I was struggling between 3 and 4 stars. The Groupon facial was good(4 stars) but I am extremely averse to pushy sales, and I did feel uncomfortable saying no multiple times(but that’s just me!). It’s really hard to get an appointment, took a couple months to schedule at a convenient time. In addition, things seemed disorganized when I was there. We started late, then during my facial I could hear someone vacuuming and washing dishes, which is not so relaxing. FACIAL Rachel did a good job on the facial, she took her time and did a lot of blackhead extractions that I didn’t even know I had. I didn’t notice too much difference afterwards, though, so it wasn’t 5 stars. Sure, my skin felt softer for a day or two, but nothing earth shattering. No change in some minor discolored marks on my face. Rachel would leave the room for extended periods of time during the facial. I know some things need time to set in, but other facials occupy that time with a hand massage or something. Rachel physically left the room many times, and I was wondering if she was just catching up on office work while she was supposed to be attending to my facial. Perhaps letting me know how many minutes a treatment has to sit on my face is a better approach. There’s a lot of research out there that shows known waits are much shorter than unknown waits. As an FYI, I learned that estheticians cannot extract milia. I have milia diagnosed by my dermatologist. When I used to get facials in Chicago, they’d do it no problem. Apparently it’s not legal here. Not a knock against this company at all, since they’re just following the law. Just an FYI is all. SALES The part that I liked the least was the focus on follow-up sales. Honestly, my skin is not that bad, certainly not enough to justify spending $ 750. Rachel suggested $ 400 of chemical peels and $ 350 of product on two or three occasions during the facial and I always said no. Some people wouldn’t care too much about this, I just happen to feel really awkward when people try to sell me things, so I personally didn’t like it. Not a huge deal, I get it, it’s how she makes her living. In addition, I asked if she had any guarantees that the products and services she suggested would work, and she did not. When spending that amount of money, I’d want some sort of promise for results. ROOM The facial room and waiting room are decorated nicely in a glam theme. There’s a restroom. The facial table is heated, which is really nice. I could definitely hear what was going on outside of the room. In response to Rachel’s response: white heads and milia are NOT the same thing, as you imply by saying«Milia(whiteheads).» Milia are not acne related. It’s a little concerning that you’re lumping in white heads with milia. Even the wikipedia article says that milia are often confused with whiteheads, which is fine for a normal individual but I’d expect someone taking care of my skin to know the difference. White heads and milia are very different, both in terms of what causes them and how to treat them. If you’ve been diagnosed with milia, you know what I mean. I have had facials in the past with much better results, because they were able to get rid of my milia. Apparently, I have to go to the dermatologist to resolve that here in California. But I do not need to spend $ 400 on chemical peels, just $ 10 on a co-pay at the dermatologist office. And the removal is instant, it doesn’t take several weeks of peels. Like I said previously, I hadn’t counted this against her because she said it was a state law against lancing outside of a doctor’s office. It was more of an FYI. Her response is disappointing.

I come here to see Rachel. I think she is the only one you can see. I also see Alyssa and Olga at ModVellum their other place for various things. She is really good at doing facials and can be really sweet and makes sure you are comfortable. She isn’t as young as she looks. That is just all the peels she does. It’s very clean as well.

Had a facial with Rachel last week. I came in during the tail end of a horrible break out, with a wedding coming up. After an hour of relaxing and getting the treatment, my skin looked 1,000 times better. Now, a week later and it still looks great! Not only did Rachel give me a great facial, she also counseled me about specific needs for my skin — saying that i was moisturizing too much and not exfoliating enough — and that I needed to drink more water!(which is true) I will definitely book another apt soon!

It’s my 3rd visit to Rachel and my results are completly astounding. I never understood the importance of building your own collagen until I had some treatments with this skincare shaman. She speaks in another tongue practically… she’s so well versed. I had to wait a few weeks to get in with Rachel. I was concerned about whether or not I would wind up going elsewhere but because my nurse goes to her I figured she had to know what she was doing. My goal? To get rid of the late 30’s fine lines and wrinkles. The beginning of the end… as they say. She totally rocked my skincare world with the best facial I’ve ever had. She makes her own skincare because she is a formulator and I love the fact the everything is just a drop or two thats needed. I got the convertable peel package which includes everything even the products. It really takes the thought out of the process. You’ll really trust Rachel. She has a ton of credibility and I totally listened to her podcast before I went. I highly suggest doing that as well.

I’ve been underwhelmed by many estheticians in the past. Until I came to RB. What lured me in was her podcast which another business owner told me about. I’m an entrepreneur as well! I love smart women and certainly Rachel is one of them. How could I not love the open space she does her facials in? Not only was my chemical peel as painless as chemical peel can be, but I also had the Best Facial the first time I saw Rachel. I’ve been alternating between the Marina Regina Stem Cell facial and the Medical peel. It’s not a good time I’m looking for… its good skin I’m after. I have to agree with another reviewer. Go see her stat!

I love this place. It’s like a little pop up suite in ModVellum. I’m not quite sure what Rachel did to my face but like half of my pigmentation left in a few sessions. I’m a lot less wrinkly as well! The space is quite clean and the facial was very strategic containing lots of steps. I got the package with the products. This is the best facial I’ve ever had.

I was in California 3 weeks ago and was able to get a facial here… I had the Amrina Regina treatment and all I can say is WOW!!! my skin is STILL smooth! I usually get facials every other month and this was by far the BEST facial I ever had. I use the ModVellum products religiously and my skin has never looked better. Thank you Rachel!

Absolutely fabulous! Rachel is a star and I just love all the skincare she has got me on. She isn’t about pampering. She’s about getting rid of your ice pick scars, lines, and pigmentation. She does the best facials and chemical peels possible and is a highly trained and experienced esthetician. This is NOT the kind of facial you can do at home yourself. You must go see her now.
