Paul and Julie Rubin are really superb Feldenkrais Trainers. They studied under Moshe Feldenkrais himself, the originator of the method, in a small San Francisco training he did in the 1970s. They teach all over the world, but lucky for us, their home base is SF.
I transferred to this training from another because the teaching was superior and the environment is conducive to learning. The class feels like a safe place to explore a different kind of learning, which is different from the more competitive environment in my former training (at Feldenkrais Resources in Berkeley).
One special quality about Paul and Julie is how they treat all of their students with respect and have a passion for teaching and learning. Another useful thing for their students is to see how they both excel in their work, and yet their work is very different from each other’s. It gives students an idea of how the method can be done effectively and differently by each practitioner.
Fort Mason is a lovely place for this class, since it’s along the water and it’s convenient to have lunch at Green’s or Cook’s. It’s a bummer that Fort Mason now charges for parking, but the money goes to the parks (and that makes me feel better).
