I was really excited to try this place as I am temporarily staying in Potrero Hill. Disclaimer: I am new to the area so the pricing may be comparable to other similar pizza restaurants in SF and I would just not know; however, the prices seemed really really high for 1 pizza. Being gluten free I know I will always pay a little more for pizza than for a regular pizza, but $ 22 for 1 medium gluten free pizza with just pepperoni on it was a lot more than I expected. It also was just only«good» I would not say it’s nearly the best pizza I’ve had. I will not be ordering again. P. S. I didn’t appreciate that the register said«God knows when you don’t tip,» look I am usually a good tipper but don’t make me feel guilty for not tipping on a carry out order when it’s $ 22 for 1 pizza.

Goathill generally gets a five-star rating. It’s a local favorite. The spaghetti dinner is consistently v. good. Unfortunately, the Sunday crew ripped us off on June 26, 2016. When you eat in, the serving size is generous — a genuine meal. When you take-out, the containers are usually packed, though the serving size isn’t quite as generous. Today’s take-out was half-packed — a rip off. The problem is, as hard as some of us work, and as good a job as we do at our work, it is aggravating to pay good money for subpar performance. Whether it’s the quality or size of a meal, or the service in a restaurant, or any other purchasing experience, there is a reasonable level of satisfaction that needs to be met. Sorry Goathill: you lose a star for today’s performance.

Great pizza. Try the Goat hill one and it is great. Molten goat cheese fills you up fast but again thats a personal taste. Will definitely go there when we are in the area.

These guys are serious about customer service! That and their pizza is delicious. I placed an order through caviar for a company luncheon, which caviar screwed up by changing the delivery time 2 hours after we needed it there. I called goat hill the morning of delivery, as it was my first time using caviars delivery service. The manager was quick to remedy the situation by getting her chefs to make 15 pizzas out for delivery before the restaurant opened. The pizza was a hit and the service can’t be beat, I would order again but this time directly through goat hill if they do that.

The pizza here takes me back in time to the 1980’s when pizza was an unpretentious affair best reserved for little league kids and late night beer soaked cravings. Goat Hill isn’t fancy, tailored to foodies, or vaguely«Italian», and I can appreciate that there is a certain charm in that. However, as an adult with a worldly appetite and sans children, I found little reason to seek this pizza out again. The ingredients didn’t taste particularly fresh, and I found myself spitting out a few bites that contained olives tasting of tin or feta cheese with a disturbing tang. There are many other San Francisco pizza establishments in the same price range that are vastly superior in quality, freshness, and flavor. That said, this place will do if you are craving cheesy bread of the late night variety and you happen to be in the neighborhood, or, if «family friendly» is your #1 priority. As an aside, the service was fantastic and the establishment itself was charming.

I love coming here for salad, wings and pizza. Cozy pizza place with great service. Typically we order the chef salad, wings(extra cooked) and a large pizza. We switch up our pizza so we’re trying some different when we come in.

Wow, prices were recently updated — A huge percentage. I understand price increases but wow. It will be a long time before I order another pizza for take out. I realized after looking at other pizza establishments that Goat Hill is right in line with other pizza establishments. In order to be fair — I retract my «not so positive» comment. Staying in business in San Francisco is no small task and I would be sad to see Goat Hill leave Potrero Hill. Keep up the good work.

We had a friend in town so decided to take him to some cool places round Dogpatch. The other pizza place I really like was closed so we came here instead. The placed looked legit and if you get seated in be back you can get a decent view of the city. We ordered the caprese salad and the garlic bread with cheese for starters. The salad looked pretty but tasted basic. Thankfully they provided our own bottles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, cause it needed a few dashes of each. The garlic bread wasn’t toasted enough so it wasn’t crispy. Tasted ok, but I was expecting more from it. We got the combination pizza with the hopes of it tasting fantastic but again was just pretty average. The crust was a bit too hard for my liking and after having a piece I was already wishing we would have got the meat lovers. The side of marinara helped slightly but not much. Service was good though, but probably won’t come back. Just being honest.

