Summary; Nice little lunch deli. Give it it a try. Details: Small deli with fast service. A wide variety of sandwiches, hot and cold. Sandwich sizes are not large but they are fair priced. I have tried the chicken breast and the meatball and can recommend both. Not much onsite eating opportunity but with Levi Plaza near by, it works well as a lunch takeout place.

I come here at least twice a week for breakfast. I work literally right across the street that it’s almost impossible not to come here. Since I see the owners on a regular basis, I have never been treated rude or have been rushed like some of these other reviews are stating. I think if anything you should know what you want before you approach the counter just like any deli you would go to. Go To’s English Muffin w/egg, cheese, tomato — it’s so simple & very tasty $ 3.99 Bagel w/cream cheese, tomato, and cucumber — $ 4.59& i love the salt/pepper/spice mix she sprinkles on the tomato/cucumber before putting it on the bagel If I ever order lunch here, I always get the Spicy Sausalito Turkey sandwich on Sourdough bread — freaking soooo good. Turkey, Pepper Jack, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, Mustard, and hot sauce and they toast it so your cheese is nice and melted. $ 8.99

The sandwich was good, but the person making the sandwich was a bit rude and she picked at her teeth and made my sandwich with no gloves. Maybe that’s normal here but I didn’t like it. I was hungry so I still ate my sandwich and it was good. BLT. Customer service and sanitary procedures are important to me.

Decent food but the proprietors, particularly the female one, can be very rude. My second favorite thing about her was the time she got into a screaming match with a customer while about 6 other customers, myself included, corner-eyeballed the whole thing, wondering«should I snapchat this or nah?» while pretending to be *really* busy checking super important emails on our phones. My absolute number one favorite thing about her is that she always makes me pay, or looks back to see if I’ve paid, before she starts making my food. I’ve never seen her do that to a white person but, to be fair, white people are inherently trustworthy whereas I’m just a shady n-word who can’t resist his genetically-encoded urge to steal sandwiches.

Terrible! $ 9.30 for a plain cheese sandwich and a small bag of chips. Just terrible! I might as well order a croissant with cheese without eggs that would be $ 3.99. Complete rip off & it tastes below average. Even though I pointed it out, & asked to add lettuce or pickles, but they didn’t care! That was one of the couple of veg options on their lunch menu. They made a terrible impression with their poor customer service. They insisted on treating situations poorly & act rude on top of that! Way to go on creating a stereotype on greed & lack of professionalism

What a great little quick stop shop. We came in search of a quick brunch and found just just that. This a very small and casual sandwich shop which also offers different snacks and bottled drinks. Perfect for when you are on the go! Owners were very helpful and friendly. I had the ham, egg and cheese on wheat. Simple but perfect.

Awful service and greedy. Stopped by for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Ordered an egg and cheese bagel and a coffee(8 dollars). They screwed up the sandwich by putting about 20 slices of bacon. I took the bacon off, no big deal, didn’t want to throw the whole sandwich away. I come back in to put an extra maybe two ounces of coffee and the owner tries to charge me a dollar. I probably should have asked about their refill policy, but definitely this place gave me the impression they like to stick in to the customer as though your a tourist coming off the cruise ships across the street. When I mentioned she screwed up my bagel the woman said you ordered a bacon, egg and cheese. She did not speak English well, so I assume she just made a mistake, but to argue with me about it was pretty ridiculous.

Went in for a quick breakfast after getting shut-out on the Alcatraz walk-up attempt. Bagels with cream cheese and coffee… nothing all that special about it. The couple of owns /runs the place were nice enough, but not someplace I’d be rushing back to anytime soon.

I completely love this place… I just started working not to far from this area(3 to 4 blocks) and my coworkers told me about this place, they are fast! when it gets busy it doesnt take them no longer than 10 mins to get my order out!, the sandwhiches are delish!, my fave of all is the chicken salad one! Bread is fresh and the chicken is amazing! I will be coming back here for more!

Coworkers told me about this hidden gem where I had my first Dutch crunch experience. It’s a little hole in the wall(literally) take out only place. I had the club which was turkey and bacon. No cheese? No ham? Hmm, ok. I didn’t like that the lady was slinging our food with her bare hands. This place very much reminds me of Seinfeld’s soup nazi, there’s a Korean lady making the sandwiches like a ninja yelling at everyone«who’s next!» «What you want?» «What you order?!» I get it, she’s trying to be be efficient but that shit was hilarious. One of my buddies ordered no tomatoes and got extra tomatoes. She predicted this would happen too! This isn’t a place where you can spend time deciding what you want and forget about making omissions, substitutions or special requests. You get it how they give it. Having that expectation up front makes this an enjoyable experience and the food was pretty good. My sandwich was big enough to save the 2nd half for later which I ate on the plane ride home. I got a chuckle out of remembering the experience while I enjoyed my 2nd half. You might find yourself doing the soup nazi shuffle when you come here. I’ll visit again the next time I come to town. :)

Fast service for a yummy sandwich! I stopped by here for lunch on a Friday around 1PM and there wasn’t a wait. The female owner was quick with making my order of the Chicken Cadillac which was yummy! I was little disappointed by the size of it because of the price I paid ~$ 9(a little less than $ 10). The sandwich’s temperature was perfect which is why I give it 4 stars! I would come back again for lunch. There’s a table inside and outside for you to dine solo or with your friends. So it’s a cool place to chill!

