I recently had the opportunity to search for day care facilities for a friend in San Francisco. I called the neighboring hospital and a Pediatrician near CPMC Children’s Hospital campus. I was not sure about my choices however; Rholene’s Family Day Care came up in both of my conversations regarding references. My friend happens to be going through a difficult time and could not spend a lot of money on Day Care. Along with the remarkably«excellent» rating given for Rholene’s Family Day Care, came the most delightful and refreshing comment I have heard about a business or person in a long time. I was told that Rholene and her daughter, provided excellent care for children and, «charged clients based on their ability to pay,(a sliding scale). Also, they had been known to provide care for children who’s parent(s) could not afford to pay anything at all. In this day of corporate greed and self-preservation run riot, it is certainly nice to hear someone is setting the example for all of us: treating people with the appropriate level of care and concern we remember from our parents and refer to as «common decency.» A win-win-situation for all experiencing the good fortune of Rholene’s Family Day Care. Clearly, Rholene, her daughter, and Heather, are remarkable women, people and day-care providers. What kind of example am I setting for others on a daily basis… What kind of example are you setting for others on a daily basis? _____That is the question.
