All the staff — from the bartenders, waitstaff and busboys are so attentive and friendly –you guys ALL make this restaurant stand out. Great service in a town where your basic service«How to Serve People 101“is almost non-existent. Food is also pretty good and prices are very fair. Old school, heck yah but relaxed and fun.

Perry’s is classic San Francisco but I have no idea what really keeps this place open? The ambiance is nice and it has a family vibe so I am not opposed to going but every time I go I am slightly disappointed… the food is just NOT that good. I’ve gotten the following: –California Benedict –Veggie Burger –Cheeseburger –Club Sandwich All 4 are pretty hard to mess up… everything was a solid C in my book. Also, the California Benedict arrived cold. Gross!

I wanted to really like Perry’s. I was all set up perfectly to fall in love with the place. Slight hangover from NYE. An empty stomach and willing to settle for anything open in the neighborhood. As expected there was a wait but we were sat about 10 minutes less than the estimate from the hostess. This might have been the one or two bright spots we had that day. Our server was friendly but throughout the service there were constantly things we never had available to us or had to ask for repeatedly. We were told potatoes came with all the dishes and later found out that some of the scrambles did not come with them. This was clearly not mentioned on the menu so it’s hard to blame our server for that mistake. We didn’t get utensils on time and when we did we only got ONE knife between the 4 of us. We made due buttering our toast with our one knife. Our knife was a trooper throughout the meal as we shared him for a couple things. Other little things kept our visit from being pleasureable like curdled cream and missed drinks. I will say our server was on top of the booze when we asked for it. The food was disappointing for all of us to the point we had to find something else after to please our palettes. In the end none of us were able to look at the other and convince ourselves that we’d ever come back. Hopefully if you read this you don’t have the experience we had.

I have been familiar with Perry’s for 30 years; It has been at least 20 since I last visited the restaurant. The food and the drinks were exactly as I remembered them — very good and satisfying. It is the waitstaff that has created my big complaint. The English-learning staff does not have a clue and is pretty much MORONS! Several orders delivered to our table were not correct, busboys slamming food down then shoving them across the table to the intended guest, and on and on… Get the picture? Make sure you sit at the bar or have an ENGLISH-SPEAKING waiter/waitress to serve you.

Very good food, and excellent customer service. Andrea is friendly and has a great timing when we needed her to bring more drinks. Prices are so reasonable!!! We’ll be back for sure!!!

Nice atmosphere and decent service, but the food was just okay. Half of my eggs benedict arrived with a hard overcooked yolk. I told the waiter, and he just shrugged. Oh well.

Perry’s is a great place to have comfort food, watch a game and enjoy friends. The breakfasts are good as is the dinner menu. It’s a noisy place so be prepared. I just wish they sold those great embroidered Perry’s baseball caps from years ago. Mine blew off while sailing and they don’t sell them like that anymore.

When in San Francisco… we go to Perry’s for their Cheeseburger! It never disappoints. Another plus, is that they have Anchor Steam on draft!!! We always sit at the bar, and the service is always great. The staff is always friendly Would highly recommend!

Good American food, with large portions and low prices. This is clearly a neighborhood favorite. You don’t come here expecting gourmet food, but it’s new American cuisine at its best. I had the best veggie burger I’ve ever eaten, and my mom had an amazing meatloaf with lots of mashed potatoes and vegetables. The portions were seriously large, and left no room for dessert. I can’t believe how low-priced this place is.

The food was very good and relatively inexpensive. Its much healthier than Micky d or b dub at a relatively the same price. So why not?

Sometimes I feel like a plastic bag, blowing in the wind. Or I feel like Kim Jongun getting #spoiler exploded by a tank. #hatersgonnahateatersgonnaate 1st *and* 2nd brunch plans got nixed coughsfmarathonstreetclosurescough; randomly ended up here at Katy’s. ICEDTEA: Yes. PULLEDPORK: Moist, springy, chopped small. #thatswhatshesaidx3 Nearly iden to one of my fave Southern restos in SF. #surprise Only«downside» was our section was quite #sardinecan. Our particular table was wedged between a wall & a handrail; felt like someone had their arm across my back the whole time. But #whatev #nottrippin. Vintage in your face everywhere posters & wall décor. Sunflower table centerpieces. Blue x white checkered picnic tablecloths. Muhammad Ali. Darth Vader.

Perry’s seems like one of those restaurants where you don’t know where to go but you want to go someplace new but can’t decide so you end up going back to Perry’s. Loved the food and cocktails! For dinner I got the ahi burger which was quite delicious. No problem substituting sweet potato fries which is a bonus. All around pretty chill vibe and I would come back.

