Can’t believe I didn’t discover this place. I work on 17th and Bryant and didn’t realize that this place has been open for nearly a year now. Cute spot for a quick coffee. A great place to stop by in the morning right before heading in. There are a few tables as well for working.

I read Albertino M’s review before coming here and I think it’s a little harsh even if he is kindly«hoping my services can be utilize [sic] here.». I really enjoyed Nano — good coffee and pastries in a relaxed environment. As you would expect from a proper SF coffee spot the espresso drinks are carefully measured and produced by its owner, Grant. I sat drinking my coffee, eating a delicious almond croissant while listening to the background music and watching the world go by while the regulars walked in to be greeted like family by Grant. The wifi is free and if you need to use them, there are plenty of power sockets on the left hand side of the café. Also there’s a bathroom at the back which was very clean and surprisingly spacious! Bottom line — Relaxed, local coffee spot where the staff know the regulars and look forward to meeting new people!

Amazing coffee. I’ve had almost every coffee in the city. This is a very balanced cup of coffee. Great breakfast burrito. A wide variety of pastries. Very clean and quality is obviously a priority. Above all, Grant is a great guy and adds to the morning caffination experience.

Great little local spot. Free Wi-Fi. Very reasonably priced coffee and food selection. They just opened so they are working out the bugs, but I really appreciate the owners openness and friendliness. A great little addition to the neighborhood. A great little place to get some work done.

Grant is very nice and open to hear what you may want to see. He recently opened this shop. The place is clean and he’s great at making you coffee the way you’d like it. Steeped ice coffee for 17 hours or handcrafted espresso drinks and stands by its quality. It’s conveniently located where no other coffee shop is for several blocks and uses a local Oakland coffee supplier. Worth a visit. I can’t wait to see the pastries.

Time: 1:16pm/71°F partly sunny Purpose: Meeting a client around neighborhood soon. I made a right 16th street looking for parking and found one in front of this place. Sat in car for a moment open laptop search for Nano. Couple of Nano pops up but none was a coffee shop. So did search again only this time with Nano Café. Bam, it came up with only 2 reviews. I’m wondering why as it’s been open for at least 3 weeks, according to FTR person. Something is not right here as I’m hoping my services can be utilize here. Ambiance: Sidewalk front two cast iron tables with matching chairs and two rolling planters box each side of entrance. Inside 7 chairs, 4 tables with booth benches against the walls. It feels like a place not sure where it wants to go yet. Mostly all wooden place with bare bone shelfs not much of anything going on. Cabinets are that of a showroom floor display, the kind you’ll find at home furnishing/remodeling places but made to hold utensils and storage. Walls are painted like primer paint with about 3 oil paintings on each side. Forget about TV or music there’s none here. The inner back has a Odwalla fridge hidden out of view that holds cans/bottles juices and beverages. I almost didn’t know till I ask to use the restroom. Yes, Wi-Fi is in use here. Staff: I guess he was the owner older guy about late 50s with glasses talks very nervously. The way he talks tells me he’s probably new to the business. I’m holding back on giving him my contact info because I don’t think he’ll ever want to invest in my consultant practices. The more we talk the more I learn about the place. It’s really nothing more than a take over of another café that once was. He tells me everything is good here and I ask is there food? He tells me what food? I stop there didn’t go any further. Cleanliness: Grade A, definitely clean but that’s all to it. Of course when there’s no food options there won’t be any mess to clean. Eats/Drinks: Large iced coffee $ 4.25 nothing added just wanted to taste the beans to determine if it’s well worth it. It tasted like any other places that sells third wave coffee. Nothing special just black coffee serve with iced in a 16oz eco friendly see through cup. Let’s say this I could’ve have made a stronger brew than this at home provided that I have everything on hand. Products/Services: Soda cans/bottles, hot/cold coffee, hot chocolate, tea by Stash and Numi, whole beans ½/or full pound, Izze soda, sparkling water(San Pellegrino), water, apple juice, pastries/danishes(very small amount less than 10pcs), cookies, pastry of the day. Punch Lines: SOMA, S. Van Ness, new, clean, empty shelfs, bright, local artist paintings, booth benches, Wi-Fi, limited choices, not busy, local roaster, local bakery delivery, seating compacity no more than 18 person in/out combine, owner is nervous, street parking, residential/business, muni bus, auto shops, specialty shops, Mission area, churches, schools, laundromats, restaurant/cafes, tire shops, moving storage units. Tradeoffs: Prices are that of new third wave shop but the flavor is far below the norm. Just another café in the SOMA area with regular to commercial grade easy to get ingredients. Final Thoughts: Good clean concept and I hope it will be around for a while. The only thing that irks me is the product line. I mean you can get them all around town Restaurant Depot, Cash & Carry, Smart & Final, FoodMax widely availbe. I’m paying arm and leg to get below average drinks. Numi tea and Stash tea combine in a shop gives bad misconceptions. It’s like selling organic apples to commercial apples. Which do you want to sell? You can have both but then again remember what I said? Stash tea in any shop is a dead give away of how the place is run, cheap cuttinh corners. Numi on the other hand will have a much broader appeal spendy crowds looking forward to what other offerings that shop may carries, keeps them second guessing.

Really enjoying this new café in the hood. Not just because it’s steps from my apartment or because they have amazing iced coffee or because the owners are so nice and the place is clean and there’s awesome food in the works and all that and more! I’m really enjoying it because the list goes on and on! Great new place!

This is a pretty new little café which recently opened on South Van Ness between 16th and 17th streets. There was a little place here before, but it hadn’t been open in the time since I moved here. Anyway, the décor is pretty cute, with kind of a dark wood sort of theme. There a few small tables with a small service counter in the back. As for the cafés offerings, it’s pretty basic selection of coffees, teas, and espresso drinks, but it’s more than enough to satisfy your Saturday morning caffeine cravings. I’ve been in a couple of times, and each time the owner Grant has personally made my beverage. He’s really friendly, and it’s nice to get a coffee from a local owner rather than a corporate overlord. Plus, the place is really close to where I live. The espresso drinks are quite delicious, so I can vouch for them. They also have a small selection of pastries, but I haven’t really tried those. The owner also mentioned that he’s planning to start serving sandwiches and other small food items during lunch hours. Overall, this is a small little neighborhood café that is a nice place to get a coffee on a sleepy weekend morning. It’s good to have a place nearby when most of the coffee places are couple of blocks over on the more uppity Valencia Avenue. You won’t find some crazy pour over coffees or anything like that here, but you will find a delicious coffee handcrafted by the owner, who you can have a nice chat with while he makes it. Check this place out.
