Imperial Parking – Waterfront Plaza Garage

If could give them 0 Stars that would be more accurate.
Parked there and paid $ 20 assuming it would be safer than parking on the street.
(To avoid Tickets and towing, since it was a rental car)
Arrived at 8:30am and left to Pier 33 to visit Alcatraz.
Returned at 12pm and my car had been broken into.
EVERYTHING was stolen! I am talking about 4 large pieces of luggage in a heavily tinted windowed car.
When we approached the parking attendant for help, he was rude off the bat and told us he was not responsible for anything.
There are no cameras and the «security» that roams the parking structure saw nothing suspicious.
(Because nothing would be suspicious of a man carrying bright turquoise rolling suitcase with a matching toiletry bag, bright red rolling suitcase and a large women Tiffani green Shoulder purse. I highly doubt they paid to park.
And I should be clear that the attendants walk around with wooden clubs.
When we asked if this is something that happens, he said they know its 5 – 6 guys and happens on a regular basis.
If they know this, why not beef up security or post signs? (which they claim they have, but we could not find a single one)
We were told that maybe if we paid for Valet, things like this wouldn’t happen.
And to add insult to injury, we were MADE to pay for the parking because it was a «Service Rendered» and if we wanted to refund, we could take it up with the corporation, not them.
I think I would rather risk a parking ticket than to trust this company to park my car.

Parking on a Saturday at 8:15 am cost $ 20. It’s gated so I’m assuming it’s safer than street parking. When leaving you can pay on the ground floor by the elevators or when you are exiting. This parking spot is walking distance to pier 33 for the alcatraz cruise.

Imperial parking of Canada has purchased a huge number of parking garages in SF and the US in general. My experience with one of their garages has been terrible. No help around if the pay machine malfunctions, surly help if you get someone on the phone. Tons of people telling you «it’s not my job and hanging up». Customer service in Calgary. Transfer to automated system asking you for lot numbers no one can give you before cutting off. Good luck

This turned out to be a good place to park for visiting Alcatraz Cruises, Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf. It’s an easy walk to all from this location.
Got here before 9am and was charged $ 18 for all day parking.
Super deal (by downtown standards) and will be back.

If going to hang around the embarcadero area for the day, weekend rates is definitely fare. Had to use this garage since it was across Pier #33. Had to pay $ 18 for the 2.5 hours that i spent seeing the Ai Wei Wei exhibit in Alcatraz. The parking bldg, seems like a labyrinth, and I was not familiar with it and the signage is poor. The regular clientele who must work at the office bldg has no patience with driver who are tourists or new to the layout, and i was honked out several times. Beggars can’t be choosers.
The rate for the weekday was more reasonable than the other venues nearby.

Parking around here ain’t cheap. But If you’re gonna park all day, this is one of your least worst options at $ 18 on a weekday. If you’re headed to Alcatraz, departing Pier 33, this is about as close as you’re going to get.

The parking lot attendants were very rude and unfriendly. One of them yelled at me before I parked, insisting that do not graze neighboring cars when I park. When I replied that there is no reason for him to accuse me even before parking, he yelled for another attendant to come over to ‘monitor’ me while I parked.
I would have parked at a different spot if I could. However, the carpark was also extremely full, even for a weekday. I put up with the surly attendants that time. But I will certainly not be returning in the future.

We went on the Alaska Princess cruise and when we came back our car was stolen from Imperial’s lot! They advertise with «safe» and «secure» but when it came down to paying the 500 deductible we owed our insurance, Imperial denied any liability.
Park here at your own risk! Our car was stolen (eventually retrieved) and 5 others broken into. The least Imperial could do is remove any and all reference to the security at their lot because, apparently, there isn’t any.

I called to ask a question — person on phone was EXTREMELY curt. I will find someplace else to park!

We went on a Princess Cruise on June 19 out of Pier 35 and our biggest worry was parking! With such limited space in San Francisco, it could have been the biggest headache of all! But going with Impark at 80 Francisco Street we got parking for only $ 16 per day cruise rate!
The competing garage across the street was full at $ 17 per day and only was offering parking at another garage about a mile away. We called the folks at Impark and they put as down for a reservation for two vehicles.
The day we arrived we simply told the attendant our name and were directed where to park.
Once we returned, we headed up to the garage, got our vehicle and the attendant at the gate adjusted the pricing for our cruise rate as we left and we were done.
Great customer service, clean and easy parking structure. Quick and nearby parking for the Pier 35 cruise terminal.

Worse place ever… I paid for my ticket and it flew away waiting for the valet guy and they made me pay for a lost ticket 50 dollars just to get out of ther never parking ther again, and the worse part is that I work rite cross the street

I couldn’t have asked for more out of this parking garage. It looks like it is an office building, and then you park on top of it (5^th floor). Both days we used this it was $ 17 a day and there were two guys helping us to park once we got to the top. As long as you are out by 9 you shouldn’t have a problem (most of the shops close by then anyways on pier 39). Super close to pier 33 and pier 39 (two blocks tops for either one). I never felt like our car was in risk of danger while we were gone. I would definitely use this parking again. It’s a LOT cheaper than the places around it.

