This tour is good for tourists, but maybe not great for locals. The tour includes some scenic and classic SF spots. Some of the points advertised were barely discussed, like the role of the Beatniks in North Beach. I wish this part of North Beach’s history would have been hit on more. Other points not advertised but would be good to add would be the 1950’s gay history, like drag queen Jose Sarria shaking up things by running for public office in response to constant police harassment, and actually getting enough votes to put a scare in people and inspire young queers. Maybe this tour lost it’s original flair when it was handed over to new tour guides?
