Super nice bar! Clean and eclectic and new with a pool table(even though we didn’t play pool) we love Felina & Roxanne so cute and super spunky! Great drinks and they make great recommendations!

This place has only been open for a few months. I’ve only been there a couple of times and each time I felt like the bartenders, Amy and Felina, were great. Amy even remembered what I had the ordered the first time I came there. I like the fact you can reserve seats and bring in outside food. They have several large flat screen TVs around the bar and one above the fireplace in the far back end of the bar. Definitely coming back to watch more Bay Area sports.

Johnny, the wanna be bar tender is horrible. Does not know how to treat people in a kind manner. Looses his patience by the order of a drink. I truly think he missed his customer service class. Shame on the owners to have such person behind the bar. However this is not a reflection on the female bartenders they’re awesome and always greet me with a warm smile that’s why I’m giving 3 stars cuz this place could be a 5 star without HIM!

Rocks den is cool as fuck. I decided after my second time there that I wanted to become a pool shark so it’s a good place for me to practice. The bartenders are all cool. So far I met 3 of em. They got screens and they always got the game on. Any game. They got a little couched lounge area in the back with its own tv. The bathrooms are clean . the happy hour has good prices and the music is cool. they have specials for splash brother 3pointers sometimes maybe all the time. the crowd always be a cool little mix of people with jobs. Friendly people so far. it’s like cheers in that way in that the bartender always remembers my name. *the little snack baskets with the trail mix type stuff comes in handy. You can bring your own food tho. I wish they had a movie night

This place WAS tight until I got forgotten about. I tried writing a wordy review to completely captured what happened and all of the circumstances surrounding the interaction. After a few minutes I realized that it just isn’t worth my time. Long story short I walked into this place, had a seat and placed an order for a drink. While I was doing this I was interrupted by another patron asking for a refill and the barkeep just didn’t bother to finish with me OR make my drink. He made the refill for the lady, closed tabs and collected tips. Made other drinks and had a conversation with another customer, but couldn’t pull a beer out of a tap for me. It wasn’t crazy busy, and working in the service industry I understand that these kinds of things happen, but the thing that really gets me is that other people got their drinks and I didn’t get mine. It’s my Monday and I needed my medicine!

I’ve lived in the are for 10 years and we NEVER drink out here… but now we’ve found out watering hole. Go here and get the jalapeño margarita if you dare!

Stumbled upon this gem tonight as we were headed to dinner! Service was excellent! Drinks were on point and the place overall was clean, open and fun! Can’t wait to come back and watch sport game(s) on their multiple big-screen tv’s located throughout the bar. This place is truly a gem in this neighborhood!

See Felina for the Sosa La Picosa, see Johnny for the Manhattan, and ask Amy for her Armenian Firecracker. Hot damn those drinks are good! Super stoked to have this bar in the neighborhood. Good ambiance, good company, good drinks!

After my trip to Florida, then New Orleans, then Napa, on my first Friday night back in San Francisco, and my date and I mutually bailing on each other, I wanted something local. As I went to pick up Sushi Raw, I noticed a sign I had never seen before: Rocks Den. The hell did this nice new sign come from? I take a peak in and notice a bar. A new bar! I grabbed my to go order, and as I walked past I said«It’s Friday, and this is a new bar. Let’s do it!» The bar itself is pretty long, with a few tables against the opposite wall, and plenty of space in between if this place starts hopping. There is also a pool table, and a back room with a huge TV, but there are plenty of tvs, which is why I guess this classifies as a sports bar. The staff was really nice, explaining that they were celebrating their 9th week open. Their tap list isn’t that huge, and their beer bottle list only adds a few, but they had plenty of liquor. With the environment, this definitely stands out from Pissed Off Petes and the other dive bars in the area. And I told them straight up this would become a weekly stop. I didn’t see a drink menu, but got a standard whiskey and coke that wasn’t watered down. It was on the house as it was my first time as a local and left a $ 10 tip. I could see this becoming a 5 star if I become a regular. I just like that I have Glen Park Station and now Rocks Den depending on which side of 280 I find myself.

Awesome spot for drinks and watching games! The Bartenders are really friendly, unlike most bars in the city! The drinks are great and I can always count on Felina to pour me the best mule I have had! Oo and I can’t forget the pool tables in the back that adds a great touch. I’ll definitely be back!

