Having had positive results in the past, such as successful removal of a frown, I was open to the Juvederm «special» Dr Yuen suggested. After too much filler was injected, my lips were uneven,
with one side casting a shadow. Also, at the side of my mouth the injections resulted in worse vertical lines than before the treatment. The lines were also uneven, worse on the left side than the right. I texted photos the day of the treatment and again two weeks later showing the problems and asking if he would fix them. He agreed.
However, when I drove to S SF for the appointment, he informed me that any «touch-​ups» (even fixing bad outcomes) would cost another $ 400. That would have been defensible if I was warned ahead of time! I was unsure he had the skill to repair the damage, nor did I have another $ 400. Reluctantly, I decided to leave bad enough alone.
I waited to update my review to make sure I was calm and could state the facts clearly. Then, when someone mistook my sister for my daughter yesterday (!), I knew that I had to warn others against trying a filler at this Clinic. I like Dr Yuen as a person and trust him with Botox but advise against the fillers. If you see Dr Y’s overly injected face (stretched and shiny), you will see evidence that fillers are not his strong suit.

I had a great experience here just yesterday, great price on Botox and good friendly service, the location in not fancy but once you get inside the offices are very nice, and easy street parking. I prefer to pay less for services than enter a fancy storefront, thanks Dr Yuen!

I was highly suspicious of this place. A dark, nearly-​unmarked, windowless storefront. The small sign says «Laser treatment. Body scan. Bone scan.» My interest was immediately piqued.
So I had to go and ask for the details. Oh the chilling sense of dread which descended upon me as I walked into the office! All hope left me. The whole time I had these unshakable images of fly-​by-​night knockoff botox (xeomin) injections administered by questionable doctors. Injections … of what? I cannot say. Clostridium botulinum? I’m afraid that I will never find out. The vibe I received from the doctor left me cold and highly dubious of the treatment I’d receive. So I fled, realizing that I could not go wrong by avoiding this dismal place.

I had a variety of services from Dr Yuen including Laser, Botox, and Collagen. Working with him was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.
I was surprised that with such a professional office and (obviously) expensive new equipment, I wasn’t getting good results from the treatments. Dr Yuen expressed pride that patients didn’t feel any pain during his laser treatments. Having been to other practitioners I knew that the mild sting I got during a laser treatment (and accompanying hair loss) are signs the process is working. I confronted him once, with the bad results and asked him to turn up the intensity of the laser. Viola! I had mild stinging and hair loss! He offered no explanations or apologies but I think Dr Yuen has discovered if he turns down the settings, you have to come back for more treatments.
Also, I discovered his Botox treatments did not fully immobilize the tissue being treated and movement reduction was VERY temporary. He used the same (or more) serum than other providers but without the same results. When I told him that I was disappointed he offered to charge me less for a «touch-​up». I explained that I am perfectly happy to pay for services that WORK. I am not looking for a discount on services that don’t work. I asked that he please do the job well and completely, one time, since that is what I had already paid for and was promised. Then, when I need it again, I would get it and pay full price for it again.
Dr Yuen responded that he didn’t think it looked natural to treat the spot completely so it didn’t move. I explained that it ISN’T natural for me– I naturally have a deep furrow on my forehead. But it IS natural for the people I am trying to look like. I am not interested in looking like I have a little furrow, I want to look like I have no furrow.
I further explained that practitioners who use full strength serum and correct placement for injections don’t have any trouble getting the relaxed result. He gave it a try, but never got it right and I stopped trying to explain it to him. Frankly, I don’t believe he is using full strength serum and his placement wasn’t effective.
I would never recommend this practice. Ever. To anyone.

I have been coming here for treatment for sun damage for several times. My lesions are disappearing well. Dr. Yuen knows all about the latest lasers which have been invented, and he has made sure that he utilizes what he knows for his patients. He is always on time for his appointments, and he and his receptionist are always pleasant and efficient. His office on Ocean Avenue is attractively decorated with nice floral arrangements of orchids.

I have known Dr. Yuen for almost 8 years. He is a very caring and attentive doctor. He will listen to your skin problems and will advise you on what treatments that you need.
