After reading the reviews, I’m compelled to post my experience: The window says Hair, Nails, Waxing… I walked in and asked how Much for a pedicure. I was told they don’t do pedicures. Huh? Given the reviews herein, and the fact there aren’t any event ones, combined with the fact there are never any clients in there, I wonder what their«real» business is?

She does not know how to cut and style hair. I hate to say it but I think the ratings here are either overrated or she only knows how to do man hair. She also isn’t very honest with the prices. She charged me more than what was listed. I think her rates are totally random like if she thinks you have money then she’ll charge you more. Not coming back.

So, a few days ago the other nail salons weren’t open, I’ve decided to give this place a shot. There wasn’t much colors to choose from. After this lady finished painting my nails, she used a freakin hair dryer to dry my nails! I sat there for like half an hour or so, watching her blow dry my nails with the hair dryer. It’s really funny to me because I’ve never seen anyone at any nail salon who would dry nails with a hair dryer. Mehhh, I can go to Tonie’s hair salon and nails for better service and cheaper price.

My younger sister and I have been going to Nancy since we were little girls. I am 17 years old now, and I completely trust her to give me her genuine and sincere advice regarding hair care. She also waxes eyebrows and is very talented at it. She leaves me in awe and smiling every time. In addition, she has a warm and friendly personality. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a hairstylist who is passionate about her profession and cares for her customer’s personal preferences. If Nancy is your hairstylist, you are in great hands :).

I wanted to go to this salon and love it, since it is less than 100 yards from my house. However, I have gone in twice to inquire about services and gotten a chilly reception each time. Last time I went in to ask about prices for the«eyebrows embroidery technique» advertised on the window… which is threading. I was quoted $ 200 for this service! OMG this is absolutely CRAZY! Considering it is done for between $ 15 -$ 30 elsewhere in town, and just for your info there is a special going on at for intro rate of $ 9 !!! I don’t know who they are messing with here, me or themselves, but I would rather take the bus downtown and save myself $ 191 then walk over here. The atmosphere is very basic and not even remotely warm and friendly. I am not sure if it was a racial thing… ie, I am not Asian, and while they are nice and chatty with the other Asian women in there, when ever I walk in, they give me the«What the F-ck are you doing in our salon» look… all in all, no f-ing way.

Been going to Nancy since 2006(?). I attempted to try out a couple of other salons who were well rated and well known but turned out to be just OVERrated. High end salons are just not for me especially because I’m not into doing anything too fancy, too troublesome, and just too expensive! I read a couple of reviews here saying she’s mean but I think they misunderstood her or maybe they’re just really sensitive? She’s blunt and straight to the point but don’t let your feelings get hurt. She just wants you to know what does and does not look good on you! It’s always better to have an honest stylist than one who can manipulate you into just thinking you look good. Nancy colors and cuts my hair with care. She always warns me if I’m trying to do something that may cause too much damage to my hair and suggests different alternatives if she just doesn’t feel comfortable with doing something potentially harmful. And I’m a pretty indecisive person most of the time so I just let her figure out what needs to be done to my thick and fast growing mane. The only drawback from Nancy’s salon is the location. I suggest you get to your appointment at least 20 minutes early to find parking! Also bring cash. I really did wish you would take credit cards, Nancy! I forgot to mention that I am just 1 out of 5 family members who are some of her regulars!

i have been there a lot of times, not because they are good but because i am scared to try new salon Nancy is the owner of the place, but she doesn’t know how to cut and style hair. Every time i go, she does the same thing to my hair. I always think my way of styling is so much better than hers. The service is bad, too. She is so mean and impatient the last time i went. I didn’t know what i wanted, but she was impatient in suggesting ideas… just don’t go

Been going here for a few years now. Great, inexpensive haircut everytime. I used to go to a salon-type place but I can get nearly the same haircut here for a fraction of the price. The only downside is the wait — even if you make a reservation. Ask for Nancy, the owner. She’s the one you want.

I’ve been going there for ten years. They do very good haircuts for men, and I send my sons there too. The prices are great, and the haircuts are much better than a «supercuts» type shop.

Not impressed! I went there after reading good reviews from Asian Week magazine. I flipped through their hair magazines to choose a «short» layered funky cut and the stylist(Nancy?) did her OWN butcher chop on my hair. She cut my hair into a blunt cut«A-liine bob» which was nothing like the picture that I presented to her. I have really thick Asian hair, so anyone who has any sense can see that«blunt» is not the cut for me. To make matters worse, she also shaved the back of my neck to create a bad hairline. She didn’t listen to my requests nor match my cut to the picture that I showed her. Parking is difficult in that area. Also, be sure to bring cash only, as they do NOT accept credit cards. Not a high end salon… I guess, I got what I paid for.

Cool hair salon to go and drop by especially if you have asian hair. Nancy, the owner, can do a 180 on your hair. I have sat and witnessed this myself. This girl came in with extremely long straight hair. She confessed she was a mess and Nancy fixed her right up. She was still the same person but with better tresses.