I’ve had 2 meals here with very different experiences. Weekday lunch 3⁄5: My party sat by the window on a beautiful day, and despite the crowdedness in the restaurant, the ambiance was nice with the open window letting in a lot of sunlight and a breeze. Ordered a simple spaghetti entrée and received a huge portion, enough to feed 2 people. The meatballs were really huge and cooked very evenly; they did a great job of absorbing all the sauce and remaining very juicy. They were generous with my side order of fries as well, but the fries were bland, thick cut, and soggy, which I wasn’t a huge fan of. The service was pretty average, and there was a constant throng of business people who were eating nice business casual lunches there, so I understand the lag. Weekend breakfast 2⁄5: I came with my boyfriend and we opted to eat outside at the last outdoor table available because it was great weather. There was a set weekend menu that featured brunch items, none of which were fully breakfast-y or lunch-y, but just a hodge podge of whatever seemed quick and easy to prepare without having to heavily burden the cooking or serving staff. Since brunch places are pretty competitive in San Francisco, I was expecting a much more diverse menu, especially for the price point. After a long deliberation picking between entrees I wasn’t really interested in, I halfheartedly ordered the Monterey Scramble which consisted of egg whites with sautéed spinach, shiitake mushrooms & tomatoes. All the ingredients were soggy and watery. Together, it was like a pile of mush with no definition to any of the flavors of the ingredients, salt, pepper, nothing could save it. My boyfriends eggs Benedict was a bit more flavorful, but by no means memorable. The hollandaise sauce was pretty plasticky in texture and the biscuit was dry if not almost stale. I was really disappointed to see such a limited brunch/weekend menu considering how diverse and extensive their lunch menu is during the week. Will I come back? No, blerrrrgghhhh. The food was lacking taste and the proper food texture. The only plus was the portion size, but I had no desire to consume big portions of underwhelming food. Good American food is not hard to come by in San Francisco so this really just didn’t meet expectations for what I thought should have been a simple brunch and lunch meal.

My husband and I stumbled upon a cute outdoor Parisian style café trottoire seating with white an blue checker table cloth and yellow flowers center piece. We ordered a salad, mini ruben and Ahi tuna tacos. Everything was delicious. Specially the Ahi tuna tacos. A tuna tartare wrapped in a taco with a special sauce *drooling*. By far one on the best things I have ever tasted. Trust me you gotta stop by and taste those tacos!

Went here for a business dinner with some colleagues and was pleasantly surprised. This place is very cute and perfect for groups. While waiting, we ordered the quesadilla, wings and a bottle of wine(½ off on Mondays). Both appetizers were delicious! The dry breadsticks were nice to have, but I’d rather waste my calories on actual breadsticks. I am unsure of what everybody ordered, but I believe there were: Cobb Salad — all 3 women thoroughly enjoyed this Pot Roast — tender, flavorful and very filling Perry’s Hamburger — very generous serving of meat, cooked perfectly Sliders — looked delicious! Overall, didn’t hear any complaints about the food and atmosphere was great. Would definitely return for dinner again!

Stopped in here for lunch because I was intrigued by a salad ordered by 2 girls sitting in the sidewalk seats. As it turns out, they barely touched their food. Not sure why because the beet/goat cheese salad is amazing! Would go back for that for sure.

Yesterday we got our day drink on at Perry’s. A couple of days before we got an evening drink on somewhere else. Yesterday, at Perry’s, one of the ordered drinks was perfection and the other one not perfection. This was just like it was the other night at the other place like déjà vu all over again. Except for one difference. The other night, the response from friendly and prompt barkeep when advised that said imperfect cocktail was unlike a far more enjoyable version last time around said no, this cannot be. I know these cocktails inside and out. What you have is perfection in a glass. But it wasn’t. At Perry’s, however, without even words being said friendly attentive barkeep saw the frown and said why the long face rabbit. Who demurred. Until he insisted then a short conversation ensued and he again insisted to make another. No talk of his expertise as a mixologist and said patrons obvious amateur status as a drink taster, none of that malarkey. Before any further protestation could be offered he was off and in two shakes there was drink 2.0. And it was a lot better. And everybody was happy. Old school wins again. Five stars. The End.

I love this PERRY’s restaurant. It’s a little old school feel to it reminding me of things from the Northeast where I’m from. When I first moved to SF years ago, I thought this was a stand alone unique restaurant. It is actually part of a small regional chain, but still pretty good quality. We used to frequent it for a number of occasions, coming here for Valentine’s Day when my new beau, soon to be husband, didn’t make reservations with enough advance time at the romantic places, this was great for me b/c it is Atkins friendly. At one time featured NM ranch meats. Great place for a weekend brunch date. Sit outside, weather permitting, and your close proximity to each other will enhance the romance of your date. We have sat all over this restaurant with our large family parties, including bringing our mother here because it’s a casually classy place. One of the last time we ate here, the hostess of the time was extraordinarily rude to us. We just hoped and prayed she wouldn’t last long and ruin this great restaurant in the heart of Cow Hollow. Tips for the Cow Hollow Locals: check out their daily special entrée of the day to plan your noshing choices.

There are tons of great eats on Union, so Perry’s isn’t a place we frequent when in the area. After getting turned away from the Brickyard(apparently our Bruin gear was not acceptable to the Michigan crowd), we went to Perry’s to watch games and eat. The food is nothing to write home about, but I like the restaurant layout. I had no idea there was a back room until we were seated there last night. Two big TVs and full service. Loved being away from the crowded bar area! We got the chicken BLT which was pretty tasty and the chopped salad. Could have done without the salad, it had no flavor whatsoever :( Good spot for a casual drink or meal… but with all the great spots on Union, I won’t be back to Perry’s soon.
