Looking for a good dose of condescension and disdain? Come on down and talk to the saleslady here — Victoria. Wow, I mean, WOW! I came into the store on two separate occasions, each time with a different friend looking for items to furnish my St. Helena home. Good thing my friends were with me so they could verify my impression, because I was so stunned by the incredibly frosty reception and the once-over we received that I needed to double-check with them. It just surprised me that someone could be that unpleasant, especially to a customer who was smiling at her and trying to make polite conversation. It went down like this: –We walked in. –She glances over at us from where she’s sitting in front of her laptop clearly showing Facebook on the screen. –Then comes the once-over. She looks us up. She looks us down. She turns back to her screen like we aren’t even there. –I can’t take a hint, so I try to politely ask her questions about her merchandise. –She doesn’t bother to look away from the computer screen and gives curt answers in a «don’t waste my time; you peasants wouldn’t know quality if it came up and bit you on the nose» tone of voice.(Anyway, it was clear she didn’t know a whole lot herself.) –The second visit two weeks later is a replay of the first. This lady needs to get over herself. I usually can brush off rudeness, since I figure that people are allowed to have an off day, but this one just seems suffering from a severely undeserved superiority complex. Very bad manners! And some of her inventory looks like she scavenged from the Ralph Lauren Home bargain bin from a few seasons ago. Clearly she hasn’t been able to move a lot of her merchandise. Hmmm, I wonder why.

I stopped by this store after I went for a run, so I had on running tights and a jacket. I rang the doorbell and the women waited at least 5 minutes before buzzing me in the store. She looked me over up and down and barely spoke to me. She went to the very back of the store and didn’t even ask if I needed help. I couldn’t believe how rude she was on the week before Xmas. The store was empty except one other woman. I walked around for about 5 minutes, and looked at the very lovely furniture. Then a delivery man ran the doorbell, and she looked at him and never buzzed him in the store. I actually opened the door for him. She took her good sweet time getting to the front of the store to greet him. She needs to not judge a book by the cover. She just lost my business and I will tell all of my friends, who also live in Pac. Hgts. to avoid her store. In these economic times, she should have been more friendly towards a new customer.

I had the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with any retailer. I HIGHLY recommend against you shopping here. I was appalled by the response to my problem with an expensive couch I purchased there. I had a problem with a spring making noise with the couch. Almost 2 months after submitting the issue, the couch was initially taken away to be repaired as it was within warranty. When I asked what was fixed, they responded, «(details details details) we are unable to access the center cross board but we have not noticed the same amount of noise coming from this area so maybe this piece of wood is is not sticking up into the seating area as much as the side boards are. This seems to be stopping the clunk noise as far as we can tell.» Basically, they did not know what the problem was. Sure enough, it came back within a couple months. When I reported back, I got the worse straight arm ever, finishing with«I have this same sofa in my home, and I have sold it many times… I have never had this problem.» Can you imagine if the Toyota dealer said that to you regarding your brakes? I contacted the manufacturer who was very nice and willing to explore the problem with me. They requested some information Pacific Heights had. After multiple attempts to get the information, I sent the following… «So you are saying that you refuse to provide me original receipt and the acknowledgment number even if I come by in person to get it?» Victoria’s response, «David…there is nothing further I can help you with.» My $ 8000 couch that is 2 years old continues to have a squeaky spring. Thanks for nothing Pacific Heights Place. My recommendation… STAYAWAY.

Our buying experience Pacific Height Place was a nightmare after the order was placed. Think twice before you do any business at this place. Better take your business elsewhere. While we were willing to spend good money on good furniture we were still trying to watch our wallet. Here are the details — after discussing the pieces we pulled back on purchasing one piece, a $ 3,000 ottoman and that got her really upset. We went ahead and purchased a sofa and two chairs on display for $ 12k. We initially asked for the pillows that were on displayed with the chairs, she was leading on that we could have it but after we purchased she wanted $ 600 for each. Not only that, she made me feel bad for not wanting to pay $ 600 each for the two pillows because they must go w the chairs and getting other pillows just won’t do. So then the two chairs we bought were small enough to be picked up in our SUV but she was very condescending that we didn’t want to pay for these chairs to be delivered and for them to be picked up ourselves. And then when the custom sofa arrived, she called to say she can arrange for the sofa to be delivered(for a fee) to the front of our building but we would have to arrange a mover to have it brought up to our 3rd floor. Say what? I was in the hospital at the time with a life threatening emergency and my husband asked her for extra time to make the arrangement w the movers. She absolutely refused to give us extra time. We then had to pay her a hefty fee to have the sofa dumped into our garage space. Her tone and attitude was down right mean, snooty and condescending in every stage. It wasn’t the money, it was the way she treats her customers. This woman has no soul. Even though she did looked me up, she looked me down when I first walked into her store, the nightmare was not apparent until we purchased. Those who were smart enough to sniff her out when you first walked in were lucky to escape. Unfortunately, I wasn’t smart enough to foresee.
