Closed Really? So bummed. There was not a whole lot of healthier type options in the area. AND I had a full punch card for a free lunch.
Oh Well, all the best to your future endeavors. The young man who always rang up my pick up orders was so charming.
All the food from sandwiches to salads were excellent. The only reason that I cut back ordering lunches here is because my co-​worker and I used to pick up and one of us would go in while the other drove around the block. He left my company, since parking was limited it would take too long for me to pick up my to go order alone.

Yes! The Flashy Fried Chicken salad was just one yummy treat on top of another. The herb yogurt, house salad and cole slaw were a triple treat of tangy happiness, the cheesy mashed potatoes were a delicious savory counterpart, but the standout was the crunchy panko chicken coating dipped in the sweet habanero mango dressing. Very satisfying pleasure-​inducing meal.

Jake’s Place is such a yummy place to eat. I’m in love and will definitely be coming here more often. The décor is adorable and the food-​amazing, fresh and healthy. I got the Protein Power Salad with Crispy Chicken and it’s the best salad I’ve had in a long while and the citrus dressing is way delicious.

The food is DELICIOUS. I loved the mashed potatoes, but let’s get real, I loved my pulled pork sandwich too. The service is great. The chicken sandwich is also yummy. They have mac n cheese bites that are really good too! Everything here is amazing and full of flavor. This place is definitely deserving of a 5 star rating!

So impressed by this spot. It’s a hidden gem. Fast service with flavorful food. I had the salad and my dining partner ordered the kapernicking. They should bottle their citrus dressing it was delightful! Who would of thought that a sandwich stuffed with macaroni and cheese would be so good. I will be back.

I wish that they were open on the weekend! I went here by accident. My window was smashed in a month ago and I was getting it fixed are repair shop close by and I went here while I was waiting. This was the best decision I’ve ever made! I crave this salad the protein crispy chicken quinoa salad, the dressing is a lemony citrus dressing and it all together is an amazing combination! I would give this place 10 stars if I could!
I never go into this part of town and I will make special trips just to go to this place and have an amazing lunch here! It doesn’t even taste like it should be healthy but it is. If you are looking for a fun new place for a cute atmosphere and a small but good selection for lunch this is the place!

Delicious, fresh and friendly! The cashier who helped me was very nice and patient. The food was great and I will definitely come back if I’m in the area again!

Our office ordered from them for lunch one day after finding one of their fliers on my coworker’s windshield. The four options were: fried chicken sandwich, fried chicken meal, pulled pork sandwich, and pulled pork meal. I ordered the pulled pork meal and it was really good over rice with the slaw/​salad — I inhaled it pretty quickly. She ordered the fried chicken meal and saved some for the next day, and said it was delicious on both occasions. It’s one of the «lighter» options in the area. Too bad we only get 30 minute lunches — otherwise we’d go more often!

What a sleeper! Decided to try the spot based on finding it on Unilocal.It’s an extremely small hole in the wall but very cute and contemporary with lots of clean tasting homemade food. I had the fried chicken and quinoa salad which was perfectly clean! The fried chicken was fried to perfection and not greasy while the quinoa had a great balance and some sort of dressing on it that I could not put my finger on. The actual dressing on the salad was in orange flavored dressing the taste almost like orange sherbet but really tied the salad together. I also had the homemade tomato soup which was great!
I would absolutely come back to Jake’s place for lunch!

I honestly didn’t have high expectations when I parked my car and looked around. Definitely doesn’t look like a place I would find an awesome restaurant as Jake’s!
I had the crispy quinoa meal which comes with soft herbed rice, fresh sale and lightly dressed fresh salad with 5 small pieces of fried quinoa that looks like chicken nuggets with a side BBQ sauce. WOW! It was a perfect balanced meal, delicious and vegan. I say it’s a perfect place to grab a bite. But maybe to go (lots of smog here)…
My friend had the crispy chicken salad– the chicken is moist because it’s breaded very lightly, includes quinoa that’s been marinated in basil sauce. It’s flavorful, not overwhelming and awesome!
I highly recommend Jake’s!

I LOVE Jake’s Place!!! I’ve tried almost the entire menu and everything is amazing. Its easy to get, everything is fresh and the menu is always changing. The people running it are awesome too! I will be a long time customer :)

Love this place! Their ingredients are always super fresh and the staff is very nice. It’s almost like a hidden little gem that not a lot of people know about.
Their grilled cheese is probably one of the best I have ever had. Their Mediterranean Tacos are also AMAZING! That one is a huge plate though so if you eat like a bird then expect to have some delicious leftovers!
It is a bit pricey, but what do you expect for the quality, amount, and location! :)

First visit: The Kaepernicking sandwich was DELICIOUS. My criticism is that the side salad and cole slaw were not that great, and the fries were way too soft.
Second visit: Two salads for $ 34, YIKES! Double meat on one, and gave tip, but still. $ 17 each is ridiculous.
Definitely stick with sandwiches here.
We sat outside and the cashier was friendly and super nice… she brought my dog a bowl of water :)