Paying for parking will never garner 5-​stars from me. However, this is probably as close as you could get, given the alternatives in San Francisco. (Pay $$$$, search for street parking, or public transportation; all options are very sketchy).
Anyway, this garage charges $ 10 flat rate parking all day on weekends. The first four floors are all reserved parking, but I found parking here very easy on a Saturday morning. it’s very close to Pier 33, perfect for Alcatraz cruises.
It’s not too far from Pier 39 if you don’t mind a little walking to save some dough (garages near Fisherman’s Wharf are wayyy too pricey).

Less than a 3 block walk from Pier 39, lots of parking and security guard doing rounds — flat weekend rate for $ 10.00 is a real deal.

THIS IS WHERE WE SHOULD HAVE PARKED AND JUST WALKED IT…(recommended for those seeking pleasure at the ferry piers, Pier 39, North Beach in general, or who want to accomplish a great trek all the way down Embarcardero and to the Ferry Building).
City Park charges $ 10 flat rate for the entire day.

Good location — very close to the pier 33. and 15 $ for that area is not that much. so it is good parking solution if you are going on the tour.

This place is ideal if you plan on spending the morning/​afternoon/​early evening in the Fisherman’s Wharf or North Beach neighborhoods. Great location in a quiet office park and less than 10 minutes walking to Pier 39 and many other tourist attractions, easy to get into and out of from the Embarcadero, and $ 10 flat rate for the WHOLE DAY (!).
My boyfriend and I just spent a touristy Sunday in SF and used this parking garage from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Most of the first 2 floors are reserved, but there was still lots of empty non-​reserved parking when we got there and when we left. It was a simple walk (across 2 streets) to the piers and we came back to the car several times to drop off stuff when we decided to venture off to Coit Tower (right by the garage) and walk through the local neighborhoods.
This garage is close enough to many major attractions if you don’t mind a bit of walking (keep in mind you’ll be passing by lots of places with bathrooms/​food/​things to see and do), but not so close that you will have to battle crowds of pedestrians to enter and leave.
The garage does clearly state that it closes at 10pm, so this isn’t the place for you if you plan on the spending a night out in the city. But if you plan on spending the DAY there and don’t mind some scenic walking to get to your destination, then consider this garage.

Hmmm… I didn’t have quite the same experience as Patrick.
While looking for parking around Pier 33 area, I noticed that there was a wide range price wise. I opted to park a bit further away (still less than a 5 minute walk to Pier 33) so I could save some money. The lot right in front of City Park was $ 25/​day and City Park 80 was only $ 10/​day. I think I can handle walking a few extra steps to save myself $ 15.
Things have likely changed since Patrick parked here in ’07, because now there are clearly marked signs on the way in that tell the time the parking structure opens and closes. As we were going on a morning/​afternoon Alcatraz Cruise, we had nothing to worry about. We parked there from about 9am on and the price was only $ 10 for the whole day.
It’s worth it to park here to save some money. Just make sure you check the closing time (I think for today it was 10:00pm) so you won’t end up paying for the overnight fee.

Beware! This place advertises itself as «cruise» parking. Being that they’re a block or two away from the Alcatraz Cruise loading pier, one would expect that they’d cater to that crowd, right? Wrong.
We showed up for the late afternoon Alcatraz cruise and parked here. Being that they had «Alcatraz Parking» signs pointing into their lot, I didn’t bother to check for a closing time (I didn’t realize parking structures ever close).
We drove up past the first few levels as they were for business parking, and parked on the 4^th or 5^th floor. The place was packed and so I assumed it would be a good place to park.
There was a guy walking around taking inventory of the license plates in the place just as we were exiting our car. I had never seen this before and didn’t really question it. I just asked if we were parked wrong. He said no. He then asked if I had just shown up. I said yes and that we were headed to the Alcatraz tour and then dinner on Pier 39. He said nothing but «oh, ok.» Yeah, thanks. He could have mentioned that they closed in less than an hour and a half or that there was an overnight fee of 20 $. But no, instead, he walked off, knowing we were unaware of their closing time.
Needless to say, we came back later that night and went from having a great day to having our car locked up inside of a parking structure.
Luckily we were able to get through their «security» by asking one of the late-​working employees in a neighboring building if they could open the gate for us to let us in and out. We did, left the overnight fee in the attendant’s office and left.
Don’t make the same mistakes I did. Use the public parking lot across the street that charges the same amount and is open much later (if not all night).
Long story short: This place is decent for short-​term, daytime parking. A bit expensive yet gets the job done. Where they fail is in catering to the crowd that their sign-​age suggests they cater to (Alcatraz Tourists), almost to the point of being deceptive. For that they don’t deserve more than one star.
