Sam Lok is a small little Chinese place that we would have never found if there wasn’t an old lady out on the street with flyers telling us, «good food, cheap, you come eat!»
How could we say no?
We followed her down a flight of steps to the restaurant. It’s not by any means fancy, but it’s got an «authentic» type of atmosphere. They had a lot of «real» Chinese food, which is mildly scary to someone that is a bit picky like me, haha.
The food was great, though. They gave us a HUGE thing of soup to share & the portions were fairly large. We still talk about this place three years later & always say that the next time we’re in San Francisco, it’s an absolute must that we go back to eat here.
