I chose this dental office because based on the fact that it was close my office and it accepted my new dental HMO. When I got in she looked in my mouth and told me I needed three fillings replaced (which I have only had for less than 5 years) and immediately mentioned a payment plan? She spent the entire appt convincing me of this, we never got to the cleaning. I had to come back for the cleaning a week later which was fine. I decided to get one filling redone — a silver one into a white one. No joke, one day later the same filling FELL OUT. I went back and she seemed mad at me and was so rough when redo-​ing the filling I almost cried. The receptionist called me back for the other fillings and I told them I chose not to return. So — six months later and I have a new denist and I call Shimamoto’s office to get my x-​rays, etc. They say I have to pay them $ 20 in order to send the records which I have never heard of a dentist doing. I then called Aetna to see if this was allowed, and they said not to bother since x-​rays were considered «preventative» and their patients have unlimited preventative coverage. Dr. Hwang was the worst dentist I have ever encountered.
