I saw Dr. Taber from 06 – 08. Like the first poster said, he is very thorough, easygoing and not at all pushy. He listens when you mention past bad interactions with medication, and he knows his Rxs and Dxs. I liked seeing him more than I liked the therapist I was seeing at the time, I wish he had been a therapist too. This is in contrast to a doctor at UCSF who erroneously misdiagnosed me with bipolar and nearly killed me with lithium. Dr. Taber knows his shit, and he’s a very compassionate person.

Dr. Taber is wonderful! I have great difficulty with seeing a stranger and telling him my problems. Dr. Taber immediately made me feel at ease. He listened compassionately, asked lots of questions and is thoroughly knowledgeable about psychiatric meds and treatment of depression. He explained each medication he considered as potentially applicable to my needs and the pros and cons of each, crossing off the ones that didn’t make the cut. I left with a profound sense of relief that I’d taken the right step in seeing a psychiatrist. I’ve gone to him for a couple of years and have never once wanted to see anyone else. Unfortunately, I have to now as he is on extended leave – involuntary as far as I know. But since he has no reviews, I think it only fair that the world knows about this awesome doctor that has made such a difference in my life.
