I’ve shopped at Maker & Moss a few times before. And I agree with the other reviews that this store has very cute merchandise. This is precisely why I popped by today, on an absolutely goregous sunny day, no less. Much to my surprise and distaste, the attitude in there was over the top! Only certain patrons of a certain demographic were greeted at the door and offered wine, cheese and crackers for an interior decorating event. I was altogether ignored. I walked around for about 20 minutes and even purchased a few items(which I now regret). The cashier took my credit card, swiped it without telling me the total charge and seemed truly annoyed when I asked. What on earth? I felt extremely unwelcome and disrespected and I will not patronize this store again.

Nice place with cool stuff. It is behind the juice store so a little hard to find, but great for gifts or small items as well as a few cool dish lines.

Wish I could have one of everything! Great house wears, excellent furniture, wall decals and framed art pieces that are cool & make a statement. Maker and Moss has a complete show room to get inspiration or the perfect gift!

I thought this place was cute. I bought some frames to try in my home and my wife hated them. I tried to return them and they don’t do full returns. Which is bull, now I’m stuck with a gift card for some trinket store that I don’t want anything from. Any store without a full return policy is outright lame. If your like me and shop impulsively-don’t go here! You’ll regret it. You’d do better at any other small business. Or a large business. Anything is better than this experience. They don’t even deserve a star. Screw you maker and moss. Thanks for your crap customer care.

I love this store. It is one of the few stores that know how to balance rustic, modern, and organic styles together. There are couple of lamps that can almost be steampunk and artistic. This combination works in this store. The staff has always been nice and friendly which is huge for me, especially if you have read my other reviews. The selection of dinnerware is really nice and so are the accessories. There are always fun new things to look at and the prices are really good. This is a store that believes in quality and not some put it together particle board kind of place. I have bought several gifts for friends that have been well received.

I’m beginning to love rainy days because it’s given me a good excuse to check out the unique shops in our neighborhood! Maker and Moss is one of those places — it’s a little hard to find as it’s tucked inside the same building as Schulzies bread pudding. But it’s worth a peek inside! I love their recycled wine bottle collection in the back of the store. It’s a great way to showcase terrariums and house plants. The carafes and glasses are functional and cool. And friendly service staff too. They are there to answer questions, but they also let you roam around the shop so you can enjoy the unique pieces on your own.

What a gem of a shop in Hayes Valley that simply gets better by the day! A fabulous selection of items ranging from décor, jewelry, home scents, and accessories. Constantly evolving to offer up new and interesting selections and reasonably priced. Bonus! The staff here are so charming, warm, helpful, welcoming, delightful and appropriately engaging — a truly refreshing change of pace in HV. It’s a pleasure to spend your dollars here, browse, or just window shop. Great spot for gift shopping for yourself or a friend. L.O.V.E. it! Well done Maker & Moss.

Maya is a darling. Regardless if I’m there to buy something(1 out of 10 times) or just admiring their displays she is very welcoming and full of sunshine. This last visit I came in looking for a gift and she was in the middle of entertaining 3 young children while the parent could freely shop around. Whether it was a balance of being naturally drawn to children and giving her customer the opportunity to shop, the store felt inviting.
