I just knew this shop wasn’t here a month ago! And I was right. Localpatron is a seasonal boutique open from November 17 — January 15.
They sell locally-​made gifts for every taste. Mind you, this is not a cheap thrills type of place. You pay for having a one-​of-​a-​kind piece of work. Like I found this very cool, very desired coat made from vintage fabric with red poppies. It was a very cool $ 350. See what I mean? No one on the face of the planet would own it, so if you are into that, then hey! This would totally be up your alley.
But if you are like me and are (as they say in economic terms) very price sensitive, then the dollar amount is more important than if (alas) some child in a third world country slaved away in a factory for the threads on your back. Sorry, but that’s the truth. And I digress…
I like the fact that local artists are supported through this boutique. There were LEGO bracelets and earrings, paintings, very cute children’s outfits, silverware hairclips and other tchotchkes. Loved the silk-​screened OOAK (that means one of a kind, so I’ve been told) tshirts for kids.
If I had more money, I would shop here. But considering that I don’t, I can only admire this shop and encourage other to shop here.
