Hands down — this is one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had!
I’m currently finishing writing my thesis, which means spending a ridiculous amount of hours writing on my laptop and these past few days the pain in my neck+shoulders+wrist, just shot through the roof! Not the best timing when there’s still plenty of work left. Luckily Sarah had an opening today and after just 1 hour of massage I feel MUCH better.

Wow! Sarah is an intuitive healer! She specializes in deep tissue, which leaves me feeling not just relaxed but also standing straighter with better posture and relief from back pain for weeks. Every massage I get from other therapists simply do not compare. She is sensitive, professional and a true artist of massage.

I am sure that If Sarah had kept our appointment, I would have enjoyed the massage based on the Unilocal reviews, but she did not.
Here is how it went down:
New client. First appointment. Replacing an AWESOME CMT who it is too difficult to make an appointment with. Hoping to find a regular practitioner for massages 2 — 3 times per minth.
6:30p appointment booked almost a week ago.
Leave work early so I can get in a workout and relax before a great 90 min. massage. Arrive at 6:28.
Nondescript Noe Valley 3 — unit flat. No sign. Ring bell. No answer. Wait. 6:35. Ring buzzer. No answer. Call, leave message after suffering through a 5 min. greeting. Text her as suggested.
She texts back about 5 min. later: «Hi. Just getting phone reception again from an event in Tahoe… I’m sorry… The event had a few difficulties.» She offered me a reschedule and discount after blowing off our appointment for «an event in Tahoe» with no notice to me.
Here is my text response:
«Wow! That sucks Sarah. I have been booked for almost a week and was looking forward to it. If you are just now getting reception, I should have received some word hours ago, this morning or even yesterday. It is 5 hours to Tahoe for the godess’ sake. Sorry, the excuse of no reception is, frankly, lame. This is all very disrespectful of me. I will pass on the reschedule and discount, but will mention that you offered it in my Unilocal review.
You require 24 hour notice cancellation, so do your customers. Thanks anyway.»
At best… flaky and irresponsible or perhaps too busy with the many occupations she seems to have. At worst, disrespectful and entitled.
I will not be rescheduling an appointment and suggest you pass as well.

Sarah is amazing. I have been seeing her now for a couple of years and found her here on Unilocal.She understands exactly what areas are in need and how to treat them. She is very strong but also works methodically and with great care. I highly recommend her to anyone in the Noe area or beyond. I just had another massage today and I feel incredible.

I was looking for a last minute massage and found Sarah online. I wasn’t sure what to expect although the reviews seemed good. I will say this, if you are looking for the full pampered spa treatment with swedish type massage, she is not for you. If you are looking for someone with really strong hands who knows how to use them, Sarah is your girl. With my active lifestyle, when I want a massage, I really want someone to get in there, find my tension and provide relief. She certainly fits the bill and I will definitely be back.

Sarah does fantastic work and is a pleasure to talk to. I love that she works from her apartment, which gives a relaxed, homey feel that makes it even easier to immediately develop a sense of camaraderie and trust. She charges very reasonable rates, and I always leave feeling much more relaxed and happy than when I came in. As with all deep tissue massage, there is some soreness the next day, but it quickly passes, leaving you with relaxed, unknotted muscles :)
Sarah even lent me a book when I last saw her, which was so sweet! I can’t wait to read it.

Sarah is strong in every sense of the word.
Intense, healing and reasonably priced to boot. (Do be aware that the $ 40 for $ 50 deal does not reflect the hourly price — but seriously, who would charge $ 50 for an hour massage in San Francisco? Have you seen the rents here?)
Oh, and she’s got a great rescue cat named Calvin, who willingly accepted my pets. Nothing wrong with that.
Highly recommended, particularly if you need deep work as I did.

Have to try Sarah out to see if she was really as good as she said she was. Even though was a few minutes of sample test. I can tell when I am in the hands of a Professional ! She really can take my knots out of my shoulder even was just a 5 minutes trial run. Believe me, she is Amazing !

I crawled into Sarah’s studio in Noe Valley after having pulled a lower back muscle and being in pain for over a week. I was nervous that it would hurt during the massage so I was a bit apprehensive. However, my worries were unfounded. Sarah applied perfect pressure and worked deeply into my muscles, all while communicating with me about how I’m feeling. And I felt great! She is a true healer. She has also been a friend for a few years and see her perfect her calling is a true pleasure. You will enjoy meeting her.

I had been experiencing lots of stress and pressure to my lower back and glutes. After a brief conversation with Sarah, we went into our hour long session.
It was AMAZING.
Her hands are tender but firm. She worked deeply into my muscles to relieve any fluids and tension. I was a bit sore the next day, but made sure to drink plenty of fluids and hold a few yoga poses to stretch out my body.
I highly recommend a 60 – 90 minute session with Sarah healing hands.

Sarah is a phenomenal masseuse. I’ve been searching for what seems like an eternity for someone who understands the therapeutic benefits of massage for clients on an individual level. She is truly talented at deep tissue massage and makes my aches and pains seem like an old memory happily forgotten. Let me also mention that the price cannot be beat for the kind of massage she provides. I’ve gone twice now and am pretty much sold on the notion that I will be seeing her at least twice a month. The space she uses for massage is cozy and quiet for San Francisco and the fact that she also takes the time to discuss what she thinks after the massage is incredibly reassuring that she knows exactly what she is doing.
