Cute little restaurant I had the egg white breakfast burrito it was good nice flavor. The only thing I disliked was the customer service. Prices were reasonable

Convenient, clean and delicious food right next to the federal building and off the Civic Center Bart. Not trafficked by transients so it feels safe and relaxing for a lunch or quick breakfast. They have daily morning specials that include coffee and go for $ 6.00 or less which is a great deal considering everything else nearby charges double the price. I love it and it’s a great place to start the day. Also the workers are really nice and remember your name and face.

Nice little restaurant if you have a meeting at the federal building. Staff was cheery, the place was clean and inviting, and the food was A-Okay!

Cute place to go for lunch near the San Francisco Federal building. They typically offer breakfast and lunch specials, in addition to discounts for employees as well(10%). I’ve eaten a variety of meals at this place, from pancakes and French toast for breakfast, to a yummy veggie burger, and the salad bar. I would had to say that my favorite is the veggie burger. It’s not that the veggie burger is anything special, but it’s cooked just right, with just the right amount of butter added to the bread. You can get it with fries or a salad. The fries are always cooked to perfection(move over, McDonalds!) and I always gobble them up fast. There is also a cute, enclosed patio located right off this restaurant, which is great on a nice sunny day or when you need a breather from the paper pushing. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this place however if you’re in the neighborhood and looking for a solid meal that’s not too pricey, this is a great option to check out. Likes: –discount for government employees(10%) –courteous staff –solid food, including daily breakfast and lunch specials Dislikes: –not open during Federal holidays or weekends

Was looking for a place that was opened before 8am for weekday breakfast. Honey Bistro was of the places in the area that was open this early. Though the streets gradually got busier as the city wakes up, it was vary quiet inside the diner. Modest setting inside even though outside is surrounded with modern building aesthetics. Service was frie Definitely recommend the French toast. Two slices of toast neatly cut into diagonal halves and arranged with whipped cream, lightly powered with sugar and served with small side capsules of jam and maple syrup. It’s a hearty breakfast. The bread is soft and creamy texture that holds a puffy shape – it doesn’t melt because you love syrup. Would come back to this joint if I’m in the area to have the French Toast again.

Used to come to this place regularly for breakfast? but recently had numerous accounts of poor customer service. Waited 10 minutes with no line for someone to take my order.

Good place to grab a quick bite in mid-market. The service is fast and efficient and there’s rarely ever a wait, but maybe for a reason. Lots of tables for indoor and outdoor patio seating for groups and good if you want to be able to socialize without being surrounded by the hubbub of the city. Atmosphere is clean but sterile and but food is reflective of that too — is just okay if bland. The salad I had(Lyonnaise) was mostly romaine, a few mixed greens, a poached egg and some stale tasting bacon. Got dressing on side which was an odd cornstrachy consistency. 2.5 stars rounded up for convenience. At the same price, there’s a lot better options nearby but you might have to wait a little bit longer for them.

Food was great, service was fast. Price was on point. I had the parisian Benedict and it was very tasty. I would definitely come here again

This place has as much charm as an employee cafeteria, and when I stopped here for lunch, I kept wondering if it was meant to be just a go-to spot for Federal Building employees that happens also to be open to the public. That’s the indifferent vibe I got when I stopped by here to get lunch before heading home to work. I walk by this place every day just because it’s on my route, but since the concrete walls face the street, I could never tell what it was about. Curiosity must have gotten the best of me as I perused the menu taped to the front window. It was a fairly generic menu of soups, salads and sandwiches with hot entrée specials for those patient enough to wait for them. The scene is extremely chaotic during the lunch hour, first to make your order at the register and then while you wait for your order as workers bark at each other behind the counter. I ended up getting the $ 10.50 Niçoise Salad, which was prepared strictly by-the-numbers with what appeared to be a half a can of albacore tuna clumped on top of a bed of mixed greens and romaine. It was accessorized with a demolished hard-boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and cubed potatoes, all of it doused in a generic vinaigrette dressing(photo: ). Olives and green beans were MIA despite their billing in the menu. I also went for the $ 2.50 Soup du Jour which that day was Italian Wedding. Although I didn’t know for sure, it sure tasted like it came straight from the can(photo: ). Frankly I didn’t mind so much since I always have cans of the Progresso Italian Wedding Soup in my pantry. Guess I don’t have to apply for a Fed job now. FOOD — 2.5 stars… not much care in the preparation here, appears to be more an assembly job judging from the bland flavors AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… a bit of a zoo at lunch SERVICE — 2 stars… rather underwhelming TOTAL — 2 stars… my potential career in government has been curtailed by my lunch here