I ordered the most amazzzzzzzzing sandwich!!! The Kaepernicking sandwich is the most satisfying lunch I’ve eaten in a long time.
Fried Mac and cheese with beef in a sandwich is my ultimate favorite;;)) never thought I’d be eating both of my favorites in a sandwich! Yum yum yum:))

This place is the breath of fresh air in fast food dominated Bayshore. The ambience is charming and greets you with the scent of the food that awaits you.
Everything on the menu is a complex variety of greens, quinoa, and different types of grain. I ordered the aromatic chicken breast with the dried mango, herb infused rice with the variety of three salads. My friend ordered the green smoothie with a side salad. So delicious. These prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. I can’t wait to be back to try the rest of the menu.
The menu says they will have a dinner menu soon. I’m excited since 10am-​3pm are sometimes hard hours.

I first started going to Jake’s when it barely opened. I work in an area where fast food rules and a taste for fresh, organic food is merely a drool. I work in the Industrial part of San Francisco. I am surrounded by fast food chains, which I do not partake in. Thank God for Jake and his crew for opening up this great and delicious establishment!
From the first time I tasted their food, I knew there was something special about it. Not only do they support local farms and cook with fresh organic products but you can taste the love in every bite! I have tried all of their dishes and I can honestly say that they are all deeeeeeelicious! The only thing that can be somewhat discouraging at times is that their menu is small; however, that does not stop me from enjoying each dish over and over again!
For delicious, fresh organic food to go, give Jake’s a try! You will not be disappointed!

I think for this neighborhood, this is a great option if you’re starving. The patrons seem to be repeats who work in the area and are looking for something other than a super burrito. We ordered the quinoa cakes plate and a chicken sandwich.
The Good:
–The service was super friendly and knew many customers by name.
–Décor was cute and there is a fair bit of seating. Two counters, a tall 4 top, and several tables outside.
–Nice ingredients with bright colors
The Less Good:
–Too much mayonnaise/​fatty sauce on everything! I’m biased on this one because I hate mayonnaise unless it’s truly serving a purpose. I feel like often restaurants use fatty sauces to cover up less good food rather than letting the ingredients shine.
–dry chicken
–lemonade was way too sweet and not «lemony» flavored enough. They needed to squeeze a few more into the batch.
–quinoa cakes were just fried quinoa. I guess my expectations were wrong on this one. But I did end up eating all of them because I couldn’t bear eating the salad smothered in a super cloying dressing.
Overall, I think for this area, it’s probably a unique option and since there were a lot of repeat customers, it seems like it’s a neighborhood favorite, but it’s not worth it to go even somewhat out of your way to get here.

Went at 1 pm, and not too much of a wait. The two tables on the street had sunshine and the inside tables were uncrowded as well. A steady flow of customers, though, taking food to go.
We checked in on Unilocal and got the free lemonade – thank you very much!
Flashy fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was white breast meat with a nice crust that adhered nicely. The meat itself was a bit too dense/​hard for me – not soft and pliant. I got the sense I wish it had been brined or more «fresh.» The toasted dutch crunch roll was crusty and light and tasted nice with orange (mayo) spread. Cole slaw inside was not bad either. Overall, the sandwich didn’t really come together for me. It was just slightly above basic. Chef salad that comes on the side was pretty good – with cherry tomatoes and a good amount of dressing (maybe too much for some).
Fried quinoa cake plate – could have been called quinoa hush puppies. We got six cakes about 2 inches in diameter each. Wasn’t a star dish, but it was an intriguing vegetarian option and not bad. The panko or crust was nicely executed again and may have had a slight bite (spice)? If you’re ordering this dish, you’re not trying to avoid calories?.. . just shooting for a non-​meat option. This also came with chef salad and cole slaw. If you don’t like mayo, most items on the plate seem to utilize a measure of mayonnaise.
Overall portion size was not HUGE but sizable enough to fill me up. From other reviews it seemed like they were going to skimp, but I felt we got good value at about $ 10 per plate. As for gourmet quotient – these two dishes are a half step above normal with a solid execution. The service was extremely friendly and responsive and there are clearly a lot of repeat customers as well as delivery pickups going on. I’d say this is great if you’re in the neighborhood. But probably not worth a trip.
I know a lot of reviewers have put 4 – 5 stars. But for my lunch benchmarks, V105 is a 5 star. This was more along the lines of a solid 3.3 star place. It is a solid comfort food with a dash of gourmet.

Great place for lunch. Awesome workers that are very polite and love to call you by your name on a one to one basis. Felt very welcoming when I came in and even got a free lemonade.
I ordered a sandwich called Kapernicking! Who wouldn’t order that unless your a Raiders fan lol. Bomb!!! Overnight braised beef and crispy Mac and cheese inside! Woah. Second bite my taste buds was all over the place. Never had a sandwich quite like it, and it comes with a side of Chefs salad.
