Gallo pinto taste like crap, service was horrible, they didn’t have chilero, then I was trying to order all these different items from the menu but they didn’t have any…

True hole in the wall Mission goodness. If this is authentic Nicaraguan food, I can get down any day of the week. Five stars for the food. SO had the camarones rancheros and she really enjoyed them. I had one of their marinated steak preparations and it was great. The plantains, which seem to be a side on every dish, are just as I remember them from Central America. Oh hell yes. The service — I’m pretty sure this is a one-guy-one-restaurant scenario. So if you walk in and there’s nobody to be found, don’t be dissuaded! The proprietor is actually very friendly and helpful, but he’s doing too many things at once between front and back of house. Pretty sure he understands this, so don’t be shy: flag him down! Your stomach will thank you.

Hole in the wall place but extremely delicious food. I had the asada and prawns three times now and every time it gets better. My Spanish is very limited but the people were friendly and helpful. I enjoy going here whenever I can

Good food overall but nothing stood out. We had to ask several times for what we ordered and it was a slow day. They blast the music over the sound system. Not enjoyable when you are trying to have a conversation with friends and family.

This weekend evening, I ordered oxtail soup(sopa de res) and my husband ordered pork plate with pickled cabbage, plantain rice red beans They were delicious, good Latin music and great DJ. We bought six fresh made nacatamales to go and we can’t wait to try it tomorrow and save the rest in the freezer for next week.

I was hesitant because it only had 3 stars… My husband is from Nicaragua, and we’ve had some fine a** cooking from his family. This place was just like going to visit the family. Authentic and delicious. I had the carne Asada, my husband had a pork dish, both were delicious and came with plantains and queso frito. You MUST try the queso frito! Love this place and even ordered some Nacatamales to go for his mom, aunt, cans cousin, who visit us tomorrow. Great place will definitely be back!

Just walked out. We sat down and after waiting for 20 minutes my husband had to request a menu. 10 – 15 minutes later my husband flagged down the waiter and put in our drink order. They were out of two beers my husband wanted and out of my rose wine. We told him we were ready to order and he said the waitress would take our food order and that she was on her way. 15 minutes no waitress, she was sitting down at a table talking to the people there. It was at that point we got up and walked out.

I like Rinconcito Nicarguense. My favorite dish is the enchiladas Nicas, kind of like a deep fried ground beef empanada. I always get fried cheese as well, which I think is unique to Nicaraguan cuisine, at least I’ve never seen it served at any other Central American restaurant. The Nacatmal is very tasty. I’ve had lunch there at least twenty times, and was always pleased. I don’t live near any Nica restaurant now, and I miss my Nica goodies.

We just finished eating at this restaurant. Having eaten at just about every Nicaraguan restaurant in the Bay Area we thought we would give Riconcito a try. We were very disappointed. The music was so loud that it was hurting our ears. I have heard lower levels of music at dance clubs. We could barely hear ourselves think much less speak. The service was terrible. I asked for a simple glass of ice water but I had to ask for it 3 times. The cacao wasn’t the best I have had in the Mission. My guests ordered Baho which was way too salty and the meat was way too fatty. I had the largest plate they make with steak, pork, gallo pinto, cabbage salad, fried cheese. In my opinion the quality of the food is better at Las Tinajas. I won’t be returning.

Food was decent but there is better in the neighborhood. As in most Nicaraguan restaurants I got the house special which is of course, strips of meat(Steak and Pork), fried cheese, pico de gallo, fried plantains, curtido, etc… For this dish I much preferred it at Oye! Managua. Service is faster and friendlier and the atmosphere is much warmer.

you HAVETO try their Pescadito Frito!(enough for two adults) Very friendly and prompt service, Ramoncito has worked at other Nicaraguan restaurants and have also run his own small business cooking and serving typical Nicaraguan food, so he knows how to delight you with authentic Nicaraguan food. The price is right! The place is looking a bit better every time i visit. Definitely recommended!

This Nicaragüense restaurant is delicious. The owner use to work at two other Nicaragüense restaurant as a server, so he really knows how to run a business. I went and tried el pescado frito(fried fish), came with salad, rice, and plantanos(fried plantains). It was delicious, tasted better than some of the pescado fritos I’ve had in Nicaragua. I also ordered some Nacatamales to go. Before I talk about the Nacatamales, I must let you know that my grandmother use to make them and sell them to people not only in the Mission but all over the city, for many years. I use to help her buy all the stuff for them and help her make them, so I’m a con osier when it comes to Nacatamales. The key to making them delicious is la Masa, and the Masa on these Nacatamales from this place was delicious. It included all the ingredients that a Nacatamale should, rice, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, raisins, prunes, olives, capers and red chilli. The Nacatamales were cooked right, not dry at all. These Nacatmales are the closing thing to the ones my grandmother use to make. You gotta try them.

Congratulations in opening a new Nicaraguan Restaurant on 24th St. «restaurant row». Nice open area with plenty of room within tables so you don’t feel crowded. Ramon the owner greets you and also waits on you. He takes the time out to tell you what is the specialty of the house. I had Pescado Frito Estilo Tipitapa and it was great. It was served with a side dish of white rice and tajadas. The snapper was served with a sauce made of tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. It was perfectly seasoned. Just like they make in Nicaragua. It comes with a salad but Ramon honored my request to substitute the green salad with the typical Nicaraguan style cabbage salad, Kudos! I will definitely go back and try other dishes. Do give this new place a try!

Good spot to get some comida nica. El chancho asado is good, great service, good music on the jukebox. Parking can be a challenge so going mid week might be better. However you get that mission feel being in the heart of it. I would recommend you go there to eat.
