Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation – Golden Gate

Management, RN, CNA staff are caring, responsive and dedicated. Patients are very well cared for and with prompt attention. PT and OT professionals are first class. Staffers present a professional, positive attitude, and are helpful and kind. Questions are answered promptly
and assistance is rendered when requested.
The facility, however, is a burden to the staff, patients and visitors. The 50+ y.o. building is in need of significant upgrade and ADA compliance. The elevator, kitchen, bathrooms are shot.
Management and Staff likely have little control over these issues, but the message to Kindred corporate offices should be clear: It’s time to allocate funding for a rehab of this rehab facility.
It is unfortunate that the rating here is just average due to an inanimate object — the building.

My uncle received the best care while staying at this facility. The staff was really caring and friendly towards him. My uncle didn’t speak English yet the nurses and staff understood his needs very well. The physical therapists worked hard to get him moving again. We are thankful to the team that worked to rehabilitate him. However, there was a time when my uncle wasn’t getting better and didn’t want to do therapy due to personal reasons. That’s when the social worker arranged family and staff meetings to encourage him, which really helped get him back on the healing track. My uncle is very thankful for all that was done for him and especially for Rena’s (social worker director) help in translating for my uncle and being there for him when he needed it most. She is truly a good hearted person and so are the many staff members that work at this facility. If you want your loved one to be cared for like a family member then this is the right place for them.

failed to disclose that its facilities do not provide sufficient nursing staff to comply with California law on minimum staffing requirements. This place with the help of my awful uncle has made false representations about my grandmother. Now she is a locked in this place to remain. this place is dirty, unsanitary, and foul-​smelling living conditions; no response or long response times to call lights;
lack of assistance with grooming and bathing; ITS SAD. My poor grandma :(
