I actually wanted to sue this restaurant. We ordered at 11pm and didn’t get our food until 2am, no joke. They did not even apologize. I will not spend any more of my time writing a review for this restaurant. Do not eat here ever, please.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat before checking out a show at the Curran Theatre. What won me over was the FREE bottomless Chai! wooT! What didn’t fly so much with me was the Chicken Tikka Masala, which had lots of fat and oddly tasted like bologna… I stopped eating the actual chicken and just used the sauce for the Naan… At least that made for a good combination :) One of the employees asked how everything was. I told him the chicken tasted like bologna. He gave me my money back! Score! I’ll give this place another try, but will definitely choose something non-poltury related

Its an Indian club up in here lol shimmy time! Where do I begin?.. It was an epic night in the city. I came here with a friend after leaving Trigger in the Castro at 2 am. We were both hungry to say the least. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, tandoori chicken and shrimp and cant for get about the naan. The food was good and very flavorful. I give it 3 stars for the atmosphere! Man it was an after party in this joint. They were playing Arabic music and all kinds of people were dancing in the middle of the restaurant. I cant wait to go back and hell I just might get up and dance rather then observing the scene.

HOWAREYOUSTILLINBUSINESSNAAN N’ CURRY!!! I feel bad for the asshole staff they have working there just because they’re associated with the place. They are truly working in a hideous establishment. I’m not really sure how I actually followed through with attempting to eat at this place. I got the chana masala, whole wheat naan, some chutney and raita. That’s it. Every single thing was disgusting. The chutney was greasy. The raita was GRAINY and just tasted horrible. Normally raita’s my favorite dish. Uhhhh… no way. The chana masala just didn’t look good. I couldn’t finish it. The naan was dry. Seems that’s always the case there. When I walked in I walked up to the guy at the counter and ordered. Asked if they had raita and he said yeah. I said okay, cool. Ordered that. So, ha. He charged me for raita when I find out later that it’s FREE at the condiment bar. Or is it? Who knows there? What a mess! He let me take the chutneys but charged me for the raita. While I was getting the chutneys I picked up a bowl that was dirty. It literally had crusty food stuck all around the bottom. Do they wash their dishes? Psychologically I feel sick. Hopefully I don’t get diarrhea. I see reviews all over the place and I’m freaked out. Plus… they have NO customer service. Should have went to McDonald’s instead.

I just moved into the area and I was excited to see an Indian place a couple doors down. I’m no longer excited. The carpet leading to the cashier was sticky, which provided some entertainment while waiting to order. I paid my $ 10 for the buffet thinking, «This is a shit hole, but that probably means the food rocks.» Sadly, it didn’t. The rice was under cooked with every other bite producing one or two hard grains with the texture of a chicken bone. The chicken had more tendons and bones than edible meat. I didn’t even bother to go back for seconds.

This location is HORRIBLE. I’m very familiar with Naan-N-Curry restaurants. I frequent 2 of their other locations(Irving St. & O’Farrell) after happy hour drinks! Trust me, walk a little further and visit the O’Farrell location. The restaurant is warmer, better quality meats, and service is better. Food: I’ve ordered takeout as well as dined in for the lunch buffet. The meat quality is the poorest I’ve ever had at any Indian restaurant. The chicken is really fatty and poor quality. Ever had a piece of meat where the fat is throughout the meat and it’s difficult to find a decent bite out of the entire piece? Well, that’s what they serve here. The lunch buffet has a lot of items to choose from, but they put about 1 cup of meat in the entire buffet pan. It’s like finding needles in a haystack to get meat. Translation– CHEAP. Another customer was sifting through sauce next to me, and also commented that they need to put more meat in the pan. The naan had been sitting out in the buffet for at least ½ hour, and was cold & hard. I asked a server if they were bringing more out, and he told me they were not. They wanted to use up the old naan first. He saw that I was not impressed, so he brought me out a personal order of naan at no charge. That was very nice of him, but I just needed 1 piece. I would rather see that they are serving all customers equally, not just those who speak up. The rice pan was empty, and I asked if they were bringing more out. The woman behind the counter, didn’t show any sense of urgency, and 5 minutes later the server brought rice out. Hello?! This is a buffet. Shouldn’t the pans have food in them and the staff check them periodically?! SERVICE: I did not see the manager(I think owners maybe?) move from behind the register at all. They did not check the buffet nor did they see how people were doing. They did not inconvenience themselves in the least. PS– This large location has high ceilings, and is probably impossible to heat. If you want to take your chances by eating there, bring a scarf and a jacket. It’s cold in there.

