I used to call this place Giulapinno’s. iT was great except the meat reminded me of cat food. i would not come here again but now it is gone. Not sure where they moved to!

Staff were nice, service was quick but food was awful. Had the enchiladas, they were all just liquid! Seemed like a frozen meal heated in the oven. Really horrible, won’t be back!

These guys will smile and talk smack about you in their native tongue. I don’t look like I speak Spanish but I can understand quite a bit. Not a nice way to treat your customers. I’ll be spending my money elsewhere. Food wasn’t bad but I’m not spending money to get fake service. Prices are on the high side for mall food. $ 9 for a burrito.

Surprisingly good. Good customer service. The carne asada fries are delicious and comes with nice cuts of steak and french fries that stay crispy throughout. They provide a very generous serving.

Service was really good. The people were super nice. I had the wet burrito and it was nasty… The red sauce tasted like watered down ketchup. Also had the nacho fries, they were great! This place is totally over priced…

Fantastic! They will actually make you a very spicy burrito! Why anyone would choose to eat at Chipotle is beyond me.

Am I really giving a Mexican food court joint five stars on Unilocal?Hell yes I am. On my first try, I was famished from running a series of headache-y errands at Stonestown and just decided to bite the bullet and grab something from the food court. On my second, I was mindlessly just grabbing a burrito because grabbing burritos is obviously a part of my weekly repertoire. Both times, they were excellent. Perfectly steamed tortillas, flavorful meats(both the carne asada and grilled chicken are good), tasty rice(get the Spanish rice), robust salsas, sweet employees who generously load up my tortilla, and wrap it all together properly, topping it off with a «gracias, seniorita.» No, gracias to YOU, Jalapenos. I’ll be back for sure.

Jalapeños! Is one of the best Mexican Grills… Their Nachos are to die for, cheesy tortilla chips and sour cream and your choice of meat and beans… I have not yet tried their burritos, but I will be back for some more Nachos…

I love this place! They have authentic salsa and my fav pickled carrots with jalapeños. This place isn’t scared to be spicy! Definitely recommend the burrito bowl with chipotle chicken!

My favorite fast food Mexican in SF. The taquito plate I had was perfect: crispy, filled with a lot of meat, and topped off with Mexican cheese. The carnitas tostadas could’ve been better, as they were greasy. Yechhh! Jesus, lose the grease before you put the meat on the tostada! I’ll still go back though…

Food is good but the service sucks. I asked for the smallest little thing and I was refused. This is when I’m a fairly regular customer. Don’t think I will continue coming to this place

I have been here twice to get the chicken tacos dorados and Spanish rice and black beans. The second time I tried the refried beans. Everything is delicious! The cooks are always really nice too. I’m surprised it’s in the food court it could be its own restaurant and I would go to it.

I love Mexican food. I am really amazed with the amount of food and selection this place has to offer. The rice is cooked perfectly and all the foods and ingredients are full of flavor compared to other places with very bland ingredients. I ordered the bowl just to see if I can get back on the gluten free diet, it is absolutely delicious and at the end of the meal, I was stuffed. I am a big boy so not many places can satisfy my appetite with a single order. Oh, fresh warm tortilla chips and guacamole! Gotta have it! The menu consist of both authentic and healthy dishes. It’s nice to get out of the gym and swing by for a great bite to eat. Next time you are at Stonestown Mall, definitely head to the food court for a visit. OH! Don’t forget the Horchata!!! It’s creamy and tasty!!!

Went here on Saturday for lunch, before I placed my order my intention was to buy a carne asada burrito but when I noticed that they also sold carne asada fries it just caught my attention especially since I just came back from SoCal a week ago and had carne asada fries there which was the bomb. Unfortunately Jalapeños can’t compare to the fries from SoCal the meat isn’t as juicy, and the fries that they serve is seasoned fries versus regular restaurant fries which is what they used over there.

