Kumon Math and Reading Center of San Francisco – Bernal Heights

I can’t say enough about Kei and his staff at Kumon Bernal Heights!
My daughter started attending Kumon roughly one year ago because she was struggling in reading/​language arts. She has always been a slow learner and has always been at the bottom of her class. In December of 2014 she was in the 2^nd grade and reading at a kinder level and nothing we or the teachers at school did was helping. Now almost a year later she is reading at 4^th grade level and mind you she is only in the 3^rd grade now.
With her hardworking and the support of the staff at Kumon, our baby girl is now out of remedial classes and able to participate in regular classes with her classmates. Not only has Kumon helped her academically but it has given her a big boost of confidence.
Thank you Kei and the rest of the staff at Kumon Bernal Heights… she couldn’t have done it without you!

I came in for an orientation and testing for my 10 year old. The guy that greeted us was very pleasant and honest. I wanted to enroll my kid for reading and math and he said «honestly you don’t want to overwhelm him with to much» I would do just math. Mind you, you pay per subject… they teach old school curriculum not common core. So I also liked the fact that he made us aware of that. Came in expecting to start my son with fractions and found out that he needed more work that what I thought. He reviewed the tests in front of us, we had my son tested for reading and math. The place is small, clean, free of distractions EXCEPT for the outside traffic noise. I will start my son on Tuesday and he couldn’t be more excited about it. Even though we supplement with scholastic material at home, We feel he needs the extra help! I will update in a few months. So far it looks good

There are many Kumon centers in the San Francisco area and even more choices for after-​school learning programs, however, of all the other Kumon instructors and all other after-​school learning teachers, I would choose none other than Mr. Arita to help my children as their Kumon Instructor.
I am a former Kumon student myself and I have first-​hand experience with how much the programs can have a huge impact on one’s academic career. The qualities that Mr. Arita has make him an ideal Kumon Instructor. He is passionate, diligent, and desires to help the local community and be a part of a greater cause — building up the community where he has grown up and giving back to where his own journey began. There’s nothing more noble than to give back and become an educational role model.
Besides his positive attitude and generosity, he is, above all, excellent at what he does. In order to know how to do something is one thing, but to be able to truly master the concepts AND teach others to have that same mastery is an entirely different echelon of skill.
He’s a great person and I hope that everybody goes to Mr. Arita’s Kumon center and values him and his services for the local treasure that he is. I can honestly say that it is great knowing him and that I trust no one else to better my children.

When my friend told me that Keith was opening a Kumon center in Bernal Heights, I had to get in touch with him immediately.
We were co-worker’s for a couple years and had no idea he moved to SF but he is the perfect Instructor because he’s the ultimate motivator and teacher.
Constantly looking for efficiency and improvement, never settling for less.
At our company alone, he has left a trail of predecessors with incredible skill sets and a different way of thinking.
We recently had our 1^st parent orientation with him at a local library while he’s under construction and I was just emotionally moved by the way he genuinely cared for my son.
I had no idea he took Kumon for years as a kid… which explains why he was so fast and disciplined at work!
He is once again passing on his gift of knowledge but this time to my son and I am truly grateful.
I highly recommend working with this Instructor, he is the real deal.
Watch his speed/​accuracy because I’ve never seen someone that fast!
I can’t wait until my son gets to his level.