Excellent customer service, none of the arrogant and pretentious«i’m too cool for this place» attitude, which is becoming a little too common in a lot of good restaurants. This is what sets this place apart. Enjoyed my roasted beet salad and the great weather.

Don’t go if you’re looking for a quick bite. Very friendly guy took my order, offered alternatives as they were out of exactly what I wanted. 30 minutes later everyone before and after me has gotten their food, I’m standing around wondering why mine hasn’t come out as I’ve not heard anything from the cook or staff. Got my order, no apology or any clue why my order was pushed so far back. Sure, kitchen was clearly busy but four people who ordered after me — one with the same order as me — got their food first. Finally, food was okay. Not great, not bad. Won’t waste my time or money here again.

Sit outside here! They have a nice patio area with lots of open seating, definitely recommend getting some fresh air while you eat. And the food isn’t bad either! I was pleasantly surprised(I don’t know why I had low expectations, but for whatever reason I did). They have a wide variety of options that are all fresh and tasty. I really like the set up of the place as it’s very open and clean, and once you get the feel of how the flow works(order and pay first), it’s really nice!

Was looking for a place to get something solid in me before a tattoo appointment down the street. Saw a picture of the Hearty Breakfast Stack and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did! It was the perfect last meal before going under the needle. Great service and outdoor seating were also pluses.

Awesome food and even better customer service. We tried French toast and chicken fried steak for brunch with kids and everything was very delicious. They were very good with our kids and even treated us to extra things. We will definitely come back.

I love this place. I come here practically every day. It’s so inconspicuous, however, you would hardly notice it if walking past, you might even mistake it for a corner convenience store or a quick-and-go deli like I did! They open early(which can be tough to find in SF), they offer breakfast deals with nice portions, the staff are always friendly, and they have humongous sofas and leg rests so that you can play hooky in style. And the food has always been very delectable(especially breakfast burrito and mission street burger). Recommended.

They have a new(expanded) menu!!! I am delighted. I always crave poached eggs for breakfast, but rarely do I find a place that has them as a to-go option. Honey Bistro is now one of those places!!! New permanent menu items include Parisian eggs benedict, eggs Bordeaux, veggie and sausage scrambles, croque monsieur, croque madame, salad nicoise, salad lyonnaise, etc etc etc. Also, the sandwiches that use to only be available as once-a-week specials are now available as part of the permanent menu(for example, Classic French Dip and Chicken Florence). Yay!!!

While some have indicated that the prices here are expensive, it’s important to note that you are getting what you pay for. Previously, this location was Cafe98 which offered ridiculously low priced inedible items– greasy, over cooked, sad sad salad bar. Honey Bistro is a breath of fresh air. The quality is there, especially their salad bar which is often stocked with heirloom tomatoes, organic beets and dark greens not iceberg! I usually go in to grab a salad and it’s only about $ 6 much cheaper than Mirtille down the street although there aren’t as many options as Mirtille. I’ve stopped by for breakfast a few times and have gotten their breakfast burrito and breakfast quiche. The portion was overwhelming for me. I couldn’t finish either in one sitting. BTW, if you are a federal employee, flash your badge for 15%!

The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. A recent review makes reference to a «large outdoor cage» and «blood sport death matches.» Let me assure you that there is no Fight Club. There is No Fight Club. What you will find is a recently transformed space that is comfortable and offers free WiFi. The food is what is to be expected from a Bistro: fairly standard stuff. The staff is friendly and prices are within reason. Again, no Fight Club. No Fight Club.
