I recently quit piano because I my former teacher had the methodology of a catholic nun teaching in 1950. I was browsing CL, not even looking for a new teacher, and saw Sean Barnett’s ad. Because he was willing to come to my house for the lesson and was really flexible (and cheap!) I decided to try taking up lessons again. Sean is a very humble, approachable teacher with a depth (and breadth) of music knowledge that seems endless. He’s classically trained and can talk theory if you want, but he provided insightful commentary on a lot of the «popular» music I listen to. I plan on taking lessons with sean as long as I’m in SF.