I can’t count the amount of times my work has ordered take out from Goat Hill so it was finally nice to try their pizza in person made to order without the delivery gap. While not surprised, it was definitely far better at the restaurant than delivered. The crust had a great bite, the toppings held together and overall a solid balance of savoriness. You were able to taste the pizza more, if that makes sense, and pick up on the smaller nuances that were lost in transit. Flavor combinations are varied so it should be able to satisfy a wide range of palates or you can build your own Overall Thoughts Brick and mortar pizza any day over delivery but still a delicious option either way

As of writing this, I have had Goat Hill pizza twice within a week, but five times in life. This is always a solid choice for take-out around Portrero Hill. Goat Hill pizza has delicious crust, fresh vegetables, and delicious cheese. The goat that this cheese comes from is a winner. Kidding, I am still curious why it is named goat hill. Chicken florentine– has chicken, spinach, and mushroom. The chicken was a little dry. Mushroom and spinach are a perfect combo. Hilda’s — goat cheese, pesto and fresh tomatoes. This is by far my favorite. The goat cheese is delicious on this pizza. Mediterranean — spinach, red onion, garlic, and feta cheese. Delicious cheese. Overall, this place has delicious pizza, quick turnaround time when you call in to order, and the cheese is what makes it. It is also convenient to find parking.

Short summary: bomb wings, must get garlic bread(with cheese), pizza size example is above the kitchen I came here with a group around 9pm on a Friday night. I’m just going to assume that we were being a bit loud and chatty but no one seemed to give us any death glares, whew. I had the best garlic bread with cheese I’ve ever tasted right in this little restaurant. Ah-mazing. I originally said«oh I’ll just have half of a piece». Nope, I ended up eating pretty much half of the whole plate. The atmosphere was super cozy, food came out quickly, and the servers never hovered. I got my drink refilled when it got empty, but they stayed away for the meal. BEST part? We left around 11pm and in the Über, we looked up the restaurant and realized they close at 10:30 :c They literally just stayed open and stuck around for us(we were the last party left in there just chatting stupidly) without rushing us at all! Props to the service: D

The pizza is really just ok but the price is really not ok I ordered a pizza to go. They asked for my name when I was ordering so I think they probably call my name when the pizza is ready. Obviously not. I was there waiting for 25 minutes, then I came to the front desk and asked. She turned back and got me my pizza. No sorry, no thank you, not even a smile. It was not a busy day at this place. I didn’t finish the pizza bc it is too salty.

This pizza still holds up as the best pizza. I gave all stars before and I stick to it once again. The seasonings and everything’s are just incredible. The staff and Goat Hill Pizza as a whole is just soo soo awesome. I love the smiles I get coming in here and the servers serving my pizza. They have the coolest attitudes and they serve my pizza so excellently. I love the smell when I can smell that pizza coming to me. Even before it comes too me, mmm. That smell is soo good I feel sorry for people who haven’t experienced the pizza here. Please everyone do us a favor and check this place out. THis place is my go to place for my volunteer group whenever we work the food bank, its always a must we come here every time. The parking is actually really good here also. THis is also a great place for families also.

This is a great pizza joint! As being a bit of a pizza purest, I was a little hesitant about the sour dough crust. However, if I didn’t know better I could not have guessed it. I got the lunch combo, large two topper slice with a side salad for $ 7.95. It was a good slice and the cheese was melted properly. Cheese on a reheat can be touch and go. They got it right. I also shared the two meatball appetizer. This was the best thing that I ate. Tons of minced garlic, a blend of beef and pork, and the mozzarella melted on the top made it just right. Good napkins What did I learn today? If you don’t like beans in your salad ask them hold the beans.

I’ve heard so many good things about this place, I think I had set my expectations too high. Don’t get me wrong, this pizza is good, but it’s not one of the most amazing pizzas I’ve ever had. There was something missing and I can’t put my finger on it. I came here late on a Saturday night as we were the only people in the restaurant(I guess pizza is more of a to-go kind of food). We ordered a medium half veggie and half hilda’s favorite. My favorite of the two was the veggie — the vegetables were fresh and there were so many of them piled on the pizza. A medium was a good size for 2, we had 2 slices leftover which was enough for one person’s lunch the next day! This pizza was good, but nothing exceptional and unfortunately this location is kind of out of the way for me so I don’t know when I’ll be back. I can imagine that this restaurant is good for larger parties because they do have a lot of space in the back!

