Thought the coffee was awesome, and the service was good. A bit hard to find and the menu isn’t exhaustive of all the things they make.

A coffee shop, located in the middle of an urban plant nursery? You have to be kidding me! When we were visiting our friends in SF, they took us to Flora Grubb Gardens to shop around. Being that I didn’t want to spend an arm & a leg on overpriced succulents & plants, I opted to buy a coffee & pastry at Ritual and relax on their back patio. 2 iced coffees &2 pastries roughly came to $ 14.00. Yes it’s a bit on the pricey side, but when the coffee & pastries are both equally as good, I can’t really complain. Their iced coffee is strong & sweet, while their homemade pastries are to die for. Do yourself a favor and order their homemade oreos — we easily could have eaten 5 of these. Their salted chocolate chip cookie was also decadent. This place is a hipsters, DIY-er’s, coffee lovers dream. I mean, even if you don’t buy anything here, enjoy sun bathing on one of their many patio chairs that are scattered throughout Flora Grubb. They have parking and a variety of plants & knick-knacks to look at.

I came to this location originally because I heard this place was next to a greenhouse, garden and man, this place is awesome. The coffee store is located inside the Flora Grubb store and this location is everything :) The coffee here is similiar to any other ritual coffee roaster. I ordered the 8oz latte with 1 shot and the total came out to $ 3.75. I feel like the latte here is somewhat cheaper than other places because most latte’s are upwards of $ 4 – 5. I like how this ritual coffee store is more than a store because it’s essentially located inside a garden. Feel free to walk around the store and explore some of the plants and art pieces. I would definitely come back to this location to show my other friends around!

Really beautiful atmosphere. Coffee was great, the barista was a bit unfriendly but the coffee made up for it.

Tucked away in this cute little garden/nursery called Flora Grubb Gardens this is an urban oasis right in the middle of baypoint. The nursery has a huge selection from lemon trees to succulents, there is even table space for folks to create their own succulents. Besides serving ritual coffee my absolute favorite,(try the cherry bomb ice brew) they have benches and chairs and cute little decks for folks to sit and enjoy. We along with our pooch found a cute little sitting area to enjoy our coffees and with the sun shining brightly it was a perfect fall morning in SF. Prices are a little bit higher than what I usually spend(I shop for my plants at Home Depot and Lowes) but the nursery space is absolutely wonderful to enjoy and to get great ideas!

What a wonderful place! While you shop for plant you can enjoy coffee from the wooden counter at the back corner of the shop. Awesome pour over coffee and cool plants. Plants are beautiful and inspiring to look but a little pricey.

Copied from my review for the Flora Grubb Gardens that houses Ritual’s coffee bar: I went here on August 21st after reading that it housed an amazing collection of plants and also had a fancy Ritual Coffee Roasters coffee bar… so you could order your organic mocha and drink it next to a plant made happier by your presence. Ok, I might be projecting, but if you like caffeine, baked goods or so much beauty in the plant world your eyes will become fatigued, get to this place asap. Your urban soul will be restored. I almost maxed out my iPhone taking so many photos. Yes, I was one of those hipster annoyances wandering around and crouching over leaves and lawn furniture to get the perfect shot of flowers or brightly-painted tables in a tropical palette of colors or a fly with a glimmering green body. Sit in the pricey furniture and relax. Standouts are a couple very ergonomic, curved benches(Helios«lounge» and«love chair» by Galanter & Jones) that might be turned on to heat your bum on your visit. I would buy the heck out of that lounge if I had an extra $ 7,900 but I am not sure my butt is worthy. Feasting your eyes on all this beauty is free though, and the plants are gorgeous, healthy, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and helpful, from the barista to the guys working to take care of the plants. Grumpy cat: There is also a bona fide grumpy cat, not identical in appearance to the famous cat, but she definitely does NOT want you to pet her. She will look at you with distaste and then cast her eyes to worthier views like the coffee bar. Bast in her scorn then go find yourself a plant to pet instead.

Coffee in a garden? YESPLEASE! This place is fantastic. I didn’t want to leave. I considered getting a second cup of coffee. This nursery/garden is beautiful and has some gorgeous displays and garden ideas. Ritual is always great. The combination, though… I could not ask for more. Just make sure you’re looking for the Flora Grubb Gardens sign — I drove past this twice looking for Ritual. There may be a sign, but I didn’t see it.

My girlfriend and I were really excited to try Ritual coffee even if it wasn’t their main café, but we were met with disappointment. It was one of those hot summer days that really begged for a cool cold brewed coffee. I began by asking the barista if they had some cold brewed coffee, and if so what coffee beans they used for the drink. I asked because I like to know what I’m drinking and what to expect. While I don’t consider myself a coffee expert, I roast my own coffee at home so I knew a thing or two. He couldn’t quite tell me what the beans were, which was fine with me, but the following wasn’t. After inquiring about the beans, I then ask about the tasting notes I should expect. He snickered and rolled his eyes at me. Condescendingly, he says that I won’t be able to tell the taste notes and it would just taste chocolatey, but not smokey. He sort of just becomes dismissive of us after that so that was not cool. We just hurriedly ordered and tried to my best not to talk to this fellow anymore. While waiting for the drinks, a little kid got into an accident resulting in a head wound. His dad goes up to the barista and asks for wet paper towels, but he only gives him one towel! The dad and other people eager to help had to keep asking for more towels repeatedly before he gave more. It was so bad. The place and décor was nice as it was located in a nursery, but the service was not good. We got our drink and got away ASAP. This post got two stars solely for their coffee.

