I love it here. It’s always bustling, with a nice vibe, and clean. There is a great selection of pastries and food. The women behind the counter are knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient and have never messed up my order, even as busy as it is in the morning. There is even a really nice patio in the back. Overall a great café’ in the Excelsior!

This is another one of the best coffee shops to go to. One morning I was on Mission St and Persia Ave waiting for the 29 to get to school, I found this coffee shop in a moment of thirst and hunger. Martha Bros coffee shop also had the best coffee and breakfast pastry which was absolutely amazing. Friendly, efficient staff members, good services and a clean facility.

+:Good coffee(recently voted #5 in the city by SFGate, ) +: Nice workers — they do somehow always manage to burn my bagel. What’s up with that? Or give me the blueberry bagel whenever I ask for raisin — raisins are BROWN, blueberries are BLUE. It’s a nice grab and go shop. Although there is plenty seating(tables and window bar), I never feel comfortable sitting down to drink my coffee. Why? All the patrons are usually men; you know, the ones whose permanent expressions resemble Kevin’s creepy grin from«The Office –_______– . Hipster friendly? Yes. Petite asian girl friendly? Not so much.

Not a great cup of coffee, not even a great bagel either. This place probably only survives bc its the only coffee shop in the neighborhood.

Yummy marshmallow and other flavored hot cocoas! I am floating away on the warm service, tasty drinks and scrumptious bites. Since my last review it seems they have cleaned up their act and the glass cases and counters are impeccably clean. :)

A reliable place for a smoothie with free wireless(wi-fi). They have at least a dozen tables and a couple of places to plug your laptop in. The food is ok. I prefer the Bernal heights location but this one is conveniently located on Mission avenue. You’ll get a lot of city college kids studying here before and after class.

Fast, friendly staff– ordered two bagels w cream cheese to go and was pleasantly surprised with the freshness and quality of the food. I’m picky and smug when it comes to bagels — I’d go back for sure. Place smelled great in the morning. The vibe was nice. The service was quick, prices were good. Not a huge selection as far as I could see, but the bathrooms were quite nice.

Whenever there’s an event at the Filipino Community Center down the street, I’m glad to know there’s great coffee not to far away. Service is FAST — I haven’t tried a lot of their selection, but from the regular coffees and mocha I HAVE had I can safely say it’s quality and strong. I’m no bean snob about coffee and espresso cocktails — I just have one stipulation: that I can still TASTE the coffee or espresso. None of this overly syruptastic diabetes in your mouth BS that Starbucks serves. And hey, supporting the local spots is what it’s all about in my book.

This place is cool, man. I go to this spot a lot and I swear I think they’re tired of seeing me. I drink coffee so I can wake the hell up, and their coffee will do that to you. Their iced americano is the best I’ve had so far. Breakfast bagels are on point. Staff is nice and friendly. No shit stains on their bathroom walls. If I were able to give a ½ star, it would be for one of the baristas making out with her boyfriend in front of the cash register. But this is about coffee right?!? HA! I like this place.

This has to be the weakest of all the Martha’s. I live a few blocks away, yet I make the effort to go to the Martha and Bros. Coffee on Church St. for my eats and wonderful lattes and mochas. Everytime I’ve gone to the Martha’s it has been hit or miss. Most of them being miss. The food doesn’t look appetizing and they make coffee drinks as if none of them have every drank a cup. Sometimes I walk in hoping one day they’ll change but it hasn’t happened yet. I guess I’ll just keep driving down to the Martha’s on Church St. for my lox bagel and large latte/mocha.

I’ve been going to Martha’s in the Excelsior for almost 3 years, and I never know if its going to be a good experience or a bad experience. Sometimes the coffeee is great and the staff is great but sometimes they make my coffee or food wrong or forget my drink altogether. Today was one of those days… I ordered from one guy before I got to the register, and once at the register he double checked my order and I corrected him as he had written down the wrong drink. They made the wrong drink anyway, so when I went up to get it I told them I wanted a soy coffee(cant drink regular), they made it again and it was wrong! The guy making the coffee completely ignored me and acted like it was my fault! I think I will start going to Mama’s down the street for good now… they have better bagels(Noah’s) and are always friendly!

I don’t drink coffee but I think it’s a nice place to spend some time during a lazy Sunday afternoon. The music and atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is friendly. There’s a variety of things to snack on, and just messy enough to look homey, if that can be a good thing.

This part of the city is starting to take off and it’s good to see some Bay Area businesses taking notice. This Martha Bros. has charm and good quality coffee drinks made by a cheery staff of Latinas who are eager to please. Not much on the menu for food and the static KOIT on the cheap radio has got to go. Atmosphere is not relaxing but could be more inviting with some attention. The sign outside is small but easy to find on foot off Persia St. and Leo St. in San Francisco’s Excelsior district. Premade sandwiches are bland, get a papusa on Persia. This café is good for cakes and cookies, a quick fresh juice in the morning and a toasted bagel. Welcome to the neighborhood!
