I ordered a hat online as a gift for a friend of mine. The hat arrived and it was dirty all along the brim. Chris Smith and Thomas Dempsey in the store were very quick to apologize and offer to have a replacement sent to me overnight since their standard shipping takes so long and I was visibly disappointed. Chris has been courteous and understanding in the fact that it is now one week later and customer service can’t even confirm the whereabouts of the replacement or that it has been processed. it’s taken close to a month to receive this hat. I will NEVER be shopping with Lids again… It’s too much of a hassle despite Chris’ outstanding customer service.

Being in the Westfield Mall, a very touristy place, they carry a lot of different teams not just the local ones. I’ve picked up a Chargers hat and now a Clippers 59Fifty. Being a transplant from SoCal, I appreciate their large array of teams and colors.

Great variety of hats. The only downfall is this location does not have engraving. The guys are always friendly and helpful

I try and stay away from Westfield due to its size and foot traffic. However, after forgetting to pick up the Memorial Day Giants hat and seeing that it was sold out online, I quickly started calling all my nearby stores. I called just about every Lids within 30 miles. I was ready to give up after every store told me they were sold out including this location, but I decided to come down to this location regardless. A quick look at the mall’s directory and I began making my way up to the third(?) or fourth floor. The store is pretty small compared to other locations, which is expected given the high rent of a retail space at this Westfield mall. Even with a handful of customers browsing in the store, I was able to move around and with 4 employees on hand assisting customers and window shoppers. My only complaint is unless you’re pretty tall, you’re going to need help to pull any hats from the wall. The reason I give this location three stars is due to being told over the phone that they were sold out when in fact they had plenty of the limited edition hat and in my size. I’m not sure what the associate heard over the phone, but nevertheless, I’m happy I was able to find it and will most likely come back if in the area. Pros: + Tons of Bay Area sports teams + Friendly staff + Lids discount card Cons: — Cramped space — Assistance needed for most hats due to their high placement

I am still looking for a hot pink Yankees hat, and I have yet to find one. However, when I went into lids I was able to get something else instead. I am also looking for the all the Dallas Cowboys hats that are cute before football season starts. With that said, I went into lids and found exactly what I was looking for. The stud at the counter was really helpful. She even remained calm when some jerk off came in there giving her a hard time. My hat wasn’t too expensive and I got a frequent buyer card. Score!

Lids has a nice collection of sports cap, and I needed an Oakland A’s cap(green and gold), so I stopped in and browsed around. Some of the Oakland A’s caps were kind of pricey($ 34.99…wow, gum gwai… I know I’m cheap), but I did find one for $ 19.99 plus tax = $ 21.69. Several people were in the store, including myself. There were three tourists from Sweden and their friend was from Oregon, and two young black men(teenagers). Sad to say, there was only one employee(Thomas) handling all of us. Of course, Thomas’ attention was focused on the tourists, and he was very engaging with them… conversation wise. I waited and waited and waited for what might seem like an unsurmountable time to purchase my cap, but I wasn’t going to cause a scene and/or raise my blood pressure. I just waited patiently for my turn to be served, even allowing one of the teenagers to pay for his purchase. The young man was paying cash for his purchase and did not want to break one of his bills. He was a nickel short and asked his friend if he could spare that nickel… no such luck. I didn’t have to help out, but I pitched in the dime to cover for his purchase. As I was paying for my Oakland A’s cap, more people were coming in to shop and browse. I headed out the door, thinking this store needs at least two employees — one at the cash register and the other one presenting the merchandise to potential customers. I am quite sure Lids can afford to hire another employee, so that the store can run a little more efficiently. Finally, thank goodness I did not get booed out of that store by an employee for being an Oakland A’s fan and having a pink Oakland Raiders lanyard around my neck in SF Giants’ territory. Thomas was cool and friendly with the customers, including me.

worst customer service i have ever witnessed in a store. i was the only customer with two employees but they were apparently too occupied training each other on the computer to help me. literally walked out of the store after he reluctantly got me one had to try on. will be buying my hats on ebay from now on.

Do not shop at this store if you are Afro-American. The guy Chris will think you are stealing and I was in full uniform!!! There was other customer’s in the store that was not Afro-American and he did not help them cause he was to busy watching me. He would take the hats out of my hand as soon as I touched them!!!

Ordered the Derek Jeter 3K hat online and selected this location to pick it up at. The inside of the hat was damaged so I asked for an exchange, since they didn’t have any in stock I was fine with returning it and reordering. While one of the employees is helping me out another named, Tommy, came over and started being really obnoxious over the team hat I was buying(NYY), stating that he would never buy that hat. I informed him that I was also a Giants fan(baseball fanatic) and continued the return process with the other employee. While she is trying to settle everything out Tommy begins bothering her, and slows down the process. I won’t be returning to this location. I don’t know if that guy is the manager, but next time I’ll skip the trouble and order straight from online and have it sent home.

The Westfield mall is a circus, however, my boy and I love this place. Really good selection. Thanks.
