Came here for a quick hk food lunch. The restaurant is spacious and clean, friendly staff. Food is hit and miss. Ordered both the hk style pork chop with tomato sauce over rice, and a french style oxtail. The hk pork chop was really bland and had zero flavor. They should have fried the pork chop, but it was griled and dry. The tomato sauce was ehhh, no flavor at all, it tasted like watered down tomato sauce from a can. The bed of fried rice on the bottom was also really bad. On a brighter side, the french style oxtail was delicious, a perfectly made tomato based sauce, rich and satisfying. My only complaint is that there wasnt that much oxtail meat, the dish is a little pricey, but at least it was satisfying. Like most asian places, some items are good, and some items are bad. I just wish they could make all their food taste good consistently.

Average food quality and average favor. The only place open until midnight. You get a large portion for the dish

I’ve been coming here for many years even after they changed owners and menus a few times. There Is never a mistake with my orders. But tonight. I ordered two baked HK style spaghetti with meat sauce to go. When I got home, I got one with the meat sauce and this other one with an orange sauce that was not sour like how it is usually. There must have been a mixed up when they were pouring the sauce… The one I got just tasted like a garlic orange sauce. Makes me want to just pour some ketchup into it so it can be sour. It just tastes like it belonged with another type of dish… They shouldn’t make two sauces so similar in ingredients and color. There will bound to be a mixed up…

The most expensive Hk style café in sunset district or San Francisco I believe. Curry beef stew over rice $ 14 or $ 15 forgot !! But come on, you charge everything expensive than other place, but the taste is worst than other place. Plus you don’t have any fancy interior. Why everything expensive than other café over $ 2-$ 5 different SMH

Very mediocre Chinese café style type of food. This is my second time here and I’ll probably come back. I wasn’t very hungry so I got the corn chowder with puff pastry. It wasn’t anything special. The puff pastry was perfectly baked on the outside but the inside was still dough-y. My brother got the baked clams and sausage spaghetti w/tomato sauce, this was actually very good! Clams had a weird texture but I don’t really have high standards for these places. My dad got deep fried pork cutlets w/spaghetti. Also nothing special. The place was packed during Sunday lunch time. Which was probably why the food came out pretty slow. My brother almost finished his dish before my dad even got his. Price was reasonable, came out to $ 30 for three people(complimentary soup)

If you want cheap, mediocre, greasy Chinese food, and willing to wait 35 minutes between dishes, while dealings with grumpy waiters offending upset customers, this place has it all. I have no idea why this place gets over 3 stars. Many tables around us are missing orders. While we waited, we could see people waiting over 30 minutes for missing dishes at the take out counter. What a dump! Congratulations you are the worst 1-star review I have ever given. Tip: stay away!

Came on a weekday around 11am, pretty empty. half hour later, FULLOFSENIORS surrounding our table. We were like, wtf is going on? a senior party or something? We then figured out that they provide senior lunch for those senior with lunch tickets. Literally, besides the staff and us, whoever sat in there were ASIANSENIORS who were talking in loud Taishanese! I feel like, am i going to the wrong place? or this is a lunch place for seniors gathering? Food came in a medium portion, price is kinda expensive comparing to the food. Never coming back at lunch time again… no more eating with old strangers. GOSH! maybe at night will be better.

We’ve been coming here for years and we keep coming back regularly. Definitely highly recommended! The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is very nice. I don’t usually take time to write reviews but i was shocked to see these 1 star ratings. We’ve been here so many times. This is a very nice and friendly restaurant and we’ve never had an unpleasant experience. If you give it a try you won’t be disappointed!

This place has some delicious food, but their service and attitude can use some major improvement. Every once in awhile I get a hankering for their delicious crispy chicken wings and a sandwich but every time I break down and order delivery I am left a bit disappointed with how I am treated as a customer. I have ordered delivery from them about 10 times and this is what I have noticed: First, if you don’t like mayonnaise(or are allergic!) don’t get any of the sandwiches. They will not listen if you request no mayonnaise. One time we put«no mayonnaise on the sandwiches, please!» FIVEDIFFERENTTIMES in various places when we made the order online. In turn, they slathered that mayonnaise on perhaps a bit more than usual. Many of our dinners have been ruined because of this. Second, their fries are usually soggy and under cooked. Some people like that, and I have no qualms with shoving them in the oven for a short while but this defeats the purpose of «ordering out» in my opinion Third, the delivery person will without fail call you and make you come out to the street to get your food. Even with very specific instructions and a house that is not difficult to see from the street, they usually can’t even park their car in front of my house and I have to wander the street looking for them. And they are often rude and unpleasant to interact with.

Was outside checking out the menu at night and decided to go in, then saw a mouse went inside at the same time. Of course, went to the closest similar place immediately instead.

Hum, what shall I say about the first restaurant delivery that pissed me off enough to write my first ever review on the internet? Let’s be fair, your food is alright, for the most part it’s what I expect for the price. But. Your. Delivery. Person… rude beyond reproach. First of all refusing to deliver to a person’s door in an apartment building… is a half-assed delivery at best. To mutter under your breath audibly in Cantonese insults during the call is not appropriate either. It shouldn’t matter if I speak Chinese or not(I do, thus the rage), but to go outright and call someone you deliver to a «cripple», *somehow* angered me enough to confront him about his F*cking behavior that night. If you want mediocre food at a relatively low price and are actively looking for a unbelievably bad, rude, overall sh*tty delivery experience, I suppose you can give them a call.