Seriously, I don’t understand– To you, person who Unilocaled this: There are cheaper and better indian places 4 blocks down that(1) cost less and(2) won’t make you sick. Unilocal Lahore and Chutney now, and thank your ginger later.

When I first came in, I expected a waiter to seat us, but then I realized that this is a «self-serve» restaurant, where you can have everything at your own pace. All of us had the buffet. There weren’t too many varieties available in the buffet and absolutely no sweet dishes, except fruits as dessert. I was really disappointed that they ran out of kheer and wouldn’t make more. Who can eat dinner without dessert, especially in a buffet menu?! Otherwise the food tasted okay. The lamb meat in the lamb curry was nicely soft and tender!

This location started a dinner buffet for $ 10. I’m usually anti-buffet, but this one was fantastic. Usually their tandoori chicken is dry as a bone, not today! Juicy and spicy! They had four or five veggie options as well as another three or four meat options. Everything I tasted was yummy. Tea didn’t hit the spot this time, but Naan-n-Curry never gets things 100% right, so I’ve come to expect that :)

Came here for dinner the other night since the BF was craving curry. It was around 8PM so it wasnt as busy. The set up is a bit different compared to 2 years ago. You still order at the counter but now they assign you to the table rather than you grabbing a number and picking your own table. We ordered the chicken marsala curry, garlic naan, roti naan and chicken fried rice. I loveeee their garlic naan– made fresh to order. Their roti was nothing spectacular and their chicken marsala was also very good. We wanted to try something different so we ordered the chicken fried rice which turned out very tasty with a little spice to it. We ended up taking home a good amount of food and the entire meal was under $ 20.00– worth it!

The line was waaaaay too long @ Max’s Opera Café before the actual opera at the War Memorial… Accept it: it just wasn’t going to happen… no Max for you! So instead, we hit up Naan ‘N’ Curry… been a very long time since I’ve noshed on some naan from their other location on Telegraph. Food was actually tasty and the naan *was* great.(food alone should have been a 3) But this place… can’t quite put my finger on it… there’s something that is very unclean about it all(’tis mysterious, yes…). I certainly didn’t trust the cups to be clean and drank more hot than cold beverages… it’s like there is a film of something unsavory that just extends and covers, and gobbles it up. whole. Expected gastric trouble on the double. but luckily, strong system!

I don’t care for most of the dishes. I go to the buffet every now and then, but after today, I think I will decline if my co-workers head here. It’s $ 9.99 for the all-you-can eat buffet. Standard Indian fare, Northern Indian, I should say. Includes Chai, which I’ve always appreciated. Good Naan. Cut fruit available for desert. Sketchy bathrooms. Today I just decided I’ve had it with this place– I got 1 ½ plates at the buffet, quickly losing my appetite. The palakk(spinach) sucks– tastes like thawed frozen leaves, the Chicken Masala has an overpowering tomato paste base(!?) and, to add insult to injury, the rice pudding dessert is also terrible! Boo! The little pieces of rice, I suppose, were all clumpy and reminded me more of the texture and flavor cottage cheese put through a blender with tons of sugar, cornstarch and rose flavoring. Yup, Gross! Sorry, Naan-N-Curry, but your customers know better and you should treat our taste buds with more consideration!

Cheap? Yes. Lots of veggie options? Yup. Free chai with every purchase? Sweet! You’d think I’d love this place. And I do, in a certain way. Quick service Indian food is almost always good, and it’s nice that they have a little mini salad ish bar(lettuce, onion, jalapenos, yogurt dressing, tamarind chutney that tasted like cranberry sauce, lemons, etc). Plus, you get free chai with everything. However, the chai isn’t very spice, and tasted a bit more like flavored milk than masala chai to me. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and regular naan, my partner just went for the cheese naan. They didn’t mention that rice didn’t come with the dish, so that was a little odd(5 cubes of cheese and a hell of a lot of delicious sauce… and no rice?). It was good, but so mild that it was a little bland. The naan? Hot, fresh, big and delicious, and my partner liked her cheese naan too. Verdict? Good for quick, cheap Indian food, but keep in mind you should buy naan and rice unless you’re in the mood for soup… and it might be worth shelling out $ 2.50 for the Mango Lassi, since the chai doesn’t really cut it.

