Walked in great atmosphere great bar. Order our bloody marys which were phenomenal and then ordered steak and eggs with home fries the four of us when the food was brought out all looked like we were being pranked. Literally they took one steak and cut it into four and a steak nugget no more than one and a half ounces is what was on each of our plates I kid you not I do not have a single potato in my home Fries it was just a big blob of onions and bell peppers and one tiny piece of toast cut in half never again.

I am not one of the people who care about perfect service and finding the best new cocktails etc. For me what matters is nice atmosphere, nice music and nice people. I found these at Jack’s. To be honest I fell in love with the place the moment I got in. I love the style of the place! I had burgers there, really nice, ordered a Weiss California beer that was perfect. That is all I know but for me it is enough to go there again!

I was leery of this place when my bf steered me in here. It’s too close to the Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 tourist traps and they were advertising $ 1 oysters. Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed my time there. There’s a lot of beers on tap. The souvenir t-shirts says 84 beers and I counted about 60, so I’m going to say there’s about 60 – 84 beers on tap. They had a wide selection with local Nor Cal staples(Anchor, Lagunitas, Speakeasy, Bear Republic, Firestone, etal) as well as small batch brews from all over(Hangar 24, Alaskan, Ninkasi, Deschutes, etal). They’ll have a beer for everyone’s taste. What really surprised me were the oysters. Even at their low price point($ 1 each), they were still fresh and went down smoothly. I ordered 2 at first to try them out and I ended the afternoon downing a whole dozen. The bar environment was casual, relaxing, and not too loud. Service was solid and the bartenders managed a good pour. I’m really happy with the oysters and the beer selection here. I didn’t order food nor mixed drinks so I can’t comment on that. Lastly, it’s a cash only joint, which is pretty unusual in this tech heavy city.

Dropped in for a few drinks while visiting the pier and I’m surprised about many negative reviews. Plenty of beers on tap and the bartender is easy to talk too and frequently comes over to make sure everything is good. Sunday night was kinda quite but the sound of jazz in the background made it very comforting! Definitely will come back!

Happy I stopped in this classic watering hole. Tons of beers on tap… Upwards of 60, and probably more than that. They have many staples but also some rotating taps. This place is CASHONLY, so be mindful of that. Because of that, you also can’t start a tab, so it’s pay-as-you-go.(Note: might be different for regulars?) There was live music going on on a Saturday afternoon. Nice courtyard bar that would be nice for the warmer weather.

Dont judge me but I got here about 8:45. A couple of people at the bar. I waited a couple of minutes and started looking for the bartender. They never showed up so I decided to move on. But it looks like it could be fun.

We went here for the early football games. The bar was nice. It was a good environment for sporting events I imagine except for the live music being played later in the day. The bartenders were all nice and attentive. I ordered the double cheeseburger with a side of fries($ 9??). The burger came with onions, lettuce, pickles, and a tomato. They did not ask how I wanted the burger to be cooked so I expected the burger to come out cooked medium, but I was disappointed when it came out cooked to a medium well. The meat seemed to be of solid quality, but it was just overcooked to my liking. The bread did not add or subtract anything from my thoughts of the burger. The fries were the thick kind. They were not very flavorful at all. Will I go back? Yeah, possibly.

Drunken people never got told to leave. This is a local bar, for local people ONLY, don’t waste your time or money on this place. Bar rescue! !!

Is there a 0 star option? One of the worst places to eat… Terrible staff and don’t have knowledge of their own menus. Everyone was really rude and the food was awful. I can’t believe this place exist in San Francisco. they should move their business to the other coast of America, where people are known to be unpleasant. do not eat there you will waste your time and money

Don’t eat here. This place is by far the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. There was hair in my food. Then, they tried to accuse it of being my hair. Their service was extremely terribly. The server would say, «I don’t work in a kitchen» when I asked simple questions like«does this come with bbq» when I asked if the chicken wings were breaded, the waitress said«obviously» They upset me so much I left, in which the cook followed me outside the building and threatened to call the cops on me unless I paid for the food that had hair in it. This place is a disgrace. This only scratches the service of the ordeal that I tolerated here. Avoid this place. At all costs.

Great bar! My boyfriend and I stopped here twice(or three times?) during our trip to San Francisco in December. The bartenders are very knowledgeable about the numerous beers on tap. I don’t know much about beer so I asked our bartender Nikki to recommend something. She gave me a few options and the one I picked was perfect!(Of course I’ve forgotten the name but cest la vie.) They are cash only, have an ATM if you need it, and use this awesome old register.

