The building is a shell of what it once was in earthquake antebellum. Unfortunately the SF Odd Fellows are also. Not involved with charity as in other citys. They are hardly a non-profit in SF. The building is managed by a very dysfunctional odd fellow indeed. A former Marine with a past to hide. Which is why he is the building manager and not a cop. The odd fellowship as they like to be called. Is comprised of very senior citizens. Conservative in nature and more involved with playing silly games to go nowhere. When I look at this building I cannot help but to see nothing but a façade.

You might miss this building if you’re not looking closely. My friends totally passed it when we were all going to the Barbot event. It’s right near Mr. Smith’s and a Walgreens(maybe it was CVS?) I don’t remember. Either way, it’s almost like a small warehouse. The event itself was all right. I thought that it would be set up by bartenders dressed as robots not people creating things out of robots to serve you. There were a few places to sit but mainly you would just walk around the tables. It’s an average place to hold an event.

The sign proclaiming«Odd Fellows Temple» is easy to miss despite its size, but once you see it you’ll wonder how you ever walked passed it blindly. I had never heard of the Odd Fellows, but given the weird Masonic-like symbolism on the building’s façade, I assumed I was dealing with some lodgey-cult thing. Internet research confirms that, yes, Odd Fellows is a sort of lodge, or fellowship, or fraternity, or something like that. You can read about their origins, various temple buildings, but they never explain what they DO. A seasonal newsletter consists mostly of membership pleas from various militant sounding Officers: Office of the Sovereign Grand Master The Sovereign Grand Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows Office of the President International Association of Rebekah Assemblies Office of the General Commanding General Military Council, Patriarchs Militant Office of the President International Association Ladies Auxiliaries Patriarchs Militant Youth — Junior Odd Fellows, Theta Rho Girls Man, do I love cults, and do I love San Francisco.(Although the Fellows are world-wide!)
