This NPO is corrupt and cares not for the opinions of the group it represents, nor its own integrity. They’ve sold their values for closer access to DC.

Such a lovely place to be in. They offer many merchandised ranging from cell phones covers to t-shirts. It’s a quiet little store with LOTS to look at. I am very glad they have one located right in the heart of Castro! Will come again. Check this place out!

This is a must see for everyone! I loved visiting this store. It used to be where Harvey Milk had his camera shop and I believe he used to live in the apartment above it. In the heart of Castro, this is a great place to learn some history about the LGBT. I have friends and family that are part of the LGBT community and I love that this place is here. I loved the items they sell in the store and the neighborhood is a great area. Everyone seems so friendly. Even though the items are a bit pricey as other reviewers have sad, it is worth it to show your support. I have to say, I learned of Harvey Milk and his camera shop because of the movie Milk, but I think that is a good thing!

I had always had a pleasant experience here. I usually come in during the Castro street fair. It is a nice place to come and cool off. Always greeted with a smile and friendly face. Always clean and organized inside. They have a smaller variety of clothes and active wear, and a good variety of accessories. I love looking anoint this place. Items can be a bit pricey, but for a good cause a splurge once in awhile it ok with me. They are not pushy about becoming a member for support, but here are some perks when you do sign up. I am glad to have a place to get some equal swag

Pretty cool store. Lots of great info. Gear is a little expensive, but it’s going to a good cause.

After hiking«Twin Peaks» and then having a super meal at Anchor Oyster Bar, I walked up the street a few feet and there was the Human Right Campaign right next door. After seeing MILK I realized his former camera shop was close, but I did not realize how close. I walked in and browsed through HRC’s high quality«=» merchandise. The nice thing is the proceeds support the HRC and its causes. After making a purchase, I walked outside and snapped a few photos of the store front. As I was about to leave, the gentlemen inside behind the counter came out and said do you realize you are the first person to take a photo of the new sign we just had installed 5 minutes ago? I had wondered what all the commotion was outside as I was eating at AOB. Then I was a bit floored when he then pointed out where I was standing and then the embedded bronzes in the sidewalk noting this was Harvey Milk’s camera shop. He then said some of Harvey’s ashes are interred under the concrete slab with the bronze. It was a bit unsettling but peaceful. BTW, look up at the mural over the glass. Nice shop, worthy cause and mission sans politics. Nice, helpful staff. I am attaching those«first» photos for you guys.

How can you not give this place 5 stars? What do you hate gay people or something? 1) It’s historical, it occupies Harvey Milk’s former campaign office 2) Their swag is legitimately cool; I’d be tempted to buy their«YAYGAY» shirt if it was at Walmart 3) Their swag benefits a good cause. What’s more to say?

As a consumer I have a choice on how & where to spend my hard earned $$ that is why I’m glad I saw this store. I had to come in & support it in my small way. After all, equal rights & human rights are causes that deserve everyone’s support. The store was well lit & very clean. The layout made the place seem uncluttered and I was pleasantly surprised at the selections & quality of their merchandise. The prices for the shirts are quite reasonable. The bottom line is they carry items from a few bucks(wrist bands) and up.

minus one star because things are PRICEY here! Besides that, this store is super empowering and has items for your entire family, dogs included! I love all the merch and I love that this is the location of Harvey Milk’s camera store, so cool and historical. I support the freedom to marry and I love this store!

Like this place, although I find it a bit costly, I would still support a business such as this as it supports such a great cause, EQUALITY! Once I found out it was the original location of Harvey Milk’s camera shop I had to visit the spot where history was made. I am a fan and I would go back and support this organization.

I was walking down the street and all of a sudden I was like, oh that’s Harvey Milk’s Camera shop! So I decided to walk in and saw more HRC stuff than I ever imagined existed. They have all kinds of cool, funny, and interesting T shirts, jewelry, and miscellaneous accessories in support of gay rights and marriage equality. If you’re looking to buy something that will show your support for the gay community while also helping out a great cause, definitely give it a try! I know there’s some controversy within the gay community about how effective HRC is, but if you’re gonna throw some money down on a gay-supportive T-shirt, you might as well do it here! They also have a corner dedicated to the Trevor Project(suicide prevention for LGBT teens), which I though was cool. I only wish they had maintained a little more on the history of Harvey Milk. Maybe a museum section or something would have been nice. Regardless, the people were friendly, the selection was awesome, and the location itself is worth checking out!

As I’m not from SF, I wasn’t aware of the feud between the natives and HRC. So, this review is based off an unbiased(and possibly not fully educated on all of HRC’s doings) perspective. I liked the store. It is clean, organized, they seem to play Milk on repeat all day. The products are overpriced, but that is typical for such an organization. Those who worked there were very friendly and helpful. And another customer even gave my friends and I a little insight on the store. He was pleased that they finally did something beneficial with the old Camera Shop. Their attempts to improve the lives of those who identify with the LGBT community seemed genuine. They have the Trevor Project that assists those on the verge of suicide due to bullying, if I remember correctly. And some of the proceeds from the store go to the HRC fund. Again, I am not aware of the politics behind things here, but now I am more than tempted to do some research…

Fantastic organization, great store, quality merchandise. They lobby for LGBT civil rights, and do so very effectively and pragmatically. Not everybody is a fan, but I am. Keep up the amazing work, and kudos on the great new store, and thanks for sharing the space with The Trevor Project. Classy move…
