If you want to save your loved one’s life, land here. If you get Bruce, as your introductory admission, you just hit the jackpot. He is efficient, professional, and will direct you immediately to the right person. This is an amazing er. The doctors and nurses leave nothing to be desired.

One or the prime examples of why I don’t have a Kaiser membership anymore. Came here with my man when he needed emergency care as it was the closest to our house. The initial wait is not bad, except for once you were admitted and had your vitals(and Carrie is a rock star nurse; thank you!) but after her we felt like they forgot about us or straight up just weren’t doing their job? I was there for 9 hours before we saw an MD at all !!! Total of 13 hours there for me and we have no news on my love’s condition and a woman whom YELLEDATME and encouraged me to leave the building(Caucasian, slightly aged fave, dirty blond hair) when all I asked for was a «status update«on my boyfriend’s condition because I was in the ER with him on my birthday. Obviously I wasn’t going to leave his side. But this lady has the nerve to say«well if it’s your birthday I suggest you just leave». Wtf. And some crazy old man with glasses chimed in to BARK at me «no one is forgotten about we are extremely busy» like he was trying to cover his ass they’ve obviously had similar complaints in the past… Damn shame never going back

I have been a Kaiser member for many years, and usually generally happy with the care we have received, but this trip to the ER, was by far one of the worst experiences ever.

Sitting here while watching my hubs in pain is not cool. I don’t believe I’ve ever been to the ER and had to wait this long. Yes, they’re quick to take your vitals and your info but it’s been borderline 2 hours and we still haven’t received any medical attention. If the hospital is understaffed, please hire more. This is not acceptable.

Amazing! Came in with a family member who was extremely ill. The doc caring for him was as good as you can get. Great bedside manner, very smart. We were seen within 8 minutes of arrival. Everyone from the nurses to the techs were confident, caring and professional. As a family member, I was just sitting there watching and critiquing, almost looking for reasons to be critical, but the only negative I could come up with was the lack of a private room. Old space but recently redone. I would trust these people to care for me or a family member anytime. Just great

I only gave them one star because I couldn’t give them none. I have been to the Kaiser Permanenta Emergency Room a handful of times for my self and others. If all you want is to have a prescription written then this is the place for you, because they’re quick to treat symptoms with medication, and that appears to be all they can do. Not once have I felt satisfied with their diagnosis, because not once have they given me an accurate one. I’ve been sent home from this emergency room still sick and with nothing but a bottle of painkillers and no explanation too many times. On every occasion I’ve spent here they have done nothing but give fluids and drugs to the patient and then discharged them prematurely without having found the cause. The only time the doctors in this ER even ordered a test for me was at my request! The level of neglect from the staff is horrible, and left me feeling as though I could have collapsed and laid there dying for HOURS before anyone would have noticed. I will be changing insurance carriers so I will never again have to put the health and well-being of myself and those I love in the hands of those confused frauds.

I’ve been to Kaiser ER on Geary twice, both times involving intense pain and projectile vomiting. Not mine, fortunately. After many hours of observation I stand before you electronically today to state with utter confidence that KER is the bees knees. Service is prompt, the facilities are new and vibrant, and most importantly everyone there is friendly and exudes good juju. I’ve had enough experience with uncaring nurses and poorly maintained hospital facilities in SF to know that this place is top of the line. Everyone there, from docs to orderlies to pharmacists to the folks working at reception goes out of their way to help however they can. I’d call it an aggressive focus on pleasing the customer. And believe me, when you’re sick and life sucks, that’s exactly what you want. Tip: There’s usually parking in the neighborhood south of the facility.
