I just finished my first guitar lesson with Jimmy and I can’t wait to go back! I was a bit nervous going in, but he made me feel at ease right away. He showed a few things about technique and chord voicing and we were already playing tunes together by the end of the hour. I had a good time, learned new things, and now have a list of things to work on at home. What more could a girl want from her first lesson? 2-thumbs way up :)

James has got one heck of an impeccable ear! He is easily able to hear when your on and when your even *slightly* off — which I am/was clueless to. I’m a beginning banjo player and playing a banjo needs to have near perfect timing. I had never used a metronome before and James helped me learn how to get on time with one, tightening up my rolls and learn to hear when I’m off. We also play off of the metronome, so I can learn to play in sync with other instruments that he accompanies me on(bass & guitar). He’s got a huge repertoire of musical styles that he feels comfortable playing in, too. He’s genuinely patient, ever encouraging, and full of praise when you tackle a difficult technique, and truly interested in his student’s personal successes. Learning to play music with James has definitely been essential in my learning process, confidence and comfortability in playing music with others.
