Came here a few years ago and it had live music which wasn’t too bad. Lots of rooms to dance and sit and came with live music. I was disappointed with their mojito though, even the bartenders told me that it’s not comparable to other places, it’s called Mojito for a reason! Too bad it’s closed now

***Good*** Salsa dancing. Mojitos are obviously good. ***Bad*** Charging a cover in north beach is weak. ***Recommendation*** Go check it out if there is no cover and you want a place to drink for 30 mins.

Such a classic spot to watch live music. I’ve watched some real quality stuff here. Though most nights Mojito is mellow and the crowd is fairly sparse, I’ve appreciated how laid back the staff and crowd have been. A great place to unwind on a weekend night — as the fog starts to mystically roll up on the North Beach hills. Trust.

We didn’t stay long because we were waiting for a table at the Italian place a few stores over. I had a mango mojito which was EXCELLENT! Almost on par wtih favorite coconut mojito from Azucar in San Jose, but much cheaper than Azucar. It’s a little divey inside but hey the drinks were cheap so I didn’t care. I think I must have been there for happy hour because it was a pint sized glass for only 5 bucks, at Azucar you get a glass half that size for 8 bucks(but any place that does happy hour during dinner time on Saturdays is fantastic in my book). There was a small stage and a very large area for dancing so it looks like they do live music and or have a dj come in. Looks like it could be a fun place for later in the evening.

First of all, this place is named MOJITO — my favorite drink is mojito — so of course I’m going to order a mojito! BADBADBADCHOICE. It was one disgusting and way too sour mojito. What a disappointment! But of all the bars on Grant Ave. [north beach area], this one was probably one of the bigger ones. It has a dance floor as well, but… I wouldn’t say much dancing went on. It’s an okay place overall.

The XXXL doorman give me a rude look and a ruder dismissing wave of his hand at about 12:30pm on a Thursday(5⁄12). I was 2 drinks in and dressed decent. The crowd hanging outside the door wasn’t my color but was fine with me, but apparently i wasn’t fine with the crappy doorman. Stay far away from this place would be my best recommendation.

Well despite the smell of piss and the grim of the bathrooms, the fish tacos(grilled or fried) are cheap and delicious. They also have some killer happy hour prices($ 2 Tecate pints, yes please). Obliviously this is the place to go for a great dive bar, live music setting with some cheap drinks not with any other expectations than to get down and dirty with it. Winning.

This is the type of place that you should really go into when it is(a) dark, and(b) featuring a live band. The smell was pretty bad(rotten sweet drink mix combined with cleanser?). BUT the most amazingly redeeming quality has to be the grilled fish tacos. They are $ 2/each during happy hour($ 1 for chicken, pork or carne!) and came as a startling surprise(in a good way). Granted, I only went inside so I could keep an eye on my laundry across the street, but the fish tacos turned out to be a highlight. Just the right blends of spice, chargrill, and freshness. I recommend getting them to-go…

This is the type of place where people head bang to a live jazz band(apparently). The band was really good, but personally, I would not head bang to the band that was playing Saturday night. It was definitely fun to dance there. Major positive of this bar: it wasn’t crowded, it was just pleasantly full. This is the first bar I have been to in SF that seemed like just normal(non-stereotypical) people frequent. I am counting the head bangers as normal for now.

I listened and watched from the outside with envious eyes. I was actually across the street with some friends and wishing I were here. This place really draws a crowd and from listening outside, the music is great. Sounded like a live rock band/singer was happening here on Saturday night. I’m coming back soon to REALLY check this spot out. FYI — there is a small cover charge.

I LOVEITHERE. Well, I can only speak for Thursday nights when they have a live salsa band. It is so much fun! Its a cool unpretentious crowd and yummy mojitos. Dance floor is decent sized. As far as I know, there isn’t a dress code. I have a few DJ friends that spin here as well. Definetly worth a try if you are in the area!

Mojito is a great bar for an early drink before North Beach turns into a cesspool of debauchery later at night. The happy hour is really good. $ 2 Tecates, $ 5 mojitos, and $ 1 tacos that are surprisingly quite good. I’ve only had the steak tacos but I’m pretty sure they have chicken. In fact, they even made a special order of tempeh tacos for my vegetarian friend. That was really cool of the bartender. If you seek a happy hour spot in North Beach where you can eat and drink on the cheap, yet be able to hear your friends speak, then Mojito is definitely an option to check out.

$ 2 tecate and $ 1 chicken tacos — I could really get used to this. The taco was so good — tasted very clean — looked pretty too. I’d go back for the tacos alone!

So glad we decided to come in for a small bite. We really don’t give them enough credit for the food they serve, which is Mexican food from taco, nacho, burrito, fajita, enchilada, ceviche… Instead of tacos, we got an order of nacho($ 7) adding carne asada($ 2). We waited over a Big Daddy for hubby($ 5) and a margarita on rocks($ 7). The nacho looked good and tasted even better. They use blue tortilla chips that was warm and crispy with a mix of 2 cheese(not sure what but one yellow and one white), petite black beans that we really liked(we both don’t care for black beans offered by other Mexcian restaurants), small bits of carne asada that was tender and tasty, slices of jalapeño peppers topped w/sour scream and guacamole. It was very good and the toppings and cheese were evenly distributed from top to bottom. We cleaned the plate and were very full. If they can make nacho this good, we are excited to return to try other items.

I was on my way to the house when I walked by this place and the Dancehall music drew me inside. We were early so I decided to get a mojito since this place is called Mojitos and they had mint strategically placed on the bar at each seat. Got the traditional Mint Mojito and my gf got the … I don’t remember because all I kept thinking was, «Damn, this is the best mojito I’ve had in a long ass time» I didn’t stay for the Band since I had plans but the it’s a nice joint to relax w/some friends and enjoy a live show and the bartender was attentive and nice.

Give me a joint with stiff drinks, a swingin’ DJ and room to dance and I’m not too picky about the rest. Even if I were, Mojito’s does the trick– the ambiance is nice; mind you it’s janky… but fun janky! The crowd is about as diverse as they come in San Francisco, and there’s lots of room to move or sit and watch this white guy do ridiculously energetic dance moves that made me grin from ear to ear. I went on a Friday night, so perhaps this is a DJ night and not a live music night, but the music he played was absolutely swinginn’. Dancehall, MJ, old school funk, and none of that ‘shake your fat ass in my face hoe’ top-40 nonsense. A+, Mr. DJ. My friends will probably read this review and think, ‘bitch please, you barely drank that night and you sho as hell didn’t dance.’ Hey, I was jetlagged as fuck AND sober and this place was still fun to me. Furthermore, it’s located in the beauuutiful North Beach and surrounded by open-late food joints. All of this = a recipe for a sexy good time!

I came back here during Halloween. Again. Their drinks are still expensive and not very strong. They’re tasty at best, but not quite worth the $$. I had a mango mojito then which was really good in terms of flavor, not alcohol content. So if you’re looking to get a bit on the tipsy side this probably isn’t the best place.

May be some other night, but place looks so dirty… Music was close to bluegrass which I enjoy. If you are in the area, it won’t hurt to check out, but I like Grant & Green more. Usually no cover charge.