I have been coming here for a while and everytime it always does my taste buds justice. Service The staff is always very cordial and friendly, especially the little adorable cashier in glasses. Price The price is fair and what you would expect to pay for mall food. Food The food is very authentic Mexican food. Also has a home made type of taste, if you have tried home made Mexican food. The meats are very delicious and flavorful as well is the rice, especially the red rice. They offer a wide variety of things which makes it harder to pick what you want, but all very good. Favorites I love the Chipotle chicken and their taquitos. The Carne Asada Fries are to just ridiculously good. It’s like having nachos and fries in one bite. There salads are great also. The Aztec soup is seasoned very well and just great on a cold day. Burritos are big, so bring your appetite. What has brought me to write a review is there new Chicken Wings with fries. The wings are very meaty and flavored just right with their home made sweet sauce. The meat on these wings just comes right off the bone which means it’s nice and tender. You get six wings but we’ll worth the price compare to other wings establishments that are too greasy and small. Overall this is a nice place to get a taste of Mexican food in a shopping center, so kudos to them for spicing up the food court. Do I recommend this place? If you looking for something authentic, good and interesting. This is your place.

Excusse me? You call yourself mall food? no way! This place is so yummy. I’m pleasantly surprised this is in the food court at the mall. I love the burritos here. The people here are super friendly too. I usually stick with a carne asada burrito. The green salsa is spicey so I literally get drizzle on my burrito. try it and you won’t be disappointed.

Hands down best option at the food court. I believe this locations’ been cursed with a few restaurants closing down in this exact spot within the last few years so I figured this could be the same until my wife tried it and convinced me otherwise. Quality of the food is on par with many bay area taquerias. The carne asada is tasty and well seasoned and all of the other ingredients used to build out your burritos, tacos, enchiladas are all very good. I love how they allow you to customize your order at the end if you’re looking for extra cheese, sour cream, and you can even make it spicier if needed. What really got me was when they started offering Carne Aada Fries. Trust me, they’re legit and actually uses the correct size of fries, not steak fries like other places have tried to pass off to their customers. I’m from socal and I would say these are the closest you’ll find in the bay area, for now. A solid 4 out of 5 — too many choices in the bay for good mexican and for a 5 you’ll need to really stand out. If they keep the carne asada fries on the menu forever I can see this rating changing

Keeping this short… Burritos and nachos are awesome here! Great quality Mexican food for a mall. :)

Good deals on their food; large portions for low prices, 90% of the time I split my order with someone else. I came here a couple times and gotten several different dishes; they’re pretty good. Super Casadias: it’s a a bit oily but the tortilla is definitely crunchy and delicious, although after two pieces you’re just about done for. Tacos(3): I asked for all three meats; barbeque chicken, carnitas, and carne asada just to get the best of all 3 worlds. The chicken was pretty good but at times it was a tiny bit dry, the carne asada is a typical meat I go for for all Mexican dishes so I can’t really point out anything in particular and the carnitas was moist and juicy. In addition, you get a big bowl of rice on the side with 2 pieces of chips; why just two? I have not a single clue. Add like a dollar for a small cup of guacamole; not worth it. Super Nachos: This is a pretty good deal; I think at one point we just came back for 2 – 3 weeks straight, each time eating the same thing. Again, this is gigantic(in my opinion), so plan to share it with someone else if you don’t each much… well everything they have, I felt like are huge anyways. I usually get this with carnitas. I think after having come here so much, I needed a huge break from Mexican food, haha, this place is pretty nice.

I’m rather surprised with the taste and quality from Jalapenos, especially because it’s mall food! The prices here are slightly higher than what you’d pay at a taqueria in the Mission. But, nevertheless, Jalapenos is still pretty good. I usually get the«Mexican Delicacies», which is large enough to split among three people. It includes carne asada, grilled chicken, carnitas, rice, refried beans, two enchiladas, two chicken taquitos, sour cream, pico de gallo, and chunky guacamole. The carne asada is very tough, chewy, and dry, like eating beef jerky. But the chicken is moist with delicious smokey flavors. And the carnitas are flavorful too. The chicken taquitos have white meat that’s also extremely dry, but I really like how crunchy the tortilla shell remains after soaking under all the cheese. On the contrary, the meat in the enchiladas(not sure if it’s dark meat chicken or pork) is very moist and I love all the sauce and cheese they’re drenched in. Jalapenos is a nice option at the food court if I don’t prefer my usual Tokyo Express or California Crisp. I hope this non-chain establishment stays because it seems whatever eatery is at this particular location in the food court always closes down.