Wow, I don’t think I’d ever had bad Indian food before Naan-N-Curry. The Palak Paneer was very obviously made with frozen spinach. Like, boxes of frozen spinach just thrown in there & not even really broken up. I know that most restaurants use frozen spinach, but they at least drain it right and add flavors to cover up the taste! Second star is just there because everything else was mediocre but ok. The only reason this place seems cheap is that it doesn’t serve alcohol & you’re not tipping a waiter. There are better options just blocks away, seek them out instead!

Wow… There are a ton of NNC haters out there. Roaches and rats are pretty scary! This NNC didn’t feel cleaner or dirtier than any other seat yo’self Indian restaurant that I’ve been to. This isn’t GD. It’s NNC. Just got back from a carb-o-lucious lunch. Naan, plain Chicken tikka masala Rice, plain Chai! The secret to tasty chai is one healthy tablespoon of sugar per cup. I would probably come here more often but I don’t want to get cavities or diabetes.

The worst of the Naan & Curry dynasty. I mean, die-nasty. Yes, we all know N&C is the Panda Express of the Indian world, but man, they served the slop like it was an Indian prison. We fell for the $ 9.99 lunch buffet. Agreed that buffets are probably the worst choice, but having good experiences at other Indian buffets, we thought we would be OK. I mean how hard is it to make tandoori, chicken tikka masala, or daal? Well, they went O-fer today. For one, the tandoori chicken that was in the bin was dry like the Sahari desert. I mean, it was like sand with water. I asked them to make another batch. They only made white meat. And it was braised or some sort of steamed pot action. Really really bad. The chicken tikka masala — I guess it was on par for that style tikka. I mean, real real runny, creamy, fire red, and again super dry chicken chunks. Over the years, it definitely has lost it’s quality. Remember the first time you had chicken tikka masala? Yeah, it definitely was not like that. The rest were also poor — the daal — how they made a wet dish taste dry is beyond me. Powdery and some bits crunchy? Crunchy like the biryani they served. I almost cracked a molar on dry rice clumps. Real crunchy. The saag was a bit creamy like House of Prime Rib creamed spinach. I guess it was decent but when you start getting those rumblings in the stomach, you know it was the saag. Yeah, you think I’m bashing them a bit hard, but give them a try. Then post a review about them and I’ll attach as an update. Really disappointed. You let me down, my friend.

This location looks a lot better than the other locations around the city. But the food definitely does not taste as good as the other ones. Went there for the lunch buffet. $ 10.85($ 9.99 + tax) Decent variety. Quality & taste? Out the door. Chicken tikka masala: lacks flavor Lamb curry: tough meat Palak(spinach): too salty Naan: burnt on the bottom Basmati(rice): overcooked The only things I somewhat enjoyed were: Chicken tandoori Aloo Ghobi(potato with cauliflower) Paneer A lot of things just looked unappetitizing, so I didn’t even bother to try. I’ve been disappointed =[

It was my first time here today and I *loved* it. I feel so bad that I can’t remember the names of the chicken curry, mixed veggies, and kabobs.(I’ll make sure to take notes next time). But oh did it all taste so good. The naan bread did make a wonderful bread for dipping into everything from the salad dressing, the curry, and also worked as a taco shell for putting the veggies into. I will definitely come back here again. Yay for Indian food. =)

Back in the day, when I first had Indian. I was a fan of this chain. Now, I can tell that this place is at the bottom of the list, as far as Indian food goes… So.if you want it really greasy, decent flavors, moderate prices and portions, but like I said greasy… get it. Service is okay, but then again, most of it is self-serve(get drinks, utensils, etc from a bin up front.) Otherwise, there are better places to have Indian.