After coming here many times, i would not return after today. I usually do not care ATALL about service especially at a chinese restaurant, because as long as the food is good, i can deal with it. I was here for lunch and i can not believe how poorly we were treated. We couldn’t even flag someone down to take our orders, it took literally 15 minutes to get someone’s attention to take our orders. Food started to come out of order and EXTREMELY slow, the table that came after us got their orders, and all of it before we even got one of ours. We ordered green onion pancakes, fried rice, french toast, and baked spaghetti. The spaghetti came first instead of the pancakes and toast. After 10 – 15 mins of getting our spaghetti, the toast then comes and another 10 minutes or so the pancakes came. We never even got our fried rice because it was already 30 – 40 minutes, mind you, it wasnt even busy. I would understand if it was busy, but it was not. I asked to cancel it and they were like its already almost done, it took 40minutes? We were already disappointed and didn’t even want to take it togo, so they started giving us attitude. The table that got their food before us ordered the same fried rice, so why couldn’t you serve it at the same time? however, they were fast enough to give us the check lol I would never return again, cant believe how horrible the service was.

This little place has a good menu and very friendly staff. The Mongolian chicken rice plate is delicious. The place itself is strangely decorated and not particularly inviting but you won’t spend too much time there, because they’re quick. When you order you are brought a broth-type soup: skip it. But other than that, I would say to check this place out if you want authentic Chinese.

Had the #95 braised tofu. Omg!!! Awesome! The sauce and bokchoi was tasty fresh and made to perfection. Some of the best I’m had of tofu dishes. Also had mango shake. It’s thin and more like a milk drink.

We came here to get something quick and warm. I had the beef stew won ton mein and I enjoyed it. It’s a good place to get something quick or if where you go doesn’t matter. It’s almost like any Chinese café kinda deal. Service wasn’t bad either

Great service! Really good baked dishes. I always get the Macau style cutlet with white sauce and rice. And the XO turnip cake is so tasty Big portions and what you’d expect from a HK style café(not café in the American sense, more like a diner) Late hours too! Awesome

Ever since they switched owners, the place is definitely not as good and the Unilocal check in offer no longer works :/ I had the minced beef with egg rice and it was below average and tasted chunky. My dad had the baked pork chop rice which was better but it was strange that the baked dish was way faster than my rice plate. Waitresses and waiters are very sweet but definitely amateur at serving food. As one of the waitresses placed a bowl of soup on the table, she spilled some of it into my milk tea and had to replace it.

For some unknown reason, I’m pretty jazzed about this place, despite the rating. It’s definitely not the best but it will become our new go-to lunch place after church on Sundays. ESPECIALLY during the football season hehe Customer service is sucky and pretty much non-existent. The lady that took our older asked us each 4 times what we wanted. She kept getting it wrong! It literally made me not want to order anything else… Not sure if this is just me but when I opened the menu, I thought everything was a little overpriced. But I got the Fish Balls and Sausage Macaroni Soup. It was alright. I mean you can make it at home. The bowl was huge! It was definitely filling. The best part was the football game that was playing on the TV on the wall. And it’s great for groups. It’ll be our new ABC.

Food: Typical HK Café style, with HUGE portions. Most of the dishes were ordered were very good. My parents each ordered a version of their pork chops — the grilled version was very tender. The baked version was actually breaded and fried? Not sure if this was delivered correctly, but it was still nice and juicy. I ordered my fave ox tongue over spaghetti. It was on point. The tongue had been prepped nicely. It was SUPER tender and very delicious. Not fatty or tough at all! My brother ordered a grilled pork chop with fried egg. The egg is sunny side up, just be forewarned. Each meal came with an appetizer of butternut squash soup and dinner rolls. The soup was okay, but we sat right next to the room where they prepped it… straight out of the microwave. It also came with your choice of hot milk tea or hot coffee. Milk tea had condensed milk already added and maybe it was a cover up of something else, but my parents and I all had a stomach ache later in the night, most likely from the milk tea… eep! Dessert was included as well, your choice of yam soup or jello. Service: Could definitely use some work, we stood at the entry way for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I understand that no tables were free, but at least acknowledge your patrons! And the waitress definitely needs to understand the menu, my parents wanted to know the difference between HK style and Macau style to which she said«I don’t know, that’s a mistake on the menu» — what? An older guy walked over and explained the HK style is grilled while the Macau style is baked. Also…employees need defined roles. All the waitresses here not only take orders and deliver dishes, but they also pick up finished dishes and wipe down tables… and I’m certain they don’t wash their hands between the clean/dirty tasks. Gross. I’d consider coming again, I’d just pass up the milk tea next time.

12:30AM and I was hungry! My friend suggested we go to S & E since it stays open late and has pretty good Hong Kong food. He ordered the shrimp and beef over rice, I had some and thought it was okay. After adding some of the hot sauce, it went from okay to good. I ordered the pork chop with white sauce over rice. This came with a side of really good simple vegetable soup and a warm Hawaiin roll. My entrée was just what my stomach wanted and was extremely satisfying. Nice service, the credit card machine was not working the day we visited so bring cash just in case.