Gone are the days of Cotter’s Corner, a dark, creepy looking bar with no more than five patrons. The new manager did a fantastic job upgrading the bar inside out — the interior is nicely updated with several beers on tap and ample TVs for your sporting needs. I frequent this place almost once a week, just to support the local neighborhood, and I’ve never been disappointed. So far, my bartenders has been the manager and Johnny, both are cool dudes, super chill and friendly. I can count on Johnny to whip me up a bomb ass martini! Although they don’t serve food here, they encourage you to grab food from the local eatery and have some drinks here. If you’re in the Excelsior/Mission area, definitely give this place a try!

I’m a local, and this is the best place in the area right now. Hands down. — Clean — Great selection of good quality spirits(Yamazaki /Macallan 18) — The walls and ceiling are beautiful, great décor — Bartender was incredibly friendly With that said, just a couple of little improvements could be made to change the game and make this a GREAT place to come even if your not from the area. — where is a cocktail menu? Let’s get a creative cocktail program in here people will love it! — the glassware seemed amiss for what they were pouring. Such great spirits in such bad glassware. If you are going to call it the rocks den. have some nice cylinder«rocks glasses»(old fashioned glasses) great whisky belongs in something better than what you brought it to me in. — go back an touch the last 5 or 10% minor details that you finished cheap and bring this place into the stratosphere. –The copper bar is gorgeous but it needs a touch of adhesive to not be standing up a half in at one of the seams which made our drinks wobble all night. – the spotlights on the top shelf that should be shining on the ultra premium bottles in the little cubby holes shined in my eyes when I was trying to watch the TV next to them, point them in the right direction, or dim them. Or cover them. – brand new bathrooms, and the seats on the toilets don’t lift, their is paint running down the subway tile from its first paint job – the hooks under the bar to hold a ladies purse are too small to hold a ladies purse – I don’t get the bar stools… like the glasses. just seemed like they spent too much on TVs and saved on the details(outside of the back area, which was being used by a group of friends who are in the original photos of the pre-opening, so I’m assuming friends of the owners) I would have LOVED to have been back at those sweet chairs and fireplace looks like the made that a top notch but it was taken all night. I’ll for sure be back because it’s the best thing going in our neighborhood I’m satisfied with it, even impressed based on what else is out there in the Excelsior… but if you want people to pack this place from far and wide your so close to perfection you don’t have to change the spirits. You don’t have to change the employees just get a incredible cocktail menu, and finish the details.

So it turns out that they are working on their cocktail menu, so I’m a bit confused about the below reviews. Maybe they had a cocktail menu that they got rid of? Maybe not? Anyways, if you’ve ever been to the Excelsior, you’ll realize. there’s not much. There was Broken Record, but the chefs left to open Ricky Bobby and we’re back to almost nothing. So it’s always a welcome sight to have a new swanky looking bar. Rocks Den is a chill new place. They have a ton of TVs so was pretty great place to get a drink and watch the warriors game. It’s new so it’s definitely clean and the vibe is a bit chill. Johnny the bartender was nice, and definitely took the time to learn names(even if it was just looking at your credit card). My friend got a pineapple mojito(they were $ 10) and thought it was okay. A bit too sweet, and tasted a bit watered down. The beer on draft was a bit lacking, but they had bottled beers at $ 3/each; which is a steal. I think the mixed drinks(whiskey sours, rum and cokes, etc.) is the way to go. Or shots. Shots were $ 3 each, and at that price, let the drinking games begin. Would definitely go again, but wouldnt be my favorite bar. But if I was in the neighborhood and needed a drink. Would consider this place.

Just went to this place yesterday night. The physical location is lovely: everything is so new it gleams and so clean it shines. The bar is well-stocked, and with nicer/higher quality liquor than anywhere else in this side of the Excelsior. I had a Manhattan last night, and the bartender(Johnny) was very knowledgable about his liquor, and had quite a strong pour. I’ll definitely be back. Only gripe: wish it wasn’t a sports bar. Kind of makes it like a more high-end version of other places in the neighborhood.

Came here to watch the Warriors game and what a treat. Comfy couches, strong drinks and a really good sound system. Drinks I had: — Frisco Mule — taste like Moscow Mule(yummy) — The Jackie Ohhhhhhh– refreshing. Vodka with a ton of different fruits. The boyfriend had — — Native Fashion — my boyfriend loves Burbon. If you love an old fashion, get this! Trust me– yum. Night cap– last drink of the night — Dark and Cloudy. Ginger Beer!!! I love Ginger Beer! Overall, this is a fun place to be for groups. We discovered by walking by the neighborhood. Can’t wait to come back and go Warriors!!!