A dude plays the piano here. That is reason enough for a positive review. Dang son, we in Nordstrom or something? Live music while you shop(or eat). We came on a weekday evening, and the place was poppin’. Clearly a family favorite, neighborhood joint. Love all the framed children artwork on the wall. A group shared the house salad, cheese bread, and 3 pizzas(Hilda’s Favorite, Chicken Florentine, and Special Combo). I read good reviews about Hilda’s Favorite(get me in on some pesto, goat cheese, and tomatoes). I love pesto, so this pizza was definitely tasty. Though I actually preferred the Chicken Florentine(chicken, mushrooms, and spinach). I’m a sucker for some sauteed/cooked mushrooms and spinach. I brought the leftovers home to eat the next day. And I cracked a sunny side egg atop the pizza to be all shishi, frufru, I’m-so-hip-with-my-runny-egg-on-pizza. And actually, it’s really tasty. Crack an egg to jazz up any leftovers, mang.

I made a Friday night reservation on Thursday night at their Potrero Hill location. Parking was easy to find there and the restaurant is pretty casual too. Loved their pizza. Highly recommend Hilda’s Favorite. I don’t recommend Vegetarian Combination. It could use some more sauce.

I am not usually a fan of pizza but they use sourdough here and it is delicious!!! I got the chicken artichoke(extra large to share with 5 people) — comes with marinara sauce(not sure why I thought it would come with white sauce) but anyway it was still pretty good!!! They cut the slices smaller than normal pizza slices so it’s easier to eat/share. They put a decent amount of the ingredients and it was pretty good quality. We also got a side order of a dozen wings with ranch — super juicy and easy to eat(the outside of the wings aren’t the fried kind). Total was around $ 43 but it was enough to share with 5 – 6 people and we had couple slices leftover as well. If I was craving pizza I’d def come back here again!

Came here after BSF one night and I just had a craving for pizza that night. So I got the dinner for one on having a medium Portuguese to satisfy my pizza craving and it sure hit the spot! The pizza is hot and fresh w/tasty ingredients. The crust especially is chewy and enjoyable to eat. Service was decent, got seated, served and got my soda refilled promptly. Parking is scarce as it shares it w/many other restaurants and a big residential area on a hill.

Great local pizza place. I live across the street, so I come here all the time. Things to order: — Hawaiian Pizza(sounds weird, but the ham they use is legit) — Pizza by the slice(you can order any toppings you want) — Meatball sandwich — Anything with roasted garlic

New Years Eve, Me and the Girl-Pal are staying in an AirBnB 5 minutes from downtown Potrero Hill in San Francisco. We ordered the Hilda’s Favorite. It was perfectly delectable, just the right amount of pesto sauce, not over-powering with the goat cheese. I will definitely be coming back to GHP on future visits to the City.

It’s bordering on five stars. In fact, five stars it would be if it weren’t for all the Potrero Hill brats bratting this place up at all times after four p.m. Sourdough pizza crust always sounds better than it ends up being. Always. Always, that is, except when it’s from Goat Hill Pizza. The toppings are fresh, and you can do creative by-the-slice while you’re sitting at a table enjoying the lovely view. I’ve never had the pasta, but the salads are good as well. If you’re eating in, it can take a while for anyone to notice you’re standing there like you’re supposed to. I don’t feel like enough of a regular to just plop myself down in the back dining room, but I’m getting there. Oh, and choose the back if you’ve got a choice. Unless you can sit on the tiny side facing Connecticut Street. Then choose that. But only if you’ve got kids with you, because then they’ll be as far away as possible from me. Once you’re seated, the service is excellent. I’ve only had one vaguely bad service experience, and it wasn’t really her fault because some muckety-muck was muckety-mucking everything uppity-up. And there were tons of brats that day. I like the old-timey piano, mainly because it’s out of tune and constantly stacked with neighborhood flyers and circulars. I want my cousin Greg to come one day just to play it. But he’d probably be drowned out by the brats. The logo is perfect, and the«Don’t Worry!» ad campaign is iconicish and very effective(I came, didn’t I?). I’m vaguely sad that there are multiple locations. If you want to feed your lovely children Goat Hill Pizza, be kind and please take it to go.

A good pizza place in the City. Still exploring my food options in SF, I was still finding my «go-to» pizza place. After getting suggestions from coworkers and cross referencing with Unilocal,Goat Hill sounded like the best option. My friend and I decided to go check it out after work one day. We ended up getting there sometime around 8:00pm, so parking and seating was no problem. With that, we were served pretty quickly. I’m not sure how it is on peek hours, but it wasn’t busy on my visit. There was a lot to choose from on the menu, but I needed to check out of pizza of course, so we settled on the Porky Pie Pizza with a side of Mozzarella Covered Garlic Bread and an order of Anchor Steam Beer. We received the Bread and Beer pretty quickly. The Bread was priced good for giant servings, smothered with Mozzarella. The only thing is, you need to eat it while its still hot, or the cheese would tighten up on you. While still eating our appetizer, our Pizza came out. Their famous sourdough topped with Bacon, Roasted Garlic, Red Onion, and Garlic Cream Sauce. The pricing is in the higher end compared to similar restaurants. I liked the pizza a lot. I personally didn’t notice a difference with the sourdough crust though. I would definitely come back and try more of the menu. Check them out sometime!

