Crabby old fart!!! Nothing worth getting in here lottery tickets in a vending machine

What a depressing place. It seems like the main business here is lottery tickets and scratchers. They have these locations on the ground floor of major buildings in the FiDi, but whoever runs these businesses doesn’t seem to be paying attention to current consumer trends, and appears to have no interest in increasing their profitability. At a time when take-out, organic salad places are popping up all over the FiDi, Russell’s still stocks the same junk food and sugary drinks. Why not devote some of that dreary shelf space to healthier snacks and drinks? There are so many options for healthy drinks alone, and no place in the FiDi provides a decent selection. The stores themselves(and this one in particular) all seem tired and run down. There’s even an odd smell of old junk food and energy drinks. I bought a pack of gum there in 2013 with a 2011 expiration date! They have«Headline Humor» greeting cards from the Bush/Cheney adminstration. They’ve devoted an entire shelf to «Sale» items, which are clearly items they couldn’t sell at regular price. For many weeks this included some off-brand chocolate that was a couple of months past its sell-by date. Why not just get rid of that stuff and stock more merchandise that people want to buy? One nice thing about having a store like Russell’s is that they offer some of the things an office worker may need on a moment’s notice. I realized one day that my finger nails needed clipping, and ran down to pick up a set of clippers. Amazingly, they are the only clippers I’ve ever owned that can barely cut through a finger nail without exerting tremedous amounts of force. I can barely cut the nails on my right hand, because my left hand isn’t coordinated or strong enough to wrangle these horrible implements. If someone with a scrap of business sense were able to get into one of these Russell’s shops, with a small budget to renovate them and bring in some new, fresh, healthier stock, I’m sure they would double their business easily.
