Okazuya, hands down, has the best sushi in the Bay Area. The fish is so fresh, the service is great, and the chefs are so much fun! I regularly order the salmon, tuna, scallops, and uni. All, are always awesome. They are always coming around to bring a cold beer or a new hot sake. I love this place! If you are a sushi lover, you have got to try Okazuya.

I am not sure what happened here. The tea was just warm water. Miso also had no flavor. Sizzling petrale… no sizzle. Even the sushi was disappointing. Oh so disappointed. We live in Santa Rosa now and the sushi there outright sucks so we live for our City trips… Okazayu, how could you do this to us!!!

I would give negative stars if I could. Sashimi scallops was spoiled, hot fish plate was disgusting! They don’t change their frying oil and the fish has been frozen for gosh knows how long. $ 67 for 4 people, Save your $$ and go get a $ 4 McDonald’s fish fillet, it’ll be much better!

I went recently for lunch and the bento box is good — nothing that spectacular but everything you would expect from a bento box. I didn’t like the deep fried gyoza though. The tempura, chicken teriyaki, and miso soup are pretty standard. I got Miyoshi ramen or something, not knowing what kind of ramen I was ordering. It ended up being a really huge bowl of ramen. The broth was very light. It was full of bean sprouts, mushrooms, and some pieces of chicken. I thought it turned out to be a «healthier ramen» choice, though I was expecting the standard unhealthy kind. It’s pretty cheap for such a big bowl, like $ 7. The staff was also very nice.

I use to dine here over 15 years ago, there was a reason why I stopped and I couldn’t remember when I approach this place. I was meeting some girlfriends for dinner, their choice not mine. I ordered the Tonkatsu and my friends order the sashimi combo to share. I took a bite of the hamachi and then I remembered why. I got sick eating here the last time I was here. It smelled and tasted fishy. Then my Tonkatsu came, the batter was so thick and it wasn’t cooked through. This pasty film between the pork and the fried batter. Well I got sick again tonight. Sharp pain and cramping in my belly. Never again will I return and I will talk my girlfriends out of it if it’s suggested again.

The food is not authentic nor delicious and overpriced to top it off. The service was extremely slow even when there were two customers in the restaurant. The waiter was busy on his laptop in the back. The chef kept banging on something for a good 3 minutes WHILE there were customers in the restaurant eating and chatting. The green tea ice cream was so bad, I giggled. No reason to repeat when there are plenty of restaurants around.

The Okazuya chain in the sunset is just average. Their prices are pretty high and their quality is subpar. The sashimi doesn’t seem fresh and even their bento boxes portions are smaller than other places.

Similar to Taraval Okazuya, if you look hard enough you’ll see them roaches. The only difference is to WATCHWHEREYOUWALK. They have a dark carpet for a reason. Sanitary? Eh. if you sit in the right place you might smell the fermented spilled soy sauce like we did. DONOTORDER: Miso Soup, Udon, Soba, Ramen and Gyoza. Its the frozen Costco shit and they jack up the price. Wasabi isn’t fresh, it comes out of a tube. My friend and I shared a donburi and a sushi. BLEGH!!! It was sucky because the waiter couldn’t answer where our fish was coming from. He would say«oh let me ask the manager», then not ask the manager and go help another table. Shitty service man.

We drive all the way from Pleasanton to eat here. Benjamin takes great care of us, and the sushi is top notch. Get there early as the place fills up quick. Hamachi cheeks are as big as Benjamins! Green Tea ice cream is hard, and you can actually taste the tea. Top notch.

Noreiga Okazuya has the BEST Nabiyaki soba/udon ever!!! Believe me, I’ve tried a dozen other Japanese restaurants, and this place still has the best Nabiyaki soba. Other places will give you soggy tempura shrimp in the Nabiyaki or other places will give you over cooked egg on top, but Okazuya does it just right. The rolls are delicious too. The clam noodles take a while so order it first.

Liked this place. I actually went here right after The Millbrae Pancake House. This was actually my family’s b-day spot for me for the past three years. We put a fist-full of change on the table and jokingly asked the waitress how much that would buy us. She had a worried, menaced look that remained with us for the duration of our visit. My younger brother is a fan of the hot plates of broiled fish. He ordered the butterfish, which is my personal favorite. The plates come in metal pans, steaming hot, on wooden slabs. I ordered Katsu Donburi to go and sat with my brother and his buddy. Apparently, they have President’s Week off, so the world is their oyster. They talked a lot about girls, so I invited the waitress over to participate. She acted like we were fearsome creatures and kept her distance. Anyway, we really liked the tea and the waitress put up with a lot. So four stars.

Must be No star, period. Minus 100. A Piece of Shit. Crappy, Cheap, Thin Green Tea. Roaches. Deep Fried Waiters. Half-Cooked Rice. Puke. Dirty Carpet. Instant Miso Soup from Costco. Frozen Gyoza. Instant Udon and Soba. Instant Curry over Rice. Way Too Sweet Teri-Yaki Sauce. Smelly, Cheap, Old, Crappy, Raw Fish, Chicken, Beef, Pork. Flat Wasabi. Awful, Old, Dirty Oil for deep frying. Over-done, Oily Ten-Pura. Don’t care about Transfat, MSG and global warming. Scary Kitchen. Green Tea Ice Cream from TJ. Dreadful, Amateur, Inept, Unskilled Chef. People in the kitchen don’t speak Japanese. I don’t even want to think about their bathroom. Are we pay money for this crap? Hey Man, It’s not right. This owner need a lot of help! P.S. Sorry guys, I spell wrong alot but I’ll try to check. Thanks.