I order goat hill all the time! A solid, reliable pizza place. The interior is cute and seems targeted at familys. Children’s drawings are on the walls(also in the bathroom). They also were giving out slices on halloween to kids, thought that was cute! Pricing is fair. The pizza itself is pretty good. I’d say a solid top 30% pizza, but not quite a top 15%. Really enjoy it(hence why I get it all the time), but I would actually prefer Long Bridge Pizza nearby in Dogpatch. Not really too much to say about the pizza… it’s a normal, good pizza.

People working there really are incompetent; I placed an order at 7 pm for 830. After talking with 3 different people I was able to place an order. Guess what happened 1 hour after the order was in? Someone else called me saying that the order could not be delivered!!! 1 hour after! We were starving and it was really unappreciated! Really awful experience after 12 hour work day. Also I used a coupon and it was redeemed without getting any pizza! REALLYSADLYBADEXPERIENCE!

Goat Hill’s pizzas are reminiscent of the ones from my childhood, & unfortunately I think that’s why I didn’t develop that universal love affair with pizza that humans seemingly share. I got the impression that our large-sized pie was not fresh, perhaps because the slices were dried out. At the edges, their sourdough crust is thick, doughy, & had the texture of being somewhat undercooked, but thankfully, was thin & nicely cooked where the toppings lay. We ordered: – ½ order of spaghetti & meatballs: did not try, received a lukewarm, «it’s okay» from dining partner – ½ porky pie(bacon, red onion, roasted garlic, garlic cream sauce — needed more sauce, was not as garlicky as the ingredients led me to believe) & ½ special combination(think: typical combo of meats & veggies — toppings were not evenly distributed, nothing special about this special combo.) – root beer – Total: $ 41 not including tip(which is much, much more than I’d like to spend for this quality.) We’re not shy about polishing off an obscene amount of pizza, so the fact that there were 4 of the 10 not-so-large slices left is an indication that there will be no repeat visits in the future. I will say — service was friendly & food arrived quickly.

You don’t really think about the sourdough crust even though that’s what makes it special, because it didn’t particularly scream«SOURDOUGH» to me. My friend and I got the porky pie which if you love garlic like I do is heaven. I don’t know why no one’s put garlic and bacon together with a white sauce but it is a revelation and I’m pretty sure there’ll be a new religion dedicated to its greatness soon. I think for sure what’s best is the box and the logo which is this goat face throwing some ‘tude yet looking oddly smug and self-aware at the same time. Something to aspire to. That goat is hbic.

Been here twice now and on both occasions ordered pizza for take out. There wasn’t anything mind-blowing, just good pizza. I especially liked the sourdough crust which was medium sized — it made the pizza nice and hearty. The toppings were generous and the pizzas always came to me hot, especially when I called in ahead of time. If you’re gonna call in an order, be sure they have your name and order right before hanging up. I dealt with a new employee over the phone and almost had a scare when I showed up and they couldn’t find my order of two extra large pizzas. It is off the beaten path, but a good spot if you happen to be in the area. Parking is very easy to find.

It’s a Wednesday night and my boy and I are looking for a bite. Since moving to Potrero a few months ago, I’ve wanted to try Goat Hill Pizza but never got the chance to. Sometimes I am wary about bringing my pizza aficionado friend places, as he’s very particular about his pies, but I’ve heard good reviews so off we went. We ordered half Meat Lover for him, half Porky Pie for me. Meat lover is your standard salty, greasy, meaty goodness of pepperoni and sausage. Porky pie was generously spread with red onion, bacon, and whole roasted creamy garlic cloves. So fragrant! Some acidity would have been appreciated to cut through the unctuousness of the pie though. The crust was extremely crisp and thin in the middle, with nice chew on the outer edge. The roof of my mouth suffered 3 days and 3 nights following this meal, mostly due to my zealous consumption of pizza crust. Overall, a good pick for pizza in Potrero.
