Worst food I’ve had and the prices are outrage. If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. If you’re reading this, never try this place.

Good diner with Wi-Fi. Been here every Monday for last month. Service good all times except slow last visit. Food very good!

Love the tasty breakfast served all the time and the diner experience here at Mel’s. A favorite place to eat when I am in the neighborhood.

We stayed in San Francisco for our 3rd Year Wedding Anniversary and had brunch at Mel’s Diner. The food was fresh, good healthy portions. Rudy had the french toast… yup, they were yummy! I had the country fried steak and boy was it delish! The service was very pleasant although they were busy that day and the food did take a while to make it to our table. Since we love breakfast, we would go back. Cleanliness was good. Was bummed I didn’t see Flo though. lol

Uggg, Breakfast wasn’t great. The coffee was bitter and tasteless.

It’s a diner. You’re probably just going to go for the experience. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s a solid burger, fries, and a milk shake. It’s not outstanding, and it feels the standard diner grunge. Service was slow, and it wasn’t even crowded at lunch on a Saturday. There are so many restaurants in the area, I have to imagine that the only draw is the kitsch factor.

We ate here on 6÷30÷13. The breakfast food here was good. We had french toast, and their omelets. Coffee is very good. The restaurant is clean. The service was ok, not great. We watched our food under the warmer for 5 minutes before she ever went to get it but she was talking to the other waitress’s. She also rung up out meal at the register, took the receipt I signed, and never even said thank you. I had given her a 20% tip and wished I could have changed it. Geesh!

Went here with two friends after the bars closed on Polk Street last Sat night. We were seated right away, then proceeded to wait about 10 – 15 mins for a server to appear. We asked for separate checks, which they apparently do not have the capacity to accommodate. We decided to take our business elsewhere(note these guys basically have a corner on the late-night breakfast market in the Nob Hill /Tenderloin neighborhoods, so perhaps that explains their attitude). Memo to Mel’s: lose the union mentality, and split up a guest check, if requested. It’s not rocket science.