This place really knows how to treat a person. The couple who owns it are great. They are punctual and the sandwiches are so fresh. I almost always order the BLT and the bacon is so crispy, the lettuce and tomato are cool and crisp and the bread is soft and moist. Because I order ahead of time, I don’t have to wait for the lunch rush. My meal is always ready for me when I come in. They recognize me and airways extend wonderful hospitalities. «Good customer! Grab a banana sweetie!» It’s like having my mom make me a sandwich with healthy fruit on the side. They stock a wide variety of drinks, including my favorite Kombucha. I also often get a vegetarian Udon and it’s wonderful. She preps it but waits to heat it until I get there. They often will serve my food on the patio if the line isn’t long. They have some new staff, but they always monitor them to make sure they train well but don’t lose the quality of customer service they provide. I hope they live forever!

I got a cold turkey sandwich on Dutch Crunch with avocado. I kinda don’t understand how they make a simple sandwich into such a heavenly experience, but wow. Phenomenal. Not much in the way of seating, but there are plenty of benches near the business buildings nearby. My wife got the tuna on a French roll with avocado and just 2 days later she wants to go back and get the same thing. The place is busy at lunch time, but the line went fast considering there are just 2 people making sandwiches and one working the register.

Word of advice, you’re probably going to come here for a sandwich for takeout during a busy day at the office. Knowing that, you should know exactly what you want on your sandwich before you’re on the spot. Everyone here is doing the same thing. Order, wait, leave. With that said, the Korean-owned Paul’s serves nothing short of a good sandwich. But if you order anything else(udon, any sort of bowl), know that they heat it up in a microwave. Paul’s has a WIDE range of options. If you’re feeling like a sandwich and are in the area, look no further and don’t let appearances fool you. My personal favorite is the BLT Avocado. The Viking and the Poorboy are also good options. They just do an awesome job assembling hot sandwiches. Not an a la carte kind of person? They have all your favorite chip and drink options along with more obscure ones like Maple Bacon Kettle Chips and my childhood favorite: Nacho Cheese Bugles. I hear their breakfast options are worth a try as well. Cheers my fellow workin peeps! Tip: Minimum credit card charge is $ 10 and a sandwich on it’s own is just under $ 10.

I wanted to go Café Me for breakfast but since my Mom couldn’t walk there and we were on a slight time crunch(on our way to Alcatraz), we came here instead. They were already serving lunch at 11:20am which was a let down from the get. I ordered a simple ham and cheese sandwich which included lettuce, tomato and mayo on single slice wheat bread for my Mom. For me, I ordered a BLT also on single slice wheat along with a bottle of water. The total was $ 18.75 for these average tasting sandwiches! In NYC, this same order would have been half especially since they were single stack sandwiches. I review the receipt and see a mystery charge for $ 2.75 and inquired about it. He(I assume he is Paul) tells me it was for the cheese because they gave my Mom’s sandwich two slices. He and his wife try and convince me that cheese is very expensive now. I would believe that if this was the Great Depression, but it is not. I may look young but I am not an idiot who doesn’t know the difference between good and cheap cheese. This was literally two slices of yellow American cheese… like the pre-packaged Kraft you find at Western Beef. I could buy a whole package of this cheese for $ 2.75 in NYC and here I am in San Fran paying for TWO slices, UGH!!! I will never come back because the sandwiches were average and my order was incorrect. I wanted a little mustard with my BLT and got mayo instead. I requested the bacon to be well done which means crispy crunchy to me. I received some that was still soft which I fed to the pigeons. It may be slightly better than the pre-packaged sandwiches on the pier but it still does not justify the price gouging. Never again will I come here for their overpriced average sandwiches!

Local little deli in my new work hood and I’ve been here a few times. Mostly for the lox bagel for breakfast. Pretty darn yummy. I’ve also had their chicken gyro for lunch. Nothing gourmet, but solid sandwiches are made here. Looking forward to trying the chicken pesto sammie next time. Fast service!

Who is Paul? The lady behind the counter was very quick to take my order and based off of a previous recommendation I couldn’t wait to check this space out. I ordered the warm turkey and avocado sandwich. When asked what kind of bread I wanted I retorted with«What kinds do you have?» In which she waved her hand over the bagged assortment in the corner and said«these kinds». That’s it. I couldn’t help but laugh and say«the brown one please». She chose her bread of choice and began to slather and stack. I waited as my lunch was being prepared and quickly inhaled once it got to my mouth. The food is OK. Nothing special. I wish I knew a little bit more about the space since you wouldn’t even know it was there unless someone told you.

I am a total hot sandwich snob and it doesn’t stem from having a gargantuan number of sandwiches in my lifetime but more because I don’t really like to eat them at all. The Paul’s Deli crew really makes it worthwhile though. It’s not«special» by any means; there is no dirty sauce or special meat or breads. It’s plain and simple. But for some reason it just ends up tasting so good. I can’t pinpoint it. Maybe it’s because the turnover of products is high since a lot of people come here or because the avocado is generous(any place that gives you a lot of avocado deserves props). I got the Chicken Pesto on Dutch Crunch with avocado(extra $ 1) and it just made me feel all warm inside. The chicken is thinly sliced deli style chicken and the Dutch Crunch was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The two women make these sandwiches FAST. When it was my turn to order, I spat out my order and practically got it in the time it took me to say it. They have a wide chip and drink variety to choose from which always keeps things exciting. And for the Asian or wannabe, there is seaweed and choco pies. And of course, the sandwich was so big that I only ate half.
