As an Image Consultant, is priority #1 to give my clients the best of the best. Sean Stores is always my first on my list. I fall in love with each collection, and the quality is TOP. Their signature pieces are a «must» in a men’s closet. Don and Tom are extraordinary! They know, I mean they KNOW the line and you will always get the best advise from them. Style is personal and they make sure your experience there is as personal and special as it can be.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. I don’t know what the other people are talking about, the staff is so fun to work with, which is why I always go. Oh and the clothing is amazing.

I bought a suit here and although I’m generally happy with the purchase, the snooty attitude of one of the sales associates has made it impossible to return. You can literally feel the air of pretension throughout the room.

Their clothing selection is fine, and had the staff not been obnoxious, I’d be a customer. 4 Stars for the quality and selection of men’s attire. 1 Star for abrasive sales associates. In addition to hats, vintage, designer sunnies, shoes, gloves, timepieces and handbags, I collect and wear cufflinks. While contemplating a selection here, I was elegantly informed, «Those’re made from the guts of old watches. See those red stones? A lotta people don’t know, but those’re rubies.» A more observant person would have noted the Blanc Pain on my wrist and the numerous complications, perhaps choosing a more genteel approach. It is also the only ladies watch that I own; the others are also self-winding and mens pieces. While taking a closer look at the different jeweled«guts» — the same sales guy startled me by swooping in close and demanding, «Do you want to buy those cuff links?» His tone was so unnecessarily loud and brusque, he certainly meant to imply that I was going to stick a single cuff link into my pocket. Bookman tried on several sports coats, but was annoyed when I was treated poorly, and agreed that if the staff can afford to alienate would-be customers, they’re probably doing well enough without his money. Gauche.

Nicely tailored, close fitting menswear. Mostly classic looks. The price point is pretty good for an independent shop — around $ 120 for shirts, $ 200-$ 300 for blazers and jackets. Great sales in January — we got 40% off on shirts and 30% off on outerwear. The service experience, once it got going, was pretty great. Brian was very helpful once it appeared that we were seriously shopping. We hopped over to the Noe Valley shop for an item that wasn’t available in this shop and also had a nice experience there. Helpful without being pushy at both places. They are really good at visually identifying sizes. The clothes look fabulous and for once my boyfriend is in fitted shirts — hooray! I highly recommend this shop for shorter men. My boyfriend is about 5’6″ and all the shirts and jackets fit out the door without the need for tailoring. Conversely, this shop might run small for taller men.

My favorite clothing store in the world! If only I had unlimited clothing budget(hint hint wifey!!!) Sean sells a line of French designed and made clothing, primarily Emile Lafaurie. The line is dressy and upscale without being too formal. Great office wear, with a little bit of extra flair and style that makes it good for after work as well. Additionally the clothes have a really great attention to detail. I buy way too many sweaters, shirts and jackets here, and I have a couple of suits as well. However, every Sean item I’ve bought has received a compliment from someone or other soon after purchase. I can’t say that for other stores, so they are worth the price(which after all isn’t soo bad). Finally the two salesmen here are great. Really funny and very helpful, they aren’t shy to tell me what does and doesn’t look good on me, and help find outfits to match previous purchases.

Featuring mens clothing designed and made in Europe, the Sean stores nevertheless maintain an easy-on-the-eyes price point that matches their smart styling. Looking to avoid the overly formal experience, but still want to add a items that you can wear from the office to a cocktail party or even a casual dinner? I like the Sean line for this type of versatility. The Hayes Valley store is a clean cut boutique, pleasant to visit for atmosphere and attitude. Two thumbs up for the sweater and pants I bought last month!