This spot is an oasis of verdant life in a concrete suburb. I love this café, though it’s better for socializing than work, since the chairs aren’t comfortable, there’s no wifi, and the only seating is outside. But what a patio, wow. Gorgeous garden setting and great(strong!) coffee. The attached garden store, Flora Grubb, is expensive but the staff is knowledgable, the displays are gorgeous, and the resident cat is a chrmer.

Hands down the coolest coffee shop idea ever. If you like drinking great coffee in a beautiful setting with an incredible assortment of chairs, benches, and stools to lounge on and a bunch of happy green thumbs lugging around plants then come here. If you want to be an antisocial sardonic hipster on a MacBook writing angry Unilocal reviews the color and sunlight may not be for you. If you are antisocial it’s a good place to veg out and go into stoner mode. Oh and this has got to be the easiest parking of any of the«craft» coffee shops in the city.

Pay-by-the-adjective coffee that brings together a complex balance of pretentiousness, gullibility and disposable income. Ritual’s Wolf Moon espresso is «strong, mysterious, rejuvenating,» «dense like cake or exotic sweets,» «wonderfully rich and effervescent,» «tingling with Vanilla Coke-like acidity,» «fruity,» with«hints of goji berry, preserved plums, persimmon, even spiced cider» and«notes of… Chinese hawthorn» — a taste reminiscent of German“Lebkuchen” and Roget’s Thesaurus. Meh. Among other things, Ritual provides the names of the producers; the altitude at which the beans were grown; temperatures, brewing ratio, pump pressure, days rested… What they don’t provide is an especially remarkable cup of coffee.

I think a lot of these reviews are actually meant for Ritual’s other location. This location has no indoor seating as it is in a non enclosed greenhouse. The only seating here is outdoors, but it doesn’t seem like a place to do work or anything. It seems to be more like a place to grab your coffee and look around/buy some plants. Coffee is just as good as the other location though. It’s just a different atmosphere.

Coffee + greenery is just about the most amazing idea ever. The nursery was gorgeous, there was plenty of parking, and the coffee was delicious of course. The coffee bar is small, and the line can take some time to get through. But all the better, so that you can stand around and really admire the beauty around you. You might even be inspired to take a little green friend home.

Now shopping for beautiful plants and coffee? I can get used to this… Whoever thought of this is a genius. Enjoying coffee in an urban jungle is. It’s refreshing coming to a place like this where you can get a delicious pour over and warm your buns on one of the heated benches! No longer are you forced to sit in a coffee shop surround by the constant buzz of everyone around you. This whole experience turns into an escape from the city and more of a place for you to relax enjoy the view or even a book. I definitely love this ritual location over all the other purely for this reason. So go enjoy some coffee and check out some beautiful furniture and plants!

What an awesome coffee place. I’ll keep this short as picture is worth a thousand word. So go see the«pix» here and you’ll get a better understanding what I’m talking about. It was dead on perfect timing for me to visit this place as I was recovering from a hangover and I think my BFF and myself overstayed our stay like«Goldilock» trying their many lounge chairs(for sale) at Flora Gardens. lmao: p The actual coffee shop itself is way in the back, way in the corner. It was cool to watch them make coffee pouring one at a time. I had the cappuccino of course and it was good. We also had their chocolate-less brownie which had a very interesting texture and taste to it. I was educated that Ritual Coffee specializes on «Light Roast» only. So if you are a dark roast fan, this will not work for you. If you are looking to unwind and relax and want a room with a green view, come visit Ritual Coffee at this location. There are plenty of chairs to hangout either at their coffee patio or at Flora Garden’s lounge display that they have for sale! There are plenty street parking and a few private spots in front of their business. PS — they have several locations to serve you including one in Napa and I’ve been to the one on Valencia Street. Cheers~

Such a cool location for a coffee shop! You’re surrounded by plants and flowers. If you want to get your coffee and relax outdoors with nature, instead of in a cramped coffee shop surrounded by hipsters staring at laptops, this is the place to go. Coffee is excellent, of course, because it’s Ritual. Nice, convenient location for me living in the Dogpatch — it’s way easier to park here than it is in the Mission! Granted, our friend kept having to pop out to make sure his bike wasn’t getting stolen off of his car’s bike rack, but that’s just part of the quirks of being in Bayview. I didn’t feel uncomfortable parking and leaving my car outside the coffee shop. Definitely going to come back here on a beautiful sunny day when I want to drink coffee surrounded by plants!
