Mission Dispatch has definitely given all my go-to lunch places a run for their money. I apologize Flats Café, Café Taboo, and Coffee Bar if I hit you up all less frequently. Mission Dispatch was cool/overwhelming in the beginning: «You mean I work right across food trucks and I can just walk there in 2 mins? And there are two new trucks EVERYDAY!?» But then as the schedule became somewhat regular, it wasn’t anything special; maybe I’m just desensitized. Oh, and I never eat lunch on time, so boo to the trucks that run out and I only have one food choice option at 1:45pm. I’m just«meh» about it because at some point, I realized eating at food trucks everyday isn’t good for my health or wallet.

I go here from time to time. My only complaint is when some one came in with a hairy dog and I could see the hair flying in the air and almost hit my food. If you go at the right time there’s good food to be had. Avoid dogs though.

The ‘Patch is killin’ it! So stoked to have a rotating set of trucks every day, one block from where I work. I can hardly remember what lunch was like before Mission Dispatch, I think I’ve had the same sandwich 3 days in a row before. Never again! They have totally transformed the neighborhood lunch hour into a delightful culinary surprise every day. On top of the great rotation, there are sometimes great app deals that will hook you up!

A gourmet drive up cafeteria with a constantly shifting armada of the best food trucks California has to offer. Old World: High minded Hebrewish food. I can’t really remember all of the delicious things I ate, but they were all great. Celery soda is not to be missed. Voodoo: I had a sleep walking wet dream after eating the Kong. One table with a bunch of seats makes for interesting conversations and a cool place to meet the people behind PBS. I have yet to get a satisfactory answer as to why all of their shows have such a consistent flavor of bland enjoyability. Long live Jacques Peppin!

FINALLY. Someone noticed that there is a dearth of places to eat in this neighborhood, and brought in rotating food trucks! Woot woot! I am loving it, as it provides respite from the usual salads and sandos of Coffee Bar, the mediocre sushi, and the yummy but pricey burger from Slow Club.

Food trucks are the new cupcakes, the new bacon, the new iPhone/Macbook/iPad! They’re all the rage and I’m ragin’ out! Mission Dispatch is perfectly located a half block from work. You will find nestled into a industrial neighborhood of warehouses, condos and teeny diners and restaurants a cement patio area with a long wooden table for the hunters and gathers of Mission/Potrero lunch. Rotating food trucks each day allows for a fantabulous mix of lunch selection in an otherwise dry and tired area. You can only go to Slow Club so many times or traipse over to Safeway for the umpteenth time for some bland deli sandwich. I’m giddy for the food truck craze and thank god for it… I need some asian — jewish — hawaiian — bacon — korean — mexican —(enter food truck flavor here) — spice in my lunch life!

Mission Dispatch Food truck schedule: Hours: M-F 11am-2pm 2 or 3 food trucks Mission Dispatch is the latest independent(non-OTG) food truck stop that debuted this week(other SF indy stops that were former empty lots are: Truck Stop, The Lunch Box SF, and Soma-StrEat-Food-Park). It’s using the gated parking space for a row of storage units. This project is managed by the owners of the adjacent building(the arts and contemporary furniture gallery at 1999 Bryant Street). I love food truck gatherings, so it’s obvious that I’d give this place 5 stars. Although finding parking is extremely difficult in this area. Most customers come from nearby office buildings. But in case u want to visit this place, it’s located just 10 blocks away from the 16th Street BART station, or take Muni line #27, the bus stops in the corner. There’s a long communal table and many chairs. In the future the organizers plan to add a takeout coffee shop inside one of the storage units.

Maybe it was the unusual San Francisco heat, but I think I swooned. Not for a dude… for food. My true love. I was running a little late(a.k.a. on time) for work and I saw this red and black bouquet of balloons. Because I’m nosey, and I had to understand what was going, and there it was… a glorious food truck. I knew this would be good, so I finally started hustling and got to my desk so I could look up «Mission Dispatch.» First Google search… Not bad results, but I knew this wasn’t it. Second search«mission dispatch food»…
Badabing! Success! I tell a couple people at work, send an email to a couple departments… it’s forwarded to the whole office and then silence. Everyone in the office grabbed their sunglasses and their wallets and were off to see what deliciousness awaited us. Today was the Bacon Bacon truck which is always great — I bought bacon caramel corn to share with my team — and Seoul on Wheels, where I had the BBQ Sammy with Bulgogi, and fries. I didn’t need the fries… they were fine, but that sandwich… really? It was absurd out good it was. Tomorrow is a new day, and my co-worker and I have plans to hit up the same spot, this time having food from the Chairman Bao truck. I’m so excited to have something new in the neighborhood, and really hope it catches on like it should. I don’t know who’s in charge, but thanks and way to go.
