearly orderly way, too, in the little hideaway formerly significant to me only as the place where dudes picked up poppers before ambling across the street to the Lusty. La plus ca change, etc., etc., and yes, you can even get quarters for the meter. All kinds of meters.
I sometimes wonder if there’s other solo-​experiences an entrepreneurial minded gal could apply the «$ 6.99 for a DVD + your very own private viewing booth!» model to. Besides the, well obvious.

In a recent quest for a Naughty Nurse Nancy doll for a friend who recently got into med school – yay Scott-​o! – I visited (conservative estimate) ALL the sex shops SF had to offer. While not the fanciest sex shop on the block (literally – Big Al’s is virtually rightnextdoor), Kearny Books had a relatively low ick factor (nothing compared the Market Street get-​up that innovatively – tongue-​in-​cheek – offered traditional sex shop wares in a pawn shop setting). Furthermore, Kearny appeared to have a fairly broad selection of items, and, if the pricing of vinyl dolls is any indication of overall affordability, Kearny had the most reasonable pricing as well. In sum, if you’re ever in a bachelorette party gift pinch (or like situation), I’d make Kearny your first stop.
