LOVE JI!
Total accident that we started working together. Received a referral from another artist who was booked, and I got so lucky! Ji lives close by and on two days notice was set to do my hair and make-​up for a tv appearance. FABULOUS! Now I am working with her on some new techniques and products and I have enjoyed every second. Ji is friendly, knowledgeable, accessible and loads of fun to work with. Highly recommend Ji for ANY make-​up, hair or combo you need. You will enjoy the entire process.

I have worked with Jihyun Kim on several film shoots in San Francisco and you just cannot get anyone better for Hair, Makeup and wardrobe.
She does the best work even under extreme pressures and in an industry that thrives on last minute changes, Jihyun always pull through.
I highly recommend her and I am not a friend but a business associate who respects her work.

If I can give her 0 star I would. She contacted me when I emailed the Makeup Institute of SF, looking for a makeup artist for my wedding. I signed a contract with her back in March, hiring her to do our wedding for July 10. She said she wanted to do more weddings to update her wedding/​bridal portfolio. Friends and family who saw my 1^st makeup trial told me that it wasn’t very good — I had «reverse raccoon» undereye makeup and the eye makeup wasn’t what I wanted. Ji even admitted she FORGOT to put powder on me since she was so distracted talking to her friend (who was doing my hair trial at the same time) and didn’t blend the undereye makeup well. I shrugged it off then, thinking that it’ll look better the day of. But, everyone who saw photos told me that the makeup trial is supposed to show what my makeup would look on the wedding day and that her work is terrible!
After that time (mid-​April) she did not respond to any of my emails or phone calls. Of course I had questions about how she’ll be doing makeup for 7 bridemaids, mother of the bride & mother of the groom. Everyone knows that weddings can be stressful and she just added to that.
She finally returned my phone call on June 21 (after weeks of trying to get a hold of her) to try and finalize the details about the work she’ll be doing for the wedding. She said she would call me by Thursday or Friday of that week but as usual, she never did. Up to this day, she has never bothered returning any of my calls or emails. Of course she also broke the terms of our contract and in essense, stole my money!
She is extremely unprofessional and I regret that I signed a contract with her. For any future brides out there, DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON!!! She is unprofessional and extremely unreliable. A total flake!
I have filed a complaint against her with the BBB (case # 57 174 320) and will be filing a claim in small claims court.

jihyun is one of the best hair and makeup artists i have worked with. she is very professional, proficient, and of cource pretty!
Definitly an over acheiver when it comes to her work! shes very knowledgable, quick and efficient. you will have no worries when shes on the job because she has researched and prepared thoroughly way in advance.
You wont go wrong with Jihyun and her team of assistants, give her a try!
