Very disappointed in the $ 60 haircut. I feel like I have a mullet and now that I reread a bad review I’m realizing my feelings are shared. These «layers» don’t make sense.

A good friend introduced me to Florencia and her stylish little studio. I have curly, bushy, frizzy hair. After years of long hair, I looked for the perfect short haircut (long front, short back). I found a few (marion cotillard like) and shew them to flor. She is very lively but concentrated and precise when she cuts your hair. I really love how she cut my hair (adding a little bit of spunk to my original suggestion). And so far I have only received positive reactions. Thanks!

I do not like leaving bad reviews for nice people, but I hope this will help Florencia better her skills, and her business, because it has a lot of potential. Florencia has a great personality and she is a perfectionist, but sadly, she lacks the execution skills and I feel like she is a very beginner stylist, which is surprising because I think she’s been in the business for awhile
I came in for a blow dry /​style. Right away it didn’t feel right. She shampooed my hair, and she did not do a good job with massaging the shampoo into my scalp. She didnt even wet or touch the hair at the nape of my neck. She needed to be much more thorough. She did not condition my hair, just a really quick shampoo which lasted 2 minutes.
Her blow dry skills were very mediocre. She kept messing up sections, and she doesn’t have a sense for customer comfort. Hair was blowing in my face, and she would keep the heat on parts of my scalp or ears for too long. But she was trying. When I left, I didn’t feel like my hair was blown out at all. Ladies, you know the feeling of wind in your hair and your hair feeling bouncy and clean. Not at all. She also put hairspray in my hair, but she sprayed it on in very concentrated areas. The whole experience just felt like she was not properly trained and that she was a beginner. I’ve gotten my hair done at beauty schools, where I felt like they know more about what they’re doing.
About the salon: this is a private at-​home salon. Very cute, but don’t come here thinking it’s a high-​end salon. Florencia is the only stylist here.

I cut my hair with Florencia Aleman a week ago for the fifth, maybe sixth time. I came to her salon with my son, a pre-​adolescent very concerned with the looks of his hair. She asked him several questions about his preferences and likes and at the end he left the chair with a smile in his face, posing to the mirror. Then, it was my turn to take the chair.
This time we changed a bit the style at Florencia’s recommendation. She suggested a style that adds more volume to my straight and thin hair. I love it!!! I look cute, modern, and professional.
I also do highlights with Florencia and she is excellent with color. I recommend Sculpture Salon also because of its ambience. It is a beautiful artsy hair styling salon in a living-​working space at Project Artaut, where a cool community of San Francisco artists lives since the 80s. The atmosphere is really pleasant, so is she, with her magic scissors, sculpting people’s hairs.

I totally trust Florencia’s skills when it comes to hair. She has done my and my family hair for long time, her salon is located in a very interesting place, inside a sculpture studio, warehouse style.
She is very personable and nice. PLUS she has a great sense of fashion for hair cuts and color style. She always gives my hair a pretty hip look. Very happy with her services.

Yes, Florencia is very nice and the space is a cool work in progress, but I got the worst haircut of my life.
So not just the haircut was awful, but the attention to service and detail needs to step up.
When she was ready for me, she asked me to take a seat, in a chair covered in hair, covered! She didn’t put a cape over me, while cutting, so I was then covered in hair. When she told me to sit for the shampoo, the chair was wet, I just stood there, so she could get the hint. She did a quick wipe, still wet…
The hair, I was so disappointed.
I said I wanted to keep the length, maybe something choppy around the face, with mirco bangs. I did say I was open to ideas, maybe to her that meant she could do anything? Well, she kept the length on the lower ½. The top half she cut about 3 inches short! I kid you not. It made no sense at all. It was almost like a grown out mullet. A friend said it was a modified Mrs. Brady. I was too horrified to say anything.
The color? Oh my god, awful. She kept most of my existing color, she bleached the middle portion, into a sort of pink/​orange tie dye. Awful!
I sobbed when I got home. Twice. I was embarrassed to leave the house, I thought people would be staring at me because it was so bad.
I got an appointment elsewhere 3 days later and chopped it all off into a pixie. So much for growing my hair out.