I do not have the occasion very often to really give a bad review, however this eating experience was a total disaster. The waitress was trying really hard to do a good job but she had no support from the kitchen or management. The food was slow and poorly prepared. We ordered items from the menu that were never delivered to the table. My shrimp salade looked as though a total novis had prepared it. The title deal breaker was when the check came and I was informed that they were«cash only». Who would imagine such a thing. My bill was well over $ 60 and I was not planning on cash. No indication it was a cash only place. Folks this is 2015. who pays cash. I cannot recommend this place in any way.

What is up with this rude waitress?! She screwed up my wife’s drink order and then blamed her for sending it back when explaining why she forgot another customers drink order. It’s been over 20 mins and I still haven’t had my order taken. She has been constantly rude this entire time. This is probably a good resturant when this girl isn’t working. Unfortunately I will never find out. There are way too many places to eat in SF to waste your time on a place that doesn’t value their customers. Here is your tip… Drop the attitude, honey. Your mediocre looks don’t make up for your crappy attitude. By the way… No soap anywhere to be found(not even any dispensers). Where is the staff washing their hands after using the bathroom? How has this place passed health department inspections?

While an amazing location, when calling in for information, it was an extremely rude awakening. The gentlemen on the phone hung up the first time after asking when they opened. Next, when asking if they took credit cards, it was a very rude NO! That ended in being hung up on. While understandable that they might not take cards at a bar, the third phone call was completely rude and distasteful in their response to «do you take debit/credit cards». Simply put, a bad experience before even walking in the door.

I worked directly above Jack’s for the first year I lived in SF. I notice a lot of hating on Unilocal, and I’ll grant you that I haven’t tried the food. But, there are a lot of good qualities about this place. I could go to 3-Stars as a local, but in the context of Fisherman’s Wharf, I think it goes to 4. The Good: *68 Beers on Draft *Cool space. There’s a main bar, a side bar, separate area of tables, and they have an outdoor patio/bar. *Live Music *Long Hours — Opens at 7am *Usually interesting tourists to chat up, many of them Euros. *$ 1 Oysters *Cool Location in The Cannery — Right next to Aquatic Park *Food — Both Breakfast and Lunch/Dinner *Solid Bartenders — Always good in my Book The Bad: *Of the 68 Beers on Draft, there aren’t a ton of stand-outs if you’re a seasoned Local Beer Drinker. If you’re on Vacay, you’ll get plenty of West Coast offerings. *Wharf Prices — $ 7 for a Lagunitas Lil’ Sumpin.(BTW — That I order this shows there isn’t a ton off novelty to the menu.) *One of the two TV’s at the Main Bar is clearly not in great shape, which makes me wonder about standards. *Bad Cell Reception. Come on, some of us have Unilocaling to attend to. *Cash Only If you hate The Wharf, this place probably won’t make you a convert. However, this isn’t a Pier 39 «Why would you come to SF and do this?» type experience. I enjoy the atmosphere down here, particularly now that I don’t work here every day. It’s fun to meet tourists, and it’s pretty by The Bay. My opinion may change if I tried the food. If you are a tourist, particularly if you’re down here with your family and need a few minutes to «re-group», you’ll probably enjoy a visit while you give the kids the plastic so they can go buy an «I got Crabs in SF» t-shirt.(I saw a 6⁄7 year old wearing one — Stay classy, Mom and Dad. Although, I always wonder if someone buys it and doesn’t understand the deeper meaning.) I would probably recommend a number of other places nearby for lunch/dinner before this spot if you’re visiting.

This didn’t look like the place to come and eat. It looks like a place to come and drink. Somehow 70ish or something like that beers on tap gives that impression. After a long exhausting day or riding bikes and eating bread I was beat. Time to kick the feet up and get in some brews. Honestly I can not remember a single beer I or the wife had. We each have our preferred beer type so I’m sure we just let the bar tender pull whatever they recommended. What I do remember is the awesome giant old wood bar. They have a story posted about it on the wall, but with 70 beers on tap who’s going to remember the details? Beers were about $ 6-$ 8. I’m used to that from frequenting NYC but could be considered a little pricey. You probably shouldn’t be in this part of town if your looking for cheap… you shouldn’t be in SF if you’re looking for cheap. We got drunk and took picture on a giant bear they have when you walk in. Others soon followed. I’d like to Return.

Great staff. Cash only. Great beer selection. $ 1 oysters all day that won’t poison you. Great location for sports if you happen to be in tourist territory. Great history with this bar, it’s quite fun. You might see people who actually work in the area catching a drink here before or after their shift. Highly recommend the raspberry cider and the cream ale. I thought they were quite tasty. Can you tell I’m not a huge beer drinker? I’m so good at describing beer. It was brown, bubbly, alcoholic? Ohhhh yeaaaaah. I rock.
