I was happy to see the Halal Cart when I was running an errand with my coworker. I ordered the chicken with rice which came with a salad. It was really flavorful and delicious. The portion is huge and I couldn’t finish it. I will be back when I am craving for this kind of food.

Same product as the one on Market Street. Combination Rice for $ 10. But I think I like the one on Market more because the meat is more crispy.

Okay if you crave it. However, it does not compare to Halal Guys. The portions are small; the rice is half the amount as Halal Guys!!! So disapppointed. I also got food poisoning for a weekend eating here. But like I said, if you do crave it, it is great to have this near. And if you have a strong stomach, then by all means. Not for me ever again though. Waiting for Halal Guys to open in the TL before I have chicken and rice again.

I am pretty new to California, trying out nice restaurants around in San Francisco. This is one of the best ones I found, Good tasty food for just $ 10. Combo over rice is the best one I ever had, it is served with two types of grilled meet, tasty fried rice and bread. He also has couple of sauces that added super good taste to it. He don’t accept cards but the good thing is there is an ATM machine right behind his cart.

CASHONLY Fork required. Bib required. It’s OK. The first time I came here I was really happy to have my lunch only a five minute walk from my desk. My second and third visit I realized that the value here wasn’t great. The first thing that deducts from the value for me is the lack of friendliness. If I were ordering in Soho then yeah sure that’s just the way it is. This is a small town with very few people relative to NYC so chill out, be nice and earn your return customers because I’m not one of them.

Ahh an actual Halal Cart. For a city with such great food, especially street food, why has it taken this long for one of these to open? These are the questions constantly going through my mind as I wait in line for my chicken over rice. I mean, this line is insane, and everyone clearly loves it… why aren’t there more? If I had more time I would open one of these myself… it seems like a cash cow and plus i would get the recipe for however they make this magical dish.

This place dishes out some tasty food. If you order the combo plate they pile it up so high that you can easily make two meals out of it, which make the $ 10 price not seem so bad. I’m hooked!

Every once in a while you get that craving. So last week we went back only to find that they had significantly increased their prices. It used to be $ 8 for regular. $ 10 for extra. Now everything is $ 10, but the portions are all regular. There was a LOT of salad in my combo with rice. The reasoning for the apparent price increase was that food prices had apparently gone up. Which just doesn’t vibe. Commodity prices are plummeting around the world. Oil has never been cheaper. Inflation has been nothing for years. A 25% overnight increase is ludicrous for food that was already pricey given what it was. Goodbye forever Halal Cart. I’m going back to New York.

Really good food and huge portions. I had the combo plate — chicken and lamb with rice. Delicious! There are different sauces to dress up the food — the red(hot) sauce had a kick to it. This is one of the better bargains in the financial district for lunch.

Just happy that I don’t have to trek all the way to Market to get my halal cart fix. Pretty generous portions of the Combination Chicken/Lamb plate for $ 8 and the California location is not as busy(for now). Head there now before word gets out and lines start forming!

They’re here on California Street Mondays and Wednesdays. The rest of the week, they’re at their usual location on Market. This cart has really gained a following in SF. It’s our only option for halal cart food(for now). I was happy to see that they had started to come over to the other side of the Financial District and gave their chicken over rice a try for the first time. When I stopped by, there was line, unlike when they’re in Market. I’m sure business will pick up as more people find out about the new spot. I thought the chicken over rice($ 8) was decent. The chicken was good and the red sauce was pretty spicy to me. A friend said it’s not as hot as Halal Guys’. They also have the pita with the rice combos. I want a big fan of the salad with raw onions. Overall, decent food and a bang for your buck. I went into a food coma half an hour after finishing my meal.