I was very hopeful when I entered this salon. what an awesome setting, and Florencia is so sweet and fun to be around. however, my results were awful and I’ve been wearing a ponytail and avoiding all mirrors.
I had a dark purple color in my hair and wanted a lighter tone, and a trim.
Despite my strong opinions against high lighting. thats what i got… and after expressing how much I like my hair long. I now have stripey orange hair that is way way way too short. god, its so short.
She offered to «fix» my hair but I cannot go back in there. I’ll be in bed for the weekend, or hiding in a hole i dug to hide my head.

I’ve been going to Florencia to get my hair cut for the past year, and I don’t think I’ll ever see anyone else. She actually listens to what I want — why do so many hair stylists not? — and I regularly get compliments from my friends and coworkers after I see her. I’ve already been asked several times for the name of my stylist. That’s pretty amazing, given that I typically don’t put a ton of effort into my hair.
For a little background, my hair is long and straight, and it’s typically pretty limp and weighted down. Florencia convinced me last time to try a few very short layers to give it volume and lift, and she was spot-​on. I’ve found my new cut!

Florencia is a perfectionist! Making the appointment was easy and I saw her within a few days. Her cute and cozy salon is tucked away in a live/​work loft. After letting her know what I wanted, she made some suggestions of her own and immediately I knew I could trust my hair in her hands. (Meeting a new person to do my hair is always nerve racking.)
The whole process took about 3 hours. Florencia took her time and wanted to make sure she was doing everything right.
One thing that surprised me is that she didn’t even have me look at a color book/​or color swatch. The final color was exactly what I was looking for!

This is long overdue– sorry Florencia!
I got my haircut by Florencia a few months ago now and I would recommend her 100%!!
I had shoulder length wavy/​curly hair and I was looking to go short, like maaaybe pixie short, but something really new and different for me. I arrived at Sculpture Salon, and although it was still in the works of being set up, everything you would need was there… all my best haircuts seem to result from this– smaller studio-​ish salon with a really experienced hairstylist. I brought a bunch of photos of hairstyles I thought might be cute on me, nothing decided yet, and Florencia gave me a lot of input on which ones might work the best for my hair type, face type, and maintenance style. I really liked that she was listening to what I was looking for and giving her experienced opinion, rather than someone who just gives me a celebrity-​style haircut that doesn’t really work for my hair or face, or is just the cookie cutter haircut they know is popular at the time.
Anyway, she began cutting away and styling and by the time she got the majority of it done, I was super excited– I looked really different and SO Cute! Then she suggested these little bangs, which I was hesitant about with my wavy hair, but they are actually really really easy to maintain and really add to the hairstyle. I also appreciated that she can cut wavy/​curly hair and didn’t assume in the end I would want it flat ironed– (urgh– I hate that; wavy/​curly hair is so pretty and she really accentuated that.) Overall, the haircut was totally a whole new look for me, loved it, and as soon as I walked in the door at work or saw friends, they gasped, noticed immediately and said «Oh my gosh, you look So Pretty! This is totally the haircut for you!» or some variation of that :) All of them asked for her card/​info.
I think the whole thing took less than an hour? And Florencia is really sweet! She is focused on her styling, but also can be chatty with you if you want it :) I will totally go back to her. Like I said, its been a few months now, and although its not AS perfect as it looked on day1, its still such a flattering cut for me. Its so different from anything Ive gotten before– some friends said they almost didn’t even recognize me, but that its really really cute and made my face look a lot younger… which I dont know if its a good thing or bad thing ;)
Summary: I didn’t know exactly what I wanted– Florencia listened and figured it out for me. A lot of experience, talent, and fun to spend time with! Super happy with the haircut to this day :)

After six months without a haircut, Florencia not only did a wonderful job with trimming my hair, but she also gave me a cute, updated version of my usual style. She made me feel very at ease.
I left extremely pleased with the experience and haircut and will be back for my future cuts.
